LD57 — Depths

The Depths of the Bag by Croped 2025-04-08T03:35:12Z

The embedded game worked for me (Windows/Firefox)! In answer to the character's question "why are there so many bodies?" it's because I'm not good at this.

Cute little game, died a lot, curious what I might discover further down the bag but I'd have to stop dying. Could use an in-game hint to dash with space because who scrolls down to read the instructions? (that was my first few deaths)

Reminds me of that terrible section of VVVVVV where it keeps going and going and I died a similar amount of times.

Great idea, executed well! Wouldn't *quite* call it "relaxing" but I enjoyed trying it out.

More games should give you the option to climb out of your ship and hit aliens with a baseball bat

For anyone having trouble filling your oxygen - I just tested this in Chrome and it worked (on my machine...)

Make sure you step the whole way inside the elevator (equipment menu will pop up) and the oxygen meter should get refilled.

If you were playing shortly after publication there was an accidental link to an older build, which has been corrected!

@mrs-wheelsx We can't take credit for the audio beyond selecting it - big thanks to Juhani Junkala (music) and shiru8bit (sfx) for the CC0 sound assets. Glad you enjoyed trying our game!

Had a great time, hope to do it again!

@pontax Have to thank Qirlfriend on lospec for this color palette, it worked out great for the underwater mood. Thanks for playing!

Can't get markdown link to work: lospec.com/palette-list/bluberry-6

@nyxkn Great feedback! I think most of those are things we'd have improved on if we hadn't run out of time.

The locked weapons in particular are 100% unfinished content, no way to access those. At one point the vision was for you to start with only basic equipment and unlock more in return for scrap, but as the deadline loomed it turned into being a loadout selection from all implemented equipment.

Deep Mech Salvage by bearcage 2025-04-10T04:15:59Z

@gamedevtraum We've built a couple missing features and balance changes into a "Director's Cut" version, if you wanted to try it out again with fullscreen mode! The engine is still set up to want integer scaling factors though, so unless you have a large screen it may not actually make the viewport bigger.

**Please use original versions for ratings, the Director's Cut has additional work after the jam deadline**

Doctrines - LD57 Game by Riggen 2025-04-08T04:26:10Z

Great aesthetic, love the card art, monsters, and all the flickering red candles. Sometimes hard to pick cards because they're packed close together and can end up stuck behind the ones next to them, and (like many of us) some loose ends left unimplemented. Cool concept!

Fun game! Wish the camera would zoom out so I could see all my hats!

If I Ran the (Alien) Zoo by UkuleleFury 2025-10-10T01:11:02Z

Fun little game! The controls feel great, art is cute, music has a perfect UFO vibe, and no bugs encountered. Sound effects definitely stand out for a jam game.

Star Collector by SeL1r 2025-10-10T01:15:41Z

Nice little game! I think I'd prefer if the camera were zoomed out a bit more, and the keyboard controls might feel better if A/D turned the ship and W accelerated. With the directional keyboard movement you don't get very fine grained control over where you're going.

Heart Keys | 心·键 by hijackxu 2025-10-10T01:33:00Z

Neat concept, and nicely done with the art! A comment on the UI design, when you're toggling between two choices it's not obvious whether which of the orange or blue colors means selected and which is inactive, since both colors feel like a highlight. Also wish the walking speed was a bit faster, I guess the game is trying to feel relaxed but I'm in a rush to review more games :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

LD59 — Signal

Echo Ops #LD59 by nicardo 2026-05-05T02:53:37Z

Interesting idea, but feels a little too random. Sometimes the objective is the very first thing you get a ping for, others you fly around for the entire timer and never get a hint of it. I liked the level rendering with the grayscale and slight color fringing.

Signal Breaker by Senso 2026-05-05T03:13:24Z

Very nice! We also did a bouncing line game, so it's fun to play a different take on it. Really like how hovering over each target gives you a reminder of what it does, and the effects on hitting things are nicely done. Biggest issue I had is framerates, sometimes it's fine but other times it really chugs and it's hard to aim or see what's happening after you shoot.

@lemma If you played in Safari, there's a compatibility issue with the CRT screen shader. If you have Chrome, give that a try!

If we do a post-jam update it's on the to-do list to add an option to disable the CRT visuals.

@tarikmoguchel as far as we're concerned any solution is a valid solution. We've managed some weird ones during development and I think it's even more fun than solving it the intended way. Thanks for playing!

@Nidoprince we narrowed down where in the development history the Firefox issue cropped up, and it may be related to the engine settings for window resizing. Oddly it's Windows specific, Firefox on Mac works fine.

Probably won't be able to fix this on our end, but I hope you were able to check it out in another browser or with the Windows version!

In other browser compatibility news: for Safari users getting large black areas from the CRT shader, you can try the Director's Cut version where so far the only change is an option in the video settings to disable the CRT shader. Wanted to add that on Monday night but ran out of time.

The Dark Spots in Space by babyfoodstudios 2026-04-21T03:19:19Z

Neat idea! Got a couple of them but not all, and no idea what fraction of the recordings I've found. I wish the messages displayed faster. Lots of waiting between guessing. Noticed one message (mentioning nanobots) didn't fit inside the text box. Enjoyed the retro computer feel, interesting to have a game experience made to feel like it's something not gamey. Great work, overall very polished!

Suspect the slow pace would vibe better if I didn't need to get to bed, it's been a long three days!
