Really good job making each move feel important. Sacrifices have to be made, especially later on in the game. I do wish that charging would also trigger an attack. I felt the difficulty really does ramp up nicely for a short game. Good!
Very nice graphics and mechanics! I liked rolling around and I would have liked attacking at the end of the roll also. I'll have to come back and play the post compo later.
I liked how you got more maneuverable the closer to your eggs or enemies you were. When I had a few eggs close together it felt cool to be able to jump all over.
Some instructions would have been nice. I figured it out, but I was really confused for the first little bit.
It took me a round or two to learn the rules, but once I did I found this game quite fun. Interesting decisions about where to move to maximize my baby defending duties brought the fun factor. My only critique would be to make the "you cant move here" noise a little less annoying. Other than that, very well done!
Well, your turn-based game on hexagonal tiles just kinda like my entry :p Overall a great strategy game!

Amazing game! I downloaded the code hoping to learn how it works. I like how nothing happens for a while at the start so you get used to the controls.
I cannot compile the source you have provided. It is the Assets folder with missing scripts.

Sorry detective, I had to strip out some 3rd party assets, so the original upload was only what I created during the 48 hours. I've re-uploaded including all of my own starter kit code now.
It is making use of this commercial asset, which I cannot upload, but which is available on the Unity asset store: https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/66291
You will not be able to build without that, obviously.
If you take a look, let me know what you think!

One of the more unique puzzle games I've played so far. Quite enjoyable and challenging when it ramps up and theres like 15 enemies on screen. Killing multiple at the same time also feels quite satisfying. Good stuff :D
That was a really interesting game, clever realization !!! Becoming really hard quickly though :D
My high score is 9...

I really like the gameplay. At first, i thought it was easy, but it become more and more difficult and every move you make become important. Very nice
Nice game overall the audio noise warnings were the part I did not enjoy much. Thanks

Nice job with creating something interesting out of a very simple set of rules. It could almost be a board game. I agree that the attack on roll is a good change. I think it's a little unsatisfying that the only end seems to be an inevitable loss.
Really neat design, very clever. It has a lot of depth despite its only two actions.
It's also really sad when your babies get stolen.
Thumbs up!

I love strategy games, casually now I'm studying the algorithm of Dijkstra and A *. My highest score is 13. Good game and very good job.
Very cool! Is this inspired by Hoplite? I'm a big fan of this sort of game. The difficulty seems spot on to me; when I lost a baby it always felt avoidable, if I'd just planned ahead better, and some of the bigger moves (especially with the longer jumps, which feel great) are very rewarding.
It's not often that I come back for a second or third try on a Ludum Dare submission, but you have a knack for providing infectious little gameplay hooks that keep me thinking later on about how I might improve my play, and I think this submissions's going to have that effect again.
Nicely done!
Nice, well made game! I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 37 games, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/YiLAPTz00w0
Nice compo! really cool in everything, the mechanics are great and really makes you consider your next move sometimes. Cool panic moment when the board starts being overwhelmed by so much red, although it can be handled since you shoot at all the surrounding hexagons.
Really would be cool to see the game on mobile platform :)

Thanks Jupiter! It's really valuable to watch someone play those first few moments live. I wasn't sure whether to include more tutorial, or if the empty space of a few turns was enough for the player to self-discover the rules. I was happy to see it didn't take you long at all to see how it works, but it also helped me understand why a few players were complaining about the harshness of the "you can't move there" sound effect. Always appreciate the work you put in making those vids.

Great stuff, interesting and fun to play. If I had to be critical the music was missing and the sound could be better. Still though, fun and pretty

Nice stuff. At first I Thought there wasn't too much do this, but it gets surprisingly intense as the game goes on.
Being able to move further when next to eggs and enemies was a good design choice - it adds a decent amount of depth to the strategy which I didn't expect.
Good stuff!
Cool game, enjoyed playing it. I got 11 :)

This is a very nice entry! At first it's not obvious there is anything happening but once you discovered it's not real-time it's actually a good thing.
I liked the overall concept and strategy involved in playing this. Pretty unique! Also cool title.
Ha! Very interesting concepts. It's so simple but hard to master. Also, the sounds are very arcadey, like some good old SEGA cabinet. A little more polish and variations of enemies and you have an addictive little game. Congrats! :)
