The amount of polish in this game is baffeling. The art is great the music is great and the gameplay is nice. The voice over encouraging combined with the time cap adds a lot to and keeps the gameplay fresh for a while. One thing I think should be improved is the controllers, I think because the main mechanic is running and shooting the controls should feel better and I found myself struggling with timing jump and over sesetivity in the mouse. That said, the game is great and I enjoyed it a lot. BTW my rank is failure so I guess my mother was right

I really love this game! It's got a great amount of replay value, and I love the course obstacles.

Game is ver fun, i like the artstyle, the shooting of the robots is very satisfying
the movement is a bit clunky for the map

I liked the low poly style and it felt so good shooting enemys. Overall a very fun game, but the player was a bit hard to control.

This game throws a Windows Defender warning for Wacatac.c!ml, can you check it please? I've seen this with Unity before, but I'd like to be careful. Please feel free to delete this comment if it stops being a problem - I'd like to give this a go!
I'm also getting the Windows Defender warning on the same file. :/

Really cool game :) Good job on the graphics and audio. Really reminds me a lot of the old quake racing maps. I really liked that you added enemies and that they get more and more as you complete laps. Also good idea to make the aiming really forgiving so that you can concentrate more on your own movement. I don't know if the timer is really necessary though. I would've had more fun if I could just go lap after lap and try to improve my time. So basically something more like TrackMania. Also the movement itself and jumping (especially air control) needs some work. But I know that stuff like this is really hard to get right in only 48 hours. I really hope you are thinking about updating it after the jam because this is something I could spend hours playing :) Keep me updated! :)

Great game and real nice take on the theme. The shooting mechanic is absolutely perfect and a nice side activity while trying to get that perfect lap.
Love the robot hit :-)

@thingus @morpheuszero sorry about that, for whatever reason the binaries of the engine I'm using (fte quakeworld, it's all open source so people can check themselves that it's safe) is false positive flagged by some anti viruses, I don't know what I can do about it myself :(
@warrrkus a separate time trial mode would be nice I suppose, the current mode is inspired by old sega arcade racers, just with quake movement (the engine is after all a quakeworld engine)
Loved the feel of the shooting, for some reason it's quite satisfying! A bit hard to control and jump. Needs coyote time!
Very fun game! I had quite a few tries but was unable to get pass lap 0 haha! Music was nice and I enjoyed the feedback when hitting the robots c:

Nice chunky shooting mechanic, and having the penalty of being shot be a slow-down worked well with the time limit mechanics.
I had more difficulty timing the platforming jumps. A possible bug was that after falling into water, it seems that moving after respawn requires you to overcome some inertia before you start moving again, i.e. it takes a while from you press the movement button, and until the character starts moving again. Since you respawn right at the edge, that usually meant that I jumped and then fell right into the water because I hadn't started moving forward yet :D
Graphics, sound and music were nice, and shooting the robots with that oversize gun never got old :D

Hey nice game ! I love graphsim and mood, audio is great (Gaaaaaaame over !), my only concern is air control, i feel like i should get a bit more, but that's just a flaw in a really great game :D

I played it for a minute and then Windows Defender noped it away. It seemed cool for that minute though. :disappointed:

Very nicely done! I had a lot of fun playing and I love the gun sound effect and the "Game Over" sound. I don't know if I'm just bad at it or if the game is quite difficult :)
There's a learning curve. It was satisfying to make the first loop. It also feels great when you get up to speed and stay at it. Shooting robots was also funny.
Great entry :)

Game looks and sounds very nice and the feeling of running and shooting are quite good! Jumping could use some better air control or something though. I always felt awkward platforming on the rocks, especially if I first fell into the water, because then I started pretty much on the edge of the platform but with no momentum, so it was even harder to make that jump.
Note: I decided to trust the game despite the Windows Defender warning. I better not catch you mining Dogecoin on my laptop!
The voice is great, and mixed with the soundtrack makes a chill but fast feel. Also the way the robots comically fly off before exploding when you shoot them is great.

Nice
Like some other folks, I was having some trouble with the inertia and air control: I know from some past Ludum Dares how hard that stuff can be to lock in. Appreciated the challenge, though, and I did manage to complete a lap! Although apparently I was still considered a FAILURE. Ah well.

Low-poly graphics looks very cool! Remind me some old PC and N64 games! I love SFX, they're really on point! Music is also very catchy and stylish, it fits game well. I was able to complete one loop, the parts with tiny islands were hardest for me. I watched a gameplay video on itch.io - that was impressive! I wish I had such skills :)
UPD: Oh yes, the voice! That was nice :)
UPD2: So far, my most favorite compo entry!

Great entry as usual! Unfortunately I was only able to manage 3 laps silver with a best lap timing of 39s :( I think you should add an explainer on how to bunny hop, since it seems like you need that to get the best timings.

@jusw85 bunnyhopping is a tricky subject that requires a lot of practice to pull off well, however the sprint mechanic makes sure you can go fast enough without knowing a single thing about quake movement. I had someone send me a screenshot where they beat my own 6 lap record with 7 laps, without knowing how to bunnyhop :). it's often easier to screw yourself over by bunnyhopping but it's just so much fun if you know how it works.
if you're actually curious to find out how it works, I recommend this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HfpmGJiuJkc

This game is super fun and well-polished and has amazing game feel, but I think it's just too hard. Like a couple of others above, I had some difficulty with the air control and overly-tight time limits. I also second @somnium 's comment about repeatedly falling into the water because you respawn right on the edge with no momentum. I know the Quake engine is what it is, but I would have really appreciated some more platformer tropes to help with movement (tapping space for short hops, coyote time, etc.)
I've found mapping aim sensitivity to scroll wheel can let players adjust their aim on the fly without having to keep going in and out of menus. Something to keep in mind for future jams :)
I like the polish and presentation in the game. Most movement and controls feels great, with the exception of jumps (more on that later). Enemies, at least on the first lap, seemed fair; on second lap, the increased importance on aiming and shooting is a really nice touch.
I think while the core gameplay is fun, I have to echo what everyone else said on the lack of aerial controls making platforming difficult. The double-whammy with all the momentum taken away during respawn is really annoying, too. I unfortunately ended up more frustrated as a consequence, and did not have the urge to continue when these problems mounted.

Whoa, a quake engine based game in a game jam?! Nice! Just happened to come across this looking for another game in this jam and wanted to say I appreciate it. :)
