The Lion's Song by LeafThief 2014-08-31T19:28:00
Very poetic.
It would be very cool if the song in the ending would change based on the decisions made.
Also RAWR! ;)

Nice idea.
But sometimes the controls get stuck. I think it happens when you try to move diagonally, but I'm not sure about that.
Cool idea. But the third dimension was too hard for me. ;)
Nice to see a purely recreational game around here.
Very relaxing and beautiful graphics.
Just wow!
Really creepy atmosphere. Music, artwork, everything fits nicely.
Cool graphics.
I only wish the boat was faster.
Cool game. Graphics and sound fit very well. Took me some time to figure out what the green power does.
Is it intentional to just ram the enemies in the first world? It works much better than making them shoot each other.
Cool puzzles.
And I like the sound when you hit an asteroid ;)
Cool game. And an awesome amount of levels.
But the poor guys in the second last level... ;)
Cool game. Except for the non-existent audio it felt like a complete game. I wish there were more levels.
Should be fixed now. Had some trouble with the hosting website...
Thank you very much for all the comments. We see there is a lot of room for improvement for the next LD. :)
@mramazing: yes, there seems to be a problem with chrome and our game. We are not sure why. But we will add a warning to the description. Thanks for the bug report. ;)
Quite a challenge.
Very cool to see a coop game here. :)
Intersting graphics style.
Nice message. But it would be really helpful to see where you shoot.
Cool entry. Controls could have been a bit more precise but except for that quite a cool game.
Very impressive. Great idea, smooth gameplay.
One of the best games I have seen so far in this LD.
There seems to be an issue with the weapons somehow. I purchased the Railgun but I couldn't equip it until I also purchased the lightsaber.
Quite something different.
And some of the encounters were really fun. They had some nice references.
Not bad for first entry in my opinion. The sound is really anoying though. And I didn't get what the boxes in level 3 were for. I just walked through the black and won.
But cool idea.
Cool idea.
The puzzles were great.
Good game. The graphics are really nice.
And: Yeay, I bought the universe. :)
Very cool atmosphere. Graphics and sound fit perfectly. Good job.
The name of the game is very promising.
I really would have liked to play it through but I couldn't make the first jump in level 4.
Controls are a bit unfriendly. W as jump button would have made it a bit easier to play in my opinion. Space as jump button only seems okay for me if you don't use the mouse.
Interesting interpretation of the theme. I really like it.
Neat little game. But I think the theme might have been integrated better, maybe by showing a constant change in the environment or something like that.
Great atmosphere. Very creepy.
The only downside is that I couldn't figure out how to get the other ending.
But a really good game.
I was a bit confused about under what circumstances the portal would appear. Sometimes it didn't appear for minutes and then again shortly after I restarted the level. But a cool endboss and music.
Nice little game.
Cool graphics.
YEEE-HAW!
Nice interpretation of the theme.
Audio and visuals are great.
The idea is quite interesting but to me it felt a bit forced that the "good" decisions always had real "evil" consquences while the "evil" decisions had "good" consequences.
SPOILER!
I found the decision for the drunk father really destroyed the fun of the game to me. Knowing the consequences I could only choose to restrict the freedom of a lot of people who didn't do anything bad, let the mother get killed or to murder the father. In my opinion murder is one of the worst things that can be done. The father has an alcohol problem. That is no reason to kill him. That is a reason to help him get out of it. Yet it was the only choice with "good" consequences. That was pretty frustrating especially as there would have been so simple solutions that would have helped the father and the rest of the family like sending him to a rehab centre.
END OF SPOILER
Maybe if the choices/consequences had been a little more subtle or more decions had been available I would have enjoyed it more.
Of course this is just my personal opinion. So please take no offence.
And you never get everyone satisfied with a game, so keep up the good work. ;)
Interesting idea. The hidden keys were a bit confusing though.
Some soundeffects for the timer would have been nice. Except for that it is a nice little game.
Cool gameplay.
And I really enjoyed the music ;)
Nice concept. It's a bit irritating that you can stick to walls. I first was confused if that was intended or not. Then I figured out what I was supposed to do. ;)
The idea seems really interesting. A pity you couldn't finish it. I would have liked to play it.
Cool game. But the enemies really mean business (played the not-updated version). ;)
Very cool game. It's quite fun to play. I think the trial-and-error form it has now might be more fun to play than a puzzle-type gameplay might have been. Great entry.
Cool game.
But sometimes the puzzles took me quite a while because I had to talk to the character several times about a specific item and I just couldn't remeber what I had already talked to him about so I had to try every item.
But really one of the best interpretations of the theme.
Neat little game. I enjoyed the beautiful graphics.
Great writing. Very abstract story but it fit nicely with the graphics and sound.
I really like the atmosphere of the game. I would have liked to see the connection to the real world.
Level 4 was a bit hard to find a good tactic for.
Also I think the theme might have been integrated better. It seemed more like one world. Maybe a different graphic style for each world or something like that.
But except for that nice game.
Cool idea. Great mechanics.
But I think the controls and solutions for the levels were a bit too unforgiving.
But all in all great.
I hate clifhangers...
But the graphics and writing are awesome. Include some actual gameplay and it would definitely be worth a post-jam version.
What is there looks interesting. Hopefully you will be able to finish your game next time.
Nice game. Cool idea with the leader board. Some fast paced music would have been nice I think.
Cool little game. Very smooth controls. Well done.
Cool idea. I found the gameplay a bit confusing. It took me awhile to figure out how to get points. But cool entry.
Just awesome. Feels very polished. Not much to say here.
One little thing though. In the last level I collected one coin, yet I got the stars for collecting all three coins.
The idea is nice, but there is definitely a lot of feedback missing. It also took me a while to fiigure out how to attack the people. Seems like you actually have to click on the person you want to attack. This seems rather counter-intuitive, as I tend to have the cursor farther away from ma character for steering.
Great game. Awesome graphics and sound. The mechanincs confused me for a while. I never was quite sure wether the air conditioning (I think) was on or off.
Nice little game.
I love the angry mob billboard. :)
The music however didn't fit too well. I think something a little more fast paced would better fit with the angry mob and the mood of the game.
Nice game. Such a cute cat. Some music and sound effects would be great.
Interesting idea. I think you should improve the tutorial. I didn't really get how to play from it. And using 'R' to restart didn't work.
But nice approach on the theme.
Nice little game.
Awesome to play. Beautiful graphics. Not much to improve I guess. Maybe different death screams. The same sound over and over again gets a bit repetitive.
Interesting idea and nice graphics.
However I don't see the use of the theme anywhere. Also it's abit annoying that you sometimes just die right as you spawn.
Some sound effects would greatly improve the mood.
Unique idea. Also smooth gameplay.
A very good entry. However I think that since you can stay on one line and never get caught you should either create some reasonable mechanic to prevent this or make it more obvious to the player that the ratio of points per second is important. Like displaying it somewhere on the screen. Maybe instaed of the total points.
That aside this game leaves nothing to be desired ;)
Nice graphics. I personally think that the amount of fairies to kill and the time to do that was both a bit much. For the simplicity of the gameplay I think a shorter time and less faries would have resulted in a better pacing. But nice entry.
Nice idea. But the gameplay isn't too exciting. But considering the time and what you pieced together it's pretty well done.
The graphics and idea are quite nice.
However controls are not too smooth. Also somehow I got some kind of Censored text and couldn't do anything anymore.
The first time I started the game (from the embedded player on this page) I got the graphics for the characters but everything else was just black. Worked on the second try. Not sure what caused this.
With abit of polish this game cut get pretty fun. All in all good entry.
The graphics were cool. Especially the intro was awesome. During gameplay sound effects would really have improved the feeling. Some screams from the villagers or something like that. Also I think the soundtrack did not perfectly fit the mood of the game. It was a great tune, but in my opinion something more comic-style like could have captured the mood of the intro.
Apart from that great entry.
Great game. I love the game over animation.
Cool idea. And grumpy cat. And probably the cutest avatar I have seen in this jam so far.
Nice little game. I liked the artstyle and gameplay. However it seems to me that the main view is pretty much useless. Steering via the minimap works perfectly so I just used that one. Maybe more dangerous enemies not shown on the minimap might create the need to use the main view.
And one more thing. The cultist view at the bottom was pretty awseome ;)
Great artstyle and mood. Except for the resolution bug it seemed very polished. Well done.
Art style is interesting. Also the idea behind the gameplay has potential. However I had real problems figuring out how to play even after reading the instructions. Seperated moving and grabbing mechanics would really improve the game. Also maybe decrease the difficulty in the beginning a bit. That might make it easier to figure out what to do.
But for a game made by only one person I think it's a pretty decent entry. Keep it up.
Just awesome. One of the best entries I have played so far.
Some minor suggestions: the sound of the footsteps of the monster didn't fit to a monster in my opinion. Also the rising sound at the end is a bit too long. And maybe you could do some blood splash on the screen during the scream ;)
Blupp.
Cool idea. Great graphics. The turns however seemed a bit short to play.
I had lots of fun playing the game. Awesome and unique idea. One of the best entries I have seen so far.
Good idea and beautiful graphics.
However the screen of the web version is too big. I was missing a third of the screen. Maybe provide a smaller one.
Also the windows download link is the link to the web version.
Some sound effects would also be great and improve the feeling.
Great game. Awesome visuals. Some of the best I have seen this jam so far. However some kind of winning/losing condition would improve the gameplay.
