Beautifully done. π
Very good game. It would be nice if the background music kept playing instead of restarting every time I died. Iβm dying too often to find out what the rest of the song sounds like
Yes! The concept really works! I wasn't convinced at first, but after the second level, I was like, "Hmm, interesting..." Play it and keep smiling until the end. Now it's time to touch some grass!
Perfectly short and to the point. I can definitely think of a few ways it could have gone lower-tech than a text adventure, though! The gun shooting off-center was a bit awkward, but I guess that wasn't an issue for long.
Didn't expect the downgrade thing by the art, so nicely done on this theme! Thanks for the warm words at the end <3 Congratulation!!!
Always amazed by anyone throwing themselves at 3d for the compo. Fun little game! First of all, it was really hard to aim my pew pew in the first level. But surviving using only the double jump? I can't even get past the second platform. I thought it might be some kind of joke where I had to turn around and jump the other way, but nope. So apparently, I'm just not good at 3D platformers. But I like the idea. Very well done!
@incd021 I'm sure you can make it! !>there are several paths but the simplest is probably by going under!
more heavy spoiler: !>you might enjoy the rest of the game even if you don't like 3D platformers ;-)
@yorze I'm sure you can make it :-). Hang on!
Congratulations... But... xD
Such a fun game, I really enjoyed it! Watching it slowly downgrade level by level was a great surprise
AAAAH this flipped it on me! I died a few times at the second level... then was ready to quit. Then read some of the comments... then tried again and SO GLAD I DID.. What an ending! :D This has a lot of heart.
This is such a neat idea and wonderfully executed. I think my favourite iteration was the 2D with pixel art in the background although the ascii style was also very nice. The ending message was very heartwarming.
A silly thing was that I hadn't noticed there was a double jump so that twist didn't phase me at all :P Perfect execution on the theme of old tech in some many different examples.
That was so cool!! I'll fully admit that the first thing I did was hug the enemies multiple times, their deception definitely worked on me. Initially I thought it would just take away your own powers aka I'd lose the double jump much earlier, but the real twist was significantly better :) I kept thinking that many levels had to be the final ones, yet you had more than I expected! My favorite was the text adventure, hugged the enemy again immediately of course. Also shoutouts to the text animations & positioning, especially in the intro, those were a neat touch. It felt a little weird that the background was updated to be medieval yet the enemies & platforms remained the same futuristic ones in the pixel art section, but minor nitpicks aside this was an awesome game!
I'm sorry @frogravity for the deception :P Please keep hugging people in real life ! :)
Itβs a funny idea with extreme simplification, but Iβd like to see more variety in the locations. The novel at the end provided a bit of exposition, but only positive emotions.
A funny game
It's a good gimmick!
So creative, so fun. In most of these LD games I rate fun pretty low, but this was brilliant. 5/5.
Game design expertise really shows.
Great game, this was a lot of fun! It did seem like similar inputs across all the modes resulted in the same outcome, it could have been neat to see twists on the level each time too. I don't think I ever got impaled by the horizontal spike at the end. Also, you forgot to put WASD for the controls with the others ;). But really the twist was great, I didn't expect it!
@mikeware wdym wasd control for the other? You're right that I forgot to add jump on 'a' but appart from that it ought to be playable with wasd? If not, it's a bug maybe 'cause of keyboard layout π€
Nice! I'm happy it went somewhere with the theme and fun to see and predict how far it would regress.
@sevansevan yes they work, but they're not listed in the in-game instructions:

You should call out the movement keys here too (and it'd be good to put on the itch page itself for folks). Just a minor detail/feedback item.
Cool game idea. I liked it.
Wow talk about descending into old tech. Nice game. It got med hooked. I just had to complete it π Definitely a favourite from this jam! Well done!
Very nice structure. The constant stripping away of elements until all that's left is to turn it off and go outside... Brilliant! By far my favourite interpretation of the theme so far. Very well done!
This was very fun! I didn't expect it to change, and the way it removed something every round made it oddly satisfying.
This was such a fun surprise! Lots of jam games are just like the first level because they ran out of time, so I was totally about to close it and move on when the unique angle was revealed. Super fun and weirdly heartwarming, congrats to you.
Delightful. I honestly clicked on this game entirely because I thought the 3D programmer-art in the thumbnail was really charming, but I was not expecting the masterpiece that this was.
In the spirit of taking things to an earlier era, the old Ludum Dare website had a feature where you could give unique awards to developers. I'm awarding you the **Less is more** award.
That's uh... a red ribbon attached to a gold medal. Obviously.
I have recorded myself playing the game to provide extra feedback:

Wow @100th-coin i really like your benevolent video, that's so cool! Also your playthrough was kinda perfect, so that was super neat :-)
