Needs an explanation, I have no idea what I'm doing
Similar to @august1413 I wasn't sure what to do. I tried to follow the instructions but I struggled with figuring how where I was on the grid and how movement worked.
Those items with number on their right are the items to deliveritem.png You need to click the item, like package, until blue grid appeared, then the item can be moved.move.png
Graphics look minimalistic simple and crisp... bu some instructions would help
well would be good if there is a hints about what objects are for
Interesting game. I like the unique interactions, for example the laptop being able to remote control the mower. I did encounter some bug I think where the remote control did not work. I was hoping that the skateboard would be able to pick up other items too. Overall, I think it's a neat idea.
The downsides are that the controls can be difficult to understand. I spent about 10 minutes experimenting until I understood what was happening. The help prompt is misleading because it appears during a time where the no item is selected, and the commands do not work unless an item is selected.
This game will be posted on itch.io and get updated soon. All bug will be fixed.Movement inconvenience will be solved. Thanks for playing my game!🥰🥰🥰
Interesting idea. I think that it's a little unfair that you have to lose round after getting to the green doors to deliver item, maybe it would be better if just touching it was enough? Same with stairs. But for some reason the lamp works like stairs for me? Also the idea to switch floors with side mouse button is bold because I don't think everybody would have such a mouse.
Watch closely, you'll find delivering to the door requires interact but costs no time. For lamps, when I'm working on that game, a weird thought stroke me that "These items can climb lamp to reach higher place,so this make lamp a closer but limited variant of stairs",so I made this mechanic.Side mouse button is sure not a great idea, but it is convinent when you're clicking around with mouse.
not sure what to do. needs more explanation. Also assign a different input to floor navigation. Not everyone will have mouse with side buttons.
I don't know, I just spammed the objects that appeared on top level to the green door, didn't really interact with other levels. I think it would be good to keep the object selected after moving in case the player want's to move it again. I had to click 2 times every time I wanted to move the same object. Swapping worked weird, I wanted to swap 2 objects and start moving the second one, but instead they swapped again, as if the first object was still selected, even after unselecting. I don't know if it's intentional but some objects lost value while a different object was moved, some did not lose value, it was a bit weird and seemed inconsistent.
I can see that idea going further, but I think it's too buggy. I could send items up/down stairs, but I received nothing for it and I didn't know how to go to different floors myself. I tried right-clicking to no avail. I also ended up without any items left to move.
There are some nice ideas here. Using the mower to move things around and the variety of actions and item movements. I read up a few comments that the computer can move the mower, which is pretty neat.
Hm, I feel like I couldn't switch floors as it calls for a side mouse button? My mouse has Left, Right, and Center/Scroll. No side button on this basic one, and none of the buttons I did have worked for it. So I didn't get to see what the other floors have to offer.
It would be good as @ellaris says to keep the last used object selected to allow another move, rather than needing to reselect it to move again, especially for items which can only move one tile at a time. Still getting the hang of swapping, but did make some deliveries of other items by moving the package next to the door and getting them swapped.
Congratulations on making and submitting your first compo game!
I really liked the game, congratulations on making and submitting your first! This jam was also my first and my project was much father from perfect than yours.
While it is slightly buggy and I was confused for quite a bit at the beggining, I (think / hope) I figured it out by the end and played it quite a bit. Some ideas were nice, some felt out of place but, overall a good experience!
I like the tilemap and simplicity of this game. The items which you need to move were cute, and the tiles kept an organized look. Also different step shapes made the objects more interesting. Indeed it took some time to read the instructions and understand what the game does - the instructions on the bottom helped a lot. On user experience having to double-click every move was difficult - would have been better to select the item once and then keep moving until deselected. Also I have no side button on my mouse i figured - so could not test how to switch floors? Anyway - nice job on a game which works!
As others have touched on: the movement could be better and the purpose of the different floors wasn't clear. I did like the graphics and the idea of objects having different move distances and abilities.
I called it after 500 rounds. I had 2224 remaining money.
I took box and video game all the way to red door but they didn't want it haha ^^ fine ill just throw them over the edge
There are some interesting ideas here, like figuring out what the objects do. Most issues I have with it has been brought up by others. Mainly, any goal outside of delivering to the green square on the first floor is unclear.
I liked the splash screen and the art style. I also like the puzzle element of trying to decide which item to deliver first. As others have already pointed out, the introduction and on-boarding was a bit rough. I was also not sure if the game had an ending so i played until i had ~1000 and closed the game. In any case, thank you for sharing your game. I liked playing around with the mechanics :)
nice game
The graphics in this game may be simple, but they are effective in conveying the game's mechanics and enhancing the overall gameplay experience
