Such a creative concept, had a great time trying it out.
Love the humor and mood! Not sure the plunger did anything. Was sopping wet the whole time. You know who else was sopping wet? Fifi. That damn dog got outside in the rain and tracked its dirty paws all over my new linoleum.
I really enjoyed this game! Managing several characters at once makes the gameplay interesting and creates a real sense of urgency. It fits the theme very well, with lots of details conveying the feeling of old, worn-out technology. The music is great too! A more thorough tutorial would make it even better, though.
I loved the tone and vibe of the game. The voice acting was hilarious.
A really creative and charming game! Combining word-based article writing with managing an old steam-powered printing press makes for a unique and entertaining experience. And I love music!
The concept is cool! But the game could really use a tutorial. On-screen button prompts would help too, since I got a little confused. I kept wanting to press A to move left, but it would take me straight to the specific screen assigned to that key. It also took me a while to realize that the power goes out when the fire in the furnace dies. It would be nice if the plunger detached automatically once you pulled it back far enough. Having to click again feels like an extra step, and I didn’t immediately realize I needed to do that after pulling it back.
The game really hooked me right from the start! I especially loved the storytelling at the beginning. It immediately pulls you into the game's atmosphere and makes you curious about what happens next. I also really liked your art style it looks beautiful and fits the overall atmosphere perfectly. The voice acting is also really well done, making the events feel much more alive. Overall, the game left a really great impression on me!
I like the idea, and I like busy work games but the controls felt a bit off unsure why. Generally the concept and humor was well done.
Nice Idea and overall experience! Good job, especially the spoken dialog amused me a lot. I only was missing a little bit of feedback if I did a good job, because I felt like I didn't do, but I am unsure if this was even measured or not. But maybe thats part of the concept ^^ so more a matter personal taste, if intended behaviour.
This game is so much fun! Liked everything, gameplay, humor, graphics, very well done :>
I love the idea of stitching together words to create newspaper clippings, and I could imagine this as a Jackbox type game to compete with other players for the funniest headline. But even though I tried very hard to make a funny article, the controls disagreed with me. A camera shake caused a lot of misclicks, which ruined any good article halfway through. The failing generator was just a nuisance after some time and distracts you from what you were trying to write. The voice lines also repeated too much and got very annoying after some time. I would have loved to play this further, especially because your idea, graphics and audio are stellar otherwise. This is the best I got in the end.
This was so funny and inventive! Clipping words together to create ridiculous newspaper articles like 'Frank is very much like the slug' made me laugh out loud. Balancing the article writing while tending to the attic forge and patching the roof makes for such a fun, chaotic multitasking loop. The tactile paper aesthetic looks awesome! Left full ratings across the board! If you have a minute later to check out more jam projects, we’d love if you took a look at our game Meow Bomb as well. Best of luck with the jam!
The art, voice acting, and music are truly incredible! I really loved the mechanic of grabbing and cutting out words to assemble an article, it’s a fantastic idea xD. I wasn’t able to finish or put together a coherent article, but it was so much fun jajaja! Well done! Sin título.jpg
Everything about this was great! The voicelines were very funny (also were they improvised?? if so that makes them funnier). Had a lot of fun playing this on call with my friend and laughing at the silly articles (unfortunately did not screenshot any of them so I can't share 😢). Excellent stuff!
Haha the mood is great, the music fits well and the overall idea is super fun! The gameplay feels a bit overwhelming and it's kinda hard to achieve what I wanted but had a nice time
Amazing entry. You can just write the most bizare newspaper articles. Very fun. If you expand the game, maybe with some more mechanics, a story and/or goal.
Crazy concept, would love if this were multiplayer.
Well that was interesting... :D
I liked the concept and the humor, but unfortunately I could not get any sane sentences on the paper. I did not really understand the plunger, so was getting slightly frustrated trying to spot the good words before they were getting soggy as yesterdays noodles 😅
The camera was moving slightly and affecting the word that was being pointed, so many times I clicked and it shifted just before, ending up choosing the wrong words.
Great experience, nonetheless! Oh, and great to see you did not use any AI :)
Great job on the art and audio. The art complements the story being told and makes trying to figure out how to write the correct thing more enjoyable.
The voiceover was fun to listen to for the introduction, and I listened to some of the elevator talk before skipping through it. The elevator talk was not synced up automatically with the text, was extra quiet, and I wanted to play more of the main gameplay. I could imagine trying to have the voiceover while looking at which words to select would be confusing, so good job on not combining those steps.
At first I thought I was trying to copy the headline using the text from random documents, but could not find the next word to match, so I ended up trying to write something else. After a few levels I realized anything goes so the game is more of a sandbox or a toy without a concrete goal.
Navigating between the 3 areas felt a little backwards because I had to press Up to look down from the leaks onto the paper, but I got used to it while playing. The tabletop layout and screenshots are eye-catching, it reminds me of the back of a board game with the different sections and tools to use for puzzle solving or crafting some kind of sentence.
