Cute! Happy that the black cat hole won't eat my ship. Would like to be able to skip the tutorial.

thats a really cool game, it looks amazing and the mechanics like upgrades and the hook are really cool, good job
Cool game, graphics were really nice, especially the cosmic backgrounds. It would be cool if there were more background objects closer to the player (on a parallax layers that move faster) - sometimes, when I was flying without enemies around, it would look weird, as if I was not moving at all.
On my first playthrough, when I was supposed to upgrade something, I thought I'd better not spend my precious EXP yet and wait to upgrade dash first, but then nothing happened and I thought I was softlocked :D But having interactive tutorial in a jam game is impressive anyway, so gj for that.
I loved the art style. And the gameplay it's simple but it catchs you and i had to play until i took all planets. And to be honest, i wanted to be able to upgrade all the upgrades to max hahaha.
Was a little scared to approach the black whole cat in the tutorial, but I'm glad he turned out to be pretty chill. Like the overall vibe of the game most of all, good blend of audio and visuals.
wow I can honestly say I think this is my favorite game of all the games I've played so far. The art, especially the background was beautiful and the music felt very atmospheric and fitting to the game. Plus I felt that the gameplay was engaging and had nice progression! at first it was a bit of a struggle, trying to shoot enemies without being hit and lining up the anchor to snag planets, but after a few upgrades I found myself blasting the enemies away and doing dash-drift-hook shots into the plants and delivering them like a pro.
Loved it!!!!
I really enjoyed playing through this. Lovely little space game! :cat2:
I really liked your art, it looks really nice and cute :) I had to start game like 3-4 times until I get grip on the mechanics so I can finally beat it without dying. Nice entry!
Good game. I had fun. But the character's progress is not reset and even transferred to enemies which makes it harder to pass the game after the first death
Lovely background, great use of parallax :)
What a fantastic game! I really enjoyed the graphics and the concept itself. It was fun and enjoyable to play. The only thing missing is sound effects and some great background music, then it would be absolutely marvelous!
Impressive background, shimmer shaders, and space VFX in general. I wish some more time had been spent on sound design, as the silent bullets and XP really felt like a missed opportunity. My biggest complaint was the forced tutorial on every restart for such a difficult game. I died four times and would have given it another two runs but I was really tired of the tutorial by then.
I had a bit of an issue with readability as well, which can always be a problem on rich pixel art games, especially during a jam. Specifically, you put a lot of little "background" planets that I can't feed to the beautiful black hole kitty and I want to! Perhaps the real planets needed a strong outline layer, or a glow effect or something. Additionally, the black-hole direction indicator seemed like it disappeared sometimes.
The upgrades were cool. I would have liked a little more initial health considering the number of enemies that appear.
For controls, I was often unable to rotate while accelerating, which is a pretty big issue for a gravity sling-shotting space shooter game.
omg... its SOOOO PRETTY!! What the heck! I was shook coming out of the tutorial.
Things I liked about the gameplay: - The dash and multi-shot upgrades were fun. - The upgrades felt significant in terms of gameplay (although I don't think they reset when I die?)
Things that could've been better: - The doppler effect with the bullets feels a little janky. I think if you added the velocity of the ship to the bullet it would feel better. - Skip the tutorial when dying. I died to the first group of monsters 4 times, and doing the tutorial 5 times was not fun. - Needing to turn before moving to dodge makes the game feel a bit clunky to control. - Some basic sound effects would've gone a really long way to round the game out. - Having some sort of progression or goal to work towards would've motivated me to play longer. Some ideas off the top of my head: - Some kind of time trial to feed the cat as many as you can in time X - Planets get bigger and bigger (maybe requiring better upgrades) until it gets so big something happens
Nice graphics and animation of the cat!
Loved the art style!! Planet cat was super cute. Game was hard as heck tho, way more life and some kind of strafe would've helped a lot. Music fitted nicely and the tutorial was very well done (although having to do it every time gets old fast). Had fun, nice work!! 👏👏
