Good concept. If the artwork was better would've made a great game.

Hey, pretty interesting game! I think it lacks of randomness to make the games more stressful. Events that make you loose a property for example would spice the games! Also, 50 years is a bit long, and we lack of ways of earning money.
But overall it's a good game about capitalism, I like the UI and the music! Well done ^^
I like the idea, and played it with a college. We played kinda for ourselfs and sometimes decresed the house value of the city the other player was in to annoy him. The card system is good but it would be a better experience as a single player game. (Probaply you did not had time for an AI) The interface design is nice, but the cards do not really fit to the rest. Its a nice management game but I guess it would have helped to concentrate on one city and let the people battle about this.
Great concept! I would totally choose this to spend evening over Monopoly :)
Love the gameplay art needs some more work
Cool gameplay! I know a lot of people who play this say this but the art could be improved. Great entry nonetheless!
I like the idea of playing around with percentages and investments but buying all the small properties and waiting for the larger percentages to pull in more cash with nobody able to stop you felt like too strong a move. Although, that's exactly what's happening in the real world so maybe the protest game just went over my head haha
Very nice. Just a few simple rules and actions but it creates a pretty complex system!
Huge file size and escape quits without confirmation. Couldn't get into it, so I don't think it's fair to rate it, but those two things were my first impressions of the game.
I wasn't sure what to think when I started but what a game. I unfortunately was playing this myself but I could see how this would make quite a multi-player game. I think this is a fantastic game.
Some thoughts for improvements: - Less city cards, or add them only as needed (1 per player, or add one when all of one type of building are bought) - A special card draw either every round or ever 5 rounds that affects all cities or something - Short, medium and long game settings 50 was a lot to go through and I was mostly messing around - The ability to hold on to your cards and use them at strategic times
@jk5000 Will there be a WebGL version? would actually like to rate it
@purpledartfrog No, there will not be a WebGl version. The game is made with the Unreal Engine, and it does not really support WebGL.
@jk5000 I was completely unaware of that - looks like something I would give a spin though. Ah well good luck with your entry.
(I'm on a work laptop - so not really allowed to download and install)
:purple_heart: :dart: :frog:
Nice game, I like the idea of an investment simulator game.
I liked the idea of the investments, well made!
The game could have used a little animation when you go to next player/turn. It took me some turn to understand that. Some feedback when clicking on buying and selling would have been cool for immersion.
Also, maybe change the color of the buildings when one player have it so we know which player is trying to buy stuff around us.
good concept its very interesting but a bit overwhelming at first..
Internet version of this would be a blast. Perhaps with simultaneous turns.
I love management games. A very cool font.
Great job!
I will definitely dream of a red-eyed penguin tongiht wink
Great work!

@lisek-gagatek I have updated the UE4 Linux compiler, and I have compiled the game again. I don't know if it will work for you now, but maybe. I general have difficulty with running UE4 games in Linux, but I know it usually can be done, but I don't use Linux a lot.
_This game is terribly ugly, and even though it made my eyes feel some incredible pain, it’s still not as bad as the games incredibly annoying music. Sadly the gameplay is more boring then reading the manual to my last HP printer, and if it was not for that music, this would have been greater at making me sleep then a really strong sleeping pill. And by the way, why the hell do you make multiplayer games, when no one has any friends? So overall I can only say, that this game is a really bad experience, and this is definitely the worst game ever made. Have a great day, even though you ruined mine._
In all seriousness, looks pretty neat, though I don't have anyone to do local multiplayer with at the moment, might come back to it later
Man, recently i have been checking out houses to buy, and its stressing me out.. so now i was thinking to relax and play some ludum dare games and this is what i get..
The game in essence is great. With some better graphics and better sounds (and maybe a little more options) it would be a game I would play. What @potkirland said it can be a bit overwhelming in the beginning. Not sure what to do, but it became clear over time.
Good concept! Like a more complex take on Monopoly, but too complex for me  Great job!
Very fun concept, I wish I had someone to play with now because it looks like tons of fun playing with someone else :-) (or maybe add an AI :-P)
I like the idea, and the realization is good. It took me a bit to understand all the things you can do.
like this game, especially the clearness of it compared with similar submissions and ofc it is GREAT FUN!
Nicely done! Barely could get it to run though.
Really cool game. The idea is interesting and it was fun to play
The game looked really nice, and I **had** to try it, but when I downloaded the linux version, my Desktop (Manjaro/plasma/Xorg) froze for a few seconds and then the program crashed. After booting up my Windows VM it worked fine though.
@pd-dev I don't know much about Linux, and maybe it's something with Manjaro. When I have tried to run my UE4 games on Linux it nearler never works, but I know other people had played them on Linux.
Unfortunately the game is crashing after about 2 minutes for me (windows) each time I open it. I think I would've liked it, as a math based game. Let me know if you upload any new versions and I'd like to try it out.
It looks like other people are having success with the Windows build, so maybe it's just my machine.
@mhorth do you get a crash report? Or do you maybe click on escape by mistake? The game just closes, when you click on escape.
Took me a few tries to get my head around it but its pretty cool. Very interesting idea and I do see the theme! :D
Interesting game. Perhaps should have some fluctuations in the markets to add a bit of variety and go more with the unstable theme. Post Ludum Dare play testing will help you improve this game a lot, I think.
@malcolm I like the idea that it's the players that makes the economy unstable. The more players the more unstable it gets. But you absolutely right the game still needs some balancing, but for now I have no plans to make a big Post Jam version, but maybe later.
This is a pretty interesting concept but I agree with some others that there should be a random element to it. The "steal a building" card also seems incredibly overpowered, especially as one player got to use it twice and wound up with about 5x the wealth of the other player. I really like the concept overall and it was fun trying to decide if improving my own properties or sabotaging the other player was better.
That's the most stable housing market I've ever seen!
I played with another player, but we got bored around turn 5... some random events that affected the different cities would have been good, otherwise there were not any particularly interesting choices it seemed. Whoever got the better cards seemed to win ^_^.
I liked the simplicity of it for a multiplayer game, and no hand means no hidden information, it's a nice structure for a pass the mouse around game, although it would have been nice to be able to scroll the city list (or a quick city selector menu) with the mouse too.
I think there is a neat concept here, but I don't think it's quite as fleshed out as it needs to be. As others have said, it's kind of a slow boil, and I couldn't bring myself to go past Year 20. I had to play by myself, so some of the impact was lost, but I never felt like there was enough interaction between players - I often found I was able to do better by focusing on my own properties and ignoring the second player. That is, until I drew a "Steal another player's property" card and completely crippled them, thereby ensuring my victory.
The escape to quit the game is rough because I wanted to close card description and for some reason pressed escape (just automatically). It would be great to add some confirmation for leaving game. But the game is pretty fun, quite thinking involved :) Needs some balancing but really cool. Thanks! Good luck!

Thank you all for playing, rating and giving feedback to my game. I will upload a small update to the game when the jam ends, but the game will still need some more work.
Hope to see you all again in another Ludum Dare.
The game is interesting, but it seems to me that it is better to do something more useful and earn money in order to really become rich. For example, trading. However, you should make sure that a broker such as https://www.fxcess.com/platforms/metatrader-4/ regulated by the financial market authority. The Government also monitors their activities and ensures that they operate in accordance with the rules and regulations of the market.
