LD51 — Every 10 seconds

The Phaser Machine by LeReveur 2022-10-13T21:39:27Z

Enjoyable puzzle game! Pros: the central mechanic of tracing bounces is always satisfying. The physics always performed exactly as I expected. The difficulty curve of the levels felt fair and smooth. Cons: I would have really like to have some auditory feedback, for either the charging of the phasers, for bouncing, or for the final collision. I think that could have considerably improved the game's feel and make solving the puzzles more satisfying.

Attuned by Erkberg 2022-10-14T01:40:40Z

One of my favorites of the jam so far! I'd love to see a version of this with more songs to tune - I could see it working really well as a relaxing mobile game. The best feature IMO is switching the untuned count and color feedback on and off as the song played, allowing me to tailor difficulty exactly as I wanted.

Chain Destruction by Schuster 2022-10-05T19:00:58Z

Pros: physics felt good, music was solid, sound effects were pleasantly crunchy, straightforward application of the theme Cons: I would have liked to get bigger chain reactions - it seemed like the chain reaction didn't spread as the circles around enemies indicated? Also, some sort of feedback when you collide with enemies would help the game-feel.

Neon Speed Gauntlet by Empty Set 2022-10-05T01:51:19Z

Solid platformer - the level graphics are simple but servicable, but I love the little guy's design. The physics feel good, the dash made sense, but I couldn't the wall-jump down. Idk if that's me, my keyboard, or the game needing some leniency. But hey, I kept going back for one more try, so take pride in that!

Office Madness by Cookie_CHR 2022-10-05T01:27:41Z

Nice game! Really took the theme to heart, and felt properly frantic. The art style fits the game very well, and the music is a nice background to the setting. One tiny suggestion - could the cursor automatically move to the textbox when starting a password task? The extra click was annoying in a way that clashed with the intentional annoyingness of the game mechanics.

Baby Loader by c4ris 2022-10-05T19:17:10Z

Pros: Mechanic is fun, as as others above said there's good emergent difficulty - you make your own cluttered map to navigate. The sound effects worked well as a means to track the 10 seconds. Realizing I could throw the boxes was a great little "eureka" moment. Cons: Box-locking was a bit glitchy - not only did I get stuck inside a box several times, one time even R couldn't save me - there was a locked box on the space it would teleport me to. Also having only one map leaves the game lacking replayability - though given the time contraints, that's more of a way to improve in the future than a real critique.

Cheat or Lose by Vetche Studio 2022-10-05T02:16:01Z

I had a great time! I love all the different ways to cheat - a neat way to take elevate a very simple game. Well done

Would You Care For Seconds? by Rakr0s 2022-10-13T21:48:41Z

Perfectly frustrating! I couldn't beat a level for the life of me, but that's definitely the point of this genre. It took me a little while to get you implementation of the theme, but when it hit me i laughed out loud. One small bug report - I loaded the first level without looking at the controls, and didn't eat anything. The game counted that as a win, no idea why. Excellent game, good atmosphere, good graphics, good music, good simple humor!

Graveyard Scramble by pauly3d 2022-10-05T02:19:23Z

Thanks for the feedback everyone! I agree, 10 minutes is absolutely too long - if I had another day I would have halved the time for difficulty bumps and upgrades dropping, then 5 minutes might be doable. Live and learn :)

No Time For Love by davidtheginger 2022-10-05T02:01:33Z

Really unique idea! The feel is exactly right - overwhelming you with information that you can't possibly read, snap-deciding to react before they're even done talking. Great character art and music too! One small bug - once you pick up a react, you can't put it back down. Then again, maybe being able to accidentally commit to a reaction is a feature instead :)
