Very nice. Graphics and models look good and move fluidly. Lighting was nice too, maybe it was just my computer, but were you guys using baked or realtime lighting? I would suggest baked next time, because I believe the lighting was making it lag a little. Also, kinda need to have something that shows what the command inputs are for someone NOT playing with an Xbox controller. VERY WELL DONE!!!!!!!

magikos 2018-08-14 14:56

@danielefisher Thanks! It was realtime lighting. We wanted to have instructions, etc - just didn't make the time cut. Spacebar will drop your flare.

Solid game! I'm a sucker for mazes, so this is right down my alley. Inclusion of single player and couch co-op modes is a huge bonus!

belphegor 2018-08-14 23:15

Love it! Nice polish. Well executed.

Nicely done guys, you have my vote!

j-carlson 2018-08-16 04:37

@jeplmr Thanks for your feedback. the couch co-op is great and fun to play, but we also wanted to give the individual a way to experience the game as well, so we made the changes to add a single player experience as well as the web version

Nice job guys. I liked how the player movement animation was so smooth and satisfying, and how the graphics gave me a N64 kind of vibe. I like how there was a flare function, which had helped mark where you have been in the maze. I liked how you implemented realtime lighting in the game, which is quite a cool feature. However there was a problem after getting 5 coins. There would be random coins idling in the middle of pathways, which you could not collect making it quite confusing for me. Overall, the game was really nice.

j-carlson 2018-08-16 04:48

@julz thank you for playing and your feed back. The max coins you can get is 5, after you get 5, the teleporter activates and you race to find it and go to the next level. We started out as a couch co-op party game, so we put enough coins random for every player to get 5, but only the first 3 to the teleporter make it to the second level, then the first two to the third level and finally the soul survivor to get to the last teleport to win.

I have no friends to play with :sob: Thanks for having a single player option. I found the mouse sensitivity crazy high, got turned around a lot. Thankfully the flares help.

acdimalev 2018-08-16 07:18

Oof. This game is completely unplayable on an Intel HD 5500.

j-carlson 2018-08-17 05:22

@acdimalev could you possibly supply some screen shots or elaborate a little more. My wife plays the windows version on her 6 year old Toshiba laptop that has an intel hd 4600 with no issues.

I played solo, maybe another time i could try multiplayer. Found 5 coins and then lost at the first level. Didn't saw a coin and when i bumped into it, the sound scared me xD Really loved the floor art Got really lost! Thought that coins may guide me I think that maybe with the joystick and other players, i would have enjoyed it much more!

acdimalev 2018-08-18 07:33

@j-carlson whoah... so I did a bit of troubleshooting. Running the Web GL version because I'm not on a Windows machine. Chrome is running the game just fine, but under Firefox I'm getting framerate in the single digits. I'm not too sure why.

cristihkj 2018-08-18 13:11

Great game! Very cool and interesting! :D

larnin 2018-08-18 13:46

Cool visual and gameplay. There are some performance problems on the web version. The camera is realy slow, it take like ... 20 sec to turn at 90°. Without theses problems, it can be realy fun :)

j-carlson 2018-08-20 05:48

@acdimalev Thanks for the info on Firefox, we tested it in IE and Chrome. We are looking at a few things we can do to help with performance that might help that.

pnghasemi 2018-08-20 11:33

Nice visuals. It really caught my eye. Are you going to work on a post-jam version?

diego-manarim 2018-08-21 19:32

Wow!! Very fun game! Congratulations for the game!

j-carlson 2018-08-22 06:44

@pnghasemi thank you for your feed back and yes we are going to work on a post-jam version. With pretty much any game jam project you don't have the time to do things the way you really want to, you just try and get the best you can in the time frame you have. We plan to pretty much rework the game from top to bottom adding in a ton of the things we came up with for the game, but just didn't have the time or man power to get it in.

j-carlson 2018-08-22 06:45

@diego-manarim thank you for your feed back. We are glad you enjoyed the game.

I absolutely loved it! The things I liked most was the lights, shadows, wall textures and visual effects. The music was utilized very well too and ambiance as a whole was exceptional.

Things that need improvements are the mouse look which was really too much, I was confused many times with which direction I came from :) Also, I think flares should be a little more especially since it is so dark and coins should emit more light and for a longer time.

Great entry :)
