Alright I loved the visuals very much especially the slightly pixilation of further objects! The mood is really good and honestly it felt extremely well constructed and smooth. The dialogue was enjoyable and overall a nice experience. Really impressive for the short time constraint! Thank you for the game!

Love the visuals! I had a great time exploring the map, looking for the characters, this environment is a place I would like to spend time in :). The music fit the mood, the writing was wonderful I enjoyed getting to know the characters and to know their stories. Great job!
Beautiful visuals and atmosphere! Lots of wonderful details in the way the story unfurls. I especially found the opening incredibly effective!
This game done something hard, it touched me and made my eyes tear up, something really hard for me. Thank you so much for the experience.

Got this error when trying to play the web version. I might come back to check the downloadable version later.
Wow... this game got me really emotional. I cared a lot about the characters, and the ending was really satisfying. Well done!

This is game jam game or beta 3A project??? Very, very interesting to play, story and music all 10/10.
What an incredibly well polished game. There's a lot that can be said about the quality of visuals, consistency of mechanics, sound design, music, etc. The whole atmosphere was so calming to go through even if I wasn't too clear on the plot. I get that the three characters may have died in an accident and the player makes a deal with a sort of devil. I hope you guys do well in the final rankings!
Nice story with beautiful music.
Did you make is all in the 72h or did you have a base game to start from?

A heartrending story accompanied by the appropriate music, this game is a very solid entry. Points for fish kissing and b-hopping.

@shaolin-dave On itch, there should be a Windows build -download- button I think.
@slowfrog-again Thank you! No base game, but I do have a boilerplate character controller I work with- somewhat similar to the Unity Standard Assets first-person controller. I should publish it! (once I get rid of all the spaghetti I added to it this weekend, oof)

This game is amazing. The kernel expressed although expected, but very point. What a romantic thing it is to trace memories! The overall play through is really very moving, the music is great, the picture is rough but fits the feeling of the main character's memories, all in all, I really like it. Thank you for bringing us such a work, very heartfelt.

This game atmosphere is really special and the work you put in really shows. The use of the pictures to visualize the characters is a very good idea, and although simplistic, the graphics of this game are superb and contribute to the overall experience.
And of course the story is beautiful, and it will keep me thinking about it for a while.
Liked the colors and the feel of the environment. Makes you want to explore the world and see more of it. Liked that characters talked like real people do.

First time i found game here with such a good plot. Quite depressing Although. I like it
Opening scene was fantastic. I really enjoyed reading through the dialog and the characters felt distinct, especially enjoyed the humor of Onella.
The first stage really had me confused and I had to read the website to get what I was trying to do. The color-coding helped though. It was a pleasant experience just looking around the level but felt didn't enjoy the tasks the game asked of me. It at least made sense that you'd bring them to the place they like... I did like having a photo as a clue on where to find them and would have enjoyed other clues, even written ones to lead me around.
The story fit "deeper and deeper" really well, but wish there we some more visuals that tied into the setting of a Djinn and magic (even something as simple as pointy hats on the characters).
@icarusdev @tetrapteryx @joselor @c3ll256 @bunner That really means a lot to hear that the game touched you in some way :') I was honestly a little worried that people wouldn't like the story enough to want to keep playing
Thanks everyone for your lovely comments and thanks for playing our lil' game!
Beautiful game! Thanks for makin it
I'm glad you found my post and suggested your game, I loved it! I felt very connected to the characters and was very determined to play it to the end(even though I was lowkey struggling to find the mountains lol). I got emotional at the end for sure but I literally asked for it so can't even be mad. Great job! Oh yeah and the music helped a lot, it added to the mood very well and I felt touched by it

Very nice, the story is gripping and the music fits well. Movement in the open areas was quite slow, maybe this could be adjusted? Otherwise: Good job, really!

@zondarg Thank you @zondarg! Sprinting is possible via left shift, but unfortunately that tutorial never triggers. :')

I really enjoyed this story, especially the twist at the end. The dialogue was snappy and made me laugh out loud at times. The well did seem to be more of an excuse to put in the theme (really it's time passing, not going deeper), but the story was so enjoyable (or grim) that that was just a blip. I do think the story would benefit from a little bit of clarification on the Djinn's rules. Presumably the player character has tried just telling their friends their names or telling them that they made a deal with a Djinn, which would give their friends more of an incentive to try to remember. But since the story doesn't say this, I kept wondering why they hadn't tried those obvious routes.
I loved the varied soundtrack and how it changed in each level. Also the gloomy feeling of falling down the endless well. A few things got in the way of the mood: * The faces of the friends. Especially when they started following you. If you just turn around and watch them follow you ... it feels like a horror game. It might have been better for them to have no faces to avoid the uncanny valley. * In the third level, I loved the scary music as soon as you see the orange world, but then every time you speak to someone, the music mellows out to something calm and uplifting. I was left very confused as to how I was supposed to be feeling.
Thanks for the guide, because I had no idea where the mountain was. The whole valley is surrounded by mountains. Also you can jump off the mountains and take no fall damage! I appreciated that, because it would have been a long walk back down.
It's pretty sad that even though Dude/Mr.Wizard/etc. gets a name, he still can't interact with his friends because they've all faded away into the environment. D:
Why was Mr. Treble a math teacher and not a music teacher??? BIG QUESTIONS!!!
Otherwise, I do wish there had been a bit more gameplay. Other than choosing your own name at the end, the story is very linear. Though it's still an excellent story. And the running theme of making everyone just wanting everyone else to be happy was a good touch.
Are you kidding me??? The story, art, and music in this all come together insanely well. This is one of the best short narrative games I've ever played. Yall are incredible!
I came here expecting something a lot more mechanical and strategic, and I was surprised.
I don't know if this is a problem only with the web version, but the controls were very weird. I could only walk slowly, so I bunny-hopped everywhere. That was kind of jarring. Also, some trees were floating above the ground, and shadows appeared in front of me. This was very immersion-breaking *for me personally*, because I could figure out how this happened, as I had implemented similar games with low-poly terrain in Unity myself. I won't deduct any mood points for this, but I would like to see baked shadows or high-priority light sources or something like that.
The "mountain" was not the first place I went to, and I wish there was a snowy peak visible so I would know that this is the mountain. I could climb up the pillar that leaned into the mountains, maybe they should have added some invisible walls at strategic locations. The polaroids felt like they were intended to be a bigger game mechanic in the initial design, and then they just stayed in.
This is all rather nit-picky, because the game looks *complete* as is.

This is exactly the kind of experimental game you are hoping to find during a Ludum Dare. Love the visuals, music and story! The mood was 5/5 for me.
Gameplay: It is a story game, nonetheless I liked your idea on how to make a tutorial and I am happy I remembered the sprint button before climbing up the mountain
Thanks for this great experience!
