The physics worked right and the way it was possible to fail was good too. Perhaps some different objects with different weights for the disc? No sure you needed the little birds in the background on the left.

lol, love the Cawtastic/Cawtastrophe sound effects. Music was great too. Overall, it was a lot of fun just seeing how the physics would work. Agreed with @laurenceogden that if you ever want to expand the concept it might be interesting to introduce some different types of objects.

Simple but interesting game. Loved the sound effects. The Physics where nice. but you can just knock off all the cubes and still win.

crefossus 2021-10-07 15:54

@sploky Thanks for playing & feedback! Level 3 is designed to teach you that you can knock off the cubes (some naturally fall off) and level 4 as a reinforcement/test. The 2nd level has a dark cube that you can't pick up/move so maybe I should have made a quick 5th level to mix both ideas :)

Granted I should have made a lot more challenges and object types.. ha

Interesting game! Fairly unique direction for the jam, good job

nekowei 2021-10-10 03:09

good idea for the theme, audio and 3d art are so cute!

wish there are more levels to enjoy the gameplay:)

I love this audio, and I like the bird model too. I enjoyed the ambiance a lot, and just let it sit on the results screen for a time so I could soak it in. :bird: Oh yeah, title screen and bgm is awesome too.

profugo-barbatus 2021-10-11 03:17

Not bad, but definitely needed some polish or content - It was less puzzle solving and more watching everything fall off and the puzzle eventually balance itself.

You used a lot of tools to create this three dimensional world so I think you have good skills to improve it. I like the angular bird, it would be great if you tried to give it some life by animating it: it could jumping up and down or flapping its wings when the platform stabilizes so you as a player have emotional connection with digital character. Congratulations for completing the game on time and good luck with your development :bird:

Quite fun to play, I figured that if I remove all the blocks, I win ^^ Maybe by making the physics a bit slower and the cube would be the babies, this could solve it, anyway, well done!

crefossus 2021-10-16 20:44

@foxtrot-roger thanks for playing and feedback. It's intended for this (lvl 3 should teach you since I set them up to topple off automatically).

I was hoping people would feel smart when they do it but I'm getting quite an interesting reaction. Probably because it's too dominant a strategy and works on all levels except the 2nd?

I guess there just needs to be more levels after with other solutions (ran out of time/was making music 😂)

knipsch 2021-10-17 03:51

I'm pretty sure "I'll level with you" in the text was a pun and I respect it. Also loved the tiny voice in the background saying "cawtastic." It was great to see a 3D game and I always like seeing Unreal entries! The bird was extremely charming and I love the materials on it; the little hat is excellent. Textures in the background weren't as strong as they were on the bird, and were a bit muddy and dull; brighter colors would have matched the bird a bit better. Gameplay itself was not very hard, and was a little confusing; I wish I'd had more incentive to save the cubes from falling off. I did like the color-changing column in the center, which helped the gameplay a lot. Overall, very nicely done!

crefossus 2021-10-17 05:07

@knipsch best feedback yet, thanks for your thoughts. I'm glad someone caught that joke before it flew away 😂. I didn't like the outcome of those textures either but also didn't think to try something bright/clean and happy either. So maybe for post jam I'll experiment. The game design needs a whole lot of work for sure

zimny11 2021-10-17 21:08

The sound effect are adorable! As others pointed out, different shapes of blocks will add to the game. I think, other shapes of platform (on which you put blocks) will do that too. Or maybe even multiple level platforms. Anyway. It was fun to try it out. Good job!

pcmaster 2021-10-21 09:53

Points up for the music and sounds. Points up for the jokes. However, it's too easy to cheat the game by throwing all the cubes off. Still congratz on putting this together :)

EDIT: Forgot to mention the bird mesh, killed it :)

skleembof 2021-10-21 16:41

Great job with the mechanics, the physics are predictable and consistent which makes the gameplay feel very polished. The design and balancing does need some work though since the strategy of just throwing away cubes is too powerful. I think a simple way to fix that is by rewarding the player for the amount of cubes left on the board. Just a simple cube counter would significantly change the way I approached each level and would add more depth. Alternatively, I think if you just changed the cubes to adorable baby birds players would naturally try to save them all, especially if you add a cat or wood chipper below the platform to raise the stakes!

Also I want to thank you for playing my game on stream.I really appreciated your comments and enjoyed watching you try to figure out my poorly explained and unfinished game in real time. Something about watching someone play your game live just hits different.

coderaurus 2021-10-21 18:56

Really loved the audio, especially the stage clear melody. I think you caught the atmosphere on point overall and it the game enjoyable. Others have pointed out a lot of good feedback and I concur. Maybe having an actual incentive to keep the eggs in the nest and having more levels could have added a lot.

Good job! Also... did I catch a hatchling bouncing on the ground?

I think that many experienced players have come across the fact that it is quite problematic to find a slot machine that immediately draws you in. I have already tried a large number of slots, and I can say that slot machines like https://gry-hazardoweonline.pl/gry-777/ as in this review are most suitable for me now. If you have also played any of these slots, I would be grateful if you could share your opinion.

Do you have a favorite hobby? During my quarantine, I became interested in playing online slots, which is a great way for me to relax emotionally. I especially like the range of games on Betsofa casino http://betsofa-canada.com/ They have an easy-to-use site interface and you can easily find the online slots you need. In addition, there is always a support service here, so if you have any questions, they will answer them fairly quickly.
