Unfortunately this crashes so often I can't make any progress :( Good effort though, looks like you have something to work on and keep ya busy for a while!

diventurer 2011-12-19 19:14

Crashes? What do you mean, it's never crashed for me before, and I've tested it some times before I uploaded it.

diventurer 2011-12-19 19:28

Okay, someone told me that he waited a bit before starting to move the character, and it worked?

Idk what this is caused by since I really can't replicate it myself :/

rawbits 2011-12-20 20:09

I can't cross the bridge os I've gotten impatient and try to exit, but it promts that he option is not implemented... :(

diventurer 2011-12-21 02:27

Uhm, I bet it's because your resolution is low... So you're most likely pressing the "Options" button instead of the "Exit" ... If you're unable to press the exit button, just use the "X" on the caption bar :)

And btw, to get across the bridge, you just quickly go back, because the spike gets down faster than you can move past it :P

It crashed for me once, then it seemed like it crashed a few times but really I was getting hit in the head by a barely visible spike. You probably can't see the spikes on monitors with poor black levels. I was able to get to the end after dieing many times to head spikes.

I'm going to have an irrational fear of celings because of this game :P I felt really uncomfortable whenever I couldn't see the ceiling.

diventurer 2011-12-23 16:43

Haha xD

And the crashing is really weird...
It worked perfect for a friend of mine, my laptop and this computer... all others have reported a crash issue. O'well.
:)

a gameover could reduce player frustration on death, poping the menu is a bit brutal. I also had some crash, but that's a nice entry for your first time, I hope you enjoyed it.

diventurer 2011-12-24 09:31

Hehe, I know. When I tested it and died, I got frightened xD

Thanks, and yes, I enjoyed it very much :D

incobalt 2011-12-25 04:22

For me it always crashes when the spike just to the left of the pickaxe hits the floor. I'm no where near the spike when it happens.

angrygeometry 2011-12-29 03:59

i keep getting crashes too, which is a shame since you obviously put some work into this. a nice effort though for sure and i hope you release a post comp version!

diventurer 2011-12-29 16:08

Thanks :)
And yes, I'll most likely make a finished version :)

ayce 2011-12-31 12:07

Nice game for your first entry :D
The game never crashed for me, I have Vista 32 Bit.
So short? :O Anyway, I think you can do great things with the engine, just try to make the player do the tasks themselves (mini-game? xD). ;-)

diventurer 2012-01-02 09:43

Yeah, I didn't have enough time for that xD

Thanks :P

caranha 2012-01-03 01:31

Interesting premise, but a bit too much on the unfinished side. It was easy to get yourself stuck by mining the wrong blocks in the beginning. Also, pressing Q didn't seem to do anything with the blocks and the "bridge hotspot".

Thanks for the game anyway!

diventurer 2012-01-04 06:44

I never got stuck in the blocks :o
And if you have 17 blocks and you stand on the bridge task thing and press Q then yes. A bridge should appear. :)

Thanks for the comment :P

drzool 2012-01-05 19:00

crash, cant rate

redbone 2012-01-07 02:20

The game seems to crash whenever the spike near the pickaxe touches the ground.

diventurer 2012-01-07 14:07

Well. Thanks for trying anyway people :P
The only "fix" there is is to try multiple times until it doesn't crash. And I understand that's not really fun. (No guarantee it works either)
