Fun gameplay loop and cute graphics, especially liked the soundtrack! The flashlight mechanic was really fun but I would have loved it if running out of batteries was a little more punishing (I could still avoid the trolls without it). Other than that all round awesome!
+1 for literary reference! I enjoyed but found water spawning fairly brutal, having my plant die simply because no water was spawning, although a little bit of the bottom on the web version seemed cut off, so there might have been some down there!
The graphics for this were honestly incredible, if basic. I really love this style and I think creating this level of atmosphere in such a simple and quickly-made game is a real achievement. The audio loop only added to this and was super immersive. I agree with the other commenters that there needs to be some sort of indication of object interaction, even if this detracts slightly from the overall feel. I think it would be a lot more fun if there was an objective to survive until or even just a score system - there isn't really an incentive for me to play beyond just the ambience.
A really interesting concept and a well-written storyline! I know that time limits might have stopped you from doing this too much but I think spending more time on fewer language puzzles where the language is picked up from around the world would be much more engaging than just having a dictionary given to us :)
I did have a couple of issues with window sizing etc. but most of these weren't game-ruining
damn :( the rent pushed me out of my neighbourhood :/
really enjoyed it, great work for 48 hours! Would have been cool to see some original art for the passport (even though there were PR symbols on it!)
fun vibe and fast-paced gameplay... maybe have the projectiles despawn after a bit though haha, the floor gets impossible to stand on really quickly!
Fun game, love the premise but very very fast paced!
I really like the nonlinearity, both in tower placement and resource collection. A bit more distinction between enemies and your towers would be cool though... but I'm not super sure how you could do that! :P
Love the cute art style and the overall mood! The music is really great too and I especially liked the way you had to go to the coffee shop to win... ;)
Best graphics I've seen yet, definitely best storyline. Not sure what else to say about it ;P
The game feels really NICE to play, everything is super smooth. The one exception to that being the feeling of attacking. I can't quite put my finger on it so that's how minor my issues with it are. I also agree that the audio you have is great but could be a little more varied or at least staggered so it doesn't get repetitive
Nice one!
Love the feel and atmosphere of this game, fun core loop too that is definitely easy to pick up, hard to master. Can't really put that much better than @mlkvr.
I do feel like the graphics don't really get an opportunity to shine because of the ui design though :(
This is pretty tricky without any friends... :( maybe an adaptive difficulty which reduces the rate of fires based on the number of players? Or maybe I'm just not very good
Other than that, fun and can get pretty strategic!
Really nice graphics, rich storyline! I did feel like I made the wrong decision at every turn but that's the way it goes I guess...
Fun and quite unique! Looks great but I would maybe have it move a little faster
Really enjoyed this! Great looking graphics, and the UI (or lack thereof) is one of the nicest touches I've seen yet :)
Really nice graphics and a simple, fun core gameplay loop - didn't feel too involved but also not at all boring. I would echo the other commenters that the asteroids felt very fast-paced, but I don't think I mind being overwhelmed too much
Really tough, maybe I just have bad reactions! Neat game though will an enjoyable loop and nice graphics/sound.
@zondarg This is such an awesome comment to have received :) Consider my day made! If you have a desperate urge to get to the ending then writing `goalCollision(man)` in the javascript console during a platformer stage will let you win it immediately... :zipper_mouth: (I don't mind a little bit of cheating for a good cause!)
@mneubrand I think one of the main difficulties of making a text adventure in a short period is not having time to write the massive lists of synonyms for each action. I think one of the first things I'll improve is that section to get to the attack state but I'm really glad you enjoyed it enough to dive into the source :)
@ashashza thank you! it's so rad you enjoyed playing but I'm sorry to hear you had those issues :(. If you'd like to keep on going without the wobble then opening the javascript console and typing `fuzzController(0,true,true)` will disable the wobbling text (`fuzzController(1,true,true)` will set it to the baseline level) :)
@colozz I was wondering whether to request it to be played in a darkened room in the help file... I'm really glad you enjoyed it!
@sandra-jasionowska I completely forgot about the audio until an hour before the deadline and couldn't wrangle with the HTML API properly to get the mood music I would have liked :((
In terms of winning (spoilers!): take the items and leave the room with the chest and go back to the landing, then go left. Once you're in there, talk for a while. Once you get a response I hope the rest of the path to the end is clear  (it involves another fight...)
@maxtgax @unfinished earlier today i tried to fix some bugs with input from controllers but it may have broken the game for older browsers ðŸ˜
I've done some testing on edge and I think it could be it... I'd only tested on firefox and chrome!
I've disabled controller input for now again, it should work :)
Really fun little game to play, I love the cute art style!
Did experience some glitches though (possibly...?) like getting stuck on a single screen randomly?
Sooooo that was... hard to say the least. I would definitely NOT beat yourself up though! It's a fun idea I can't say I've seen something similar to before really. I managed to get past a couple of screens on my best attempt but my fingers just weren't fast enough...
There are a couple of small improvements I can think of: a bit more warning that a trap will respawn and smooth movement through the maze that would contribute to the overall feel of "polish". But other than that, It's a really cool idea which the beauty of is that execution is simple, and this game is not "the worst" by any stretch! As a fellow first-timer I feel your pain but I'm secondhand proud of you for getting your idea finished.
So hard! But found it very enjoyable nonetheless, I think "made me giggle" is the overwhelming vibe to come out of it :)
