Just some hints on the Gameplay:
You start with a microbe level 1 and need to connect with other creatures/microbes that have the same level as you. If you have at least 5 connected microbes you can evolve to a higher level. Evolve using the button or press space.
Evolving can trigger mutations. If you have more microbes than 5 connected when evolving you have a higher chance to get mutations. Mutations can be either color change, speed change, max feed amount or microbe type change.
If you reach at least level 2 you can start feeding of smaller microbes to lower your starve rate. But be aware of microbes that are bigger than you. If they are only sightly bigger they will eat microbes away from your collected ones. If they are much higher they will instantly feed off you and you die.
If you reach level 20 you win the game.
Well that is just amazing!
Great graphics and gameplay. Hard to believe you only spent 48 hours or less!

I like the mood of this game, sometimes relaxing, sometimes terrifying. Gameplay is nice, reminiscent of flOw. Downside is that the load/generation time before the game gets going is pretty long :(

Thx for nice comments, yep those where some pretty nifty 48 hours :) (but actually i also had time to BBQ with friends on saturday!)
Yep, the loading time will be the main focus of my followup cleanings (pre LD48). In the end i did really struggle with testing as it took so long all time.
And i also want to try to fix some gameplay issues and add some ideas that i didnt have time for.

The loading time is a bit long, still I enjoyed playing it! Nice game with great music.
Feels really smooth, graphically excellent, and a lot of fun to play. Quite original and very polished.
Music perfectly fits the game and the lighting helps make the mood nearly perfect.
An improvement would be to add sound effects like bubbles.
I don't know why, this crashed on my firefox.
Downloaded that and it says: "not a valid win32 application"
Maybe something wrong with xp/32 bit?

Overall pretty good, I found myself dying randomly though - I guess I was probably in range of a larger microbe but it's not obvious what the range is so that's hard to avoid.
Also as Thurig said, load times are ridiculous!

It's fun, but the one big killer is the loading time -- and it seems to hang sometimes when loading on Windows. At first I thought the loading screen was the game itself! Would love to see a more polished version sometime. The help is great, but one thing missing from the help text is "click on things to move / eat".

Nice mood and a nice game overall, though there seems to be a problem when dying and starting a new game - it just gets stuck on loading screen for ever. Other than that, nice & chill!
Its quite fun, but the webplayer wouldnt work, and the standalone kept crashing so I wont vote for now

Also, sometimes it can be a bit unclear which "enemies" are deadly and which you can "recruit"
Lovely presentation!
There are some irritating bugs though:
-The webbuild is way too large. The browser locks up on loading, and it crashed the first two times.
- When the camera clips through a mountain and you click, you end up going backwards
And it is kinda difficult figuring out what to do.
Still, love the optics!

The game kept crashing when I pressed play, so I cant vote. Also, for the webplayer, remove the HTTPS from the link, most browsers disable embedded content in secure connections, that's why the webplayer won't work for many people.

Oh i see - well its hosted on my Dropbox, that's why it's https. Chrome has a shield showing up in the bar to disable it temporarily so you can load it anyway. But thanks for the hint.
As for the crash it might be related to x86? I'll upload some more builds tonight so ppl can have a look at it.
Firefox did NOT like this Unity game in the browser... long pause, frozen, Task Manager unfroze and the game went by so fast I had no idea what just happened.
The Windows version also froze.
Okay, the after Ludum Dare one is somewhat playable but very laggy in Firefox.
Is there an updated Standalone version available?

I'll upload a new Windows build for x64 and x86 tonight as well as an Android version probably :)
Lighting & Music = great atmosphere. I generally love games with exploration or a sense of wonder, so swimming off and finding larger creatures was nice. Good work on this
