You can finish it after jam and upload a post-jam version :)
Hey, I'm glad you got something out there! That's further than most people get. Thank you for sharing your game. I'd say the next step to work on would be getting some labels on the red buttons! ;D
Not a bad start I'd say. Maybe labels for the buttons, some small sound effects.. for some reason my health dropped way below zero and the game still went on, but thats probably because it is not completely finished. Its a game! :)
Hey @smooth I can see that you didn't finish your game but trust me, you weren't that far from finishing it. If you had some kind of currency and cooldown for building the white squares (maybe added a temporary shield that you can buy for your planet) and you introduced bigger enemy planets every time you destroyed one, this could be like a endless resource management strategy game.
For your first LudumDare, this is very acceptable, and don't worry, next time you are going to be 10 times better. It's all about dedication. Good Luck!!!
I think I kinda can see what you were going for here, the graphics are well... lets call it minimalistic :) I do think this idea can evolve into something cool and fun. But good try and keep going, and I agree that there's not too much missing for it to be a real playable prototype.
I see you are using PyGame! I hope you enjoy it for now and make great things, but eventually you'll want to move onto a move featured game framework or game engine, then things will get a whole lot easier! Good luck and I hope to see you back again!
Thanks to everyone who took the time thus far to try out the game.
@zondarg - All the cosmetic stuff I never got time to do and wanted to change those red buttons to icons. @eddynardo - I definitely have learned where I could improve and how to manage my time better to get the things that I wanted out. @batmansb - I thought I would try pygame, it was very simple to grasp, but learning it and entering a competition was difficult. Maybe unity next time.
I'm working on an iOS version, because I think this would be a good game to play on a mobile. Lets see how it goes.
Thanks again for all the comments. :)
