Really liked the game! Hope you make lots more in the future!

nymroot 2024-04-18 00:03

Really liked the idea, but I might not be smart enough to figure out how to play it properly. ^^;;

yule4ka 2024-04-18 14:30

cool puzzle

joshanthony1990 2024-04-18 15:06

@nymroot I updated the page with a more in-depth gameplay explanation, if you want to give it another shot. Thanks for trying it!

@josion @yule4ka Thank you for playing!

very cool! plays like a classic board game and I enjoyed it

I needed some time, to get what I'm doing, because I was really confused of the the dice Image in the left corner, first I thought it will do all the Things on the dice, till I get it. Nice little puzzle!

joshanthony1990 2024-04-18 16:51

@player04 @martenj Thank you for playing, and for the feedback!

nymroot 2024-04-19 16:10

Played again. Was able to get well over 500 in a few minutes of playing and soooo many dice. Thanks for the further explanation. Seems very endless once you figure it out. Makes me wonder how high the score could get. Thank you for nice fun game ^^

joshanthony1990 2024-04-19 16:39

@nymroot Thanks for giving it another go! Yes, the score can get pretty high. :)

I'll be honest - I had a really hard time figuring out how to play, even after reading the instructions. I found it difficult to understand how things were connected. Would have been nice to maybe highlight the things that would be affected when you pointed at something. That said, it was a fun game and I really loved the way the worms danced and the sound effects

I did like the mechanic with the dice and the movement but it seems easy to go on forever by just spawning as many as you can and moving stuff up. I never used the left or right or down actions. I am also not sure why 2 actions have to be played at once they don't seem to have any interaction one at a time would yield the same results. performance tanks a bit at high combos too. I feel like some more limitations would be good to make the moves matter more.

overall some really good basics for a puzzle game. and I love the visuals and the music / sound effect

Fascinating game! The random set up meant I had no rocks in my first run, but did in my 2nd. It did feel a little bad when, even after 2 rolls, all my worms were on a color I had no dice of. Still, fun experience, got 8 worms my 2nd try, and thanks for sharing!

nathan123 2024-04-22 11:11

I love the music and the animations ! Very nice game overall

iolis-lui 2024-04-22 11:16

Some math and cute worms! And now it's spring and the fishing season is coming soon... I really like the way you framed the loss (but it's a little broken) and a commentary)) Thank you for the game)

I will show it to my friends - I think, there is something to discuss ;3

Intriguing puzzle concept that feels like a classic board game with a modern twist. The dice mechanic is a fun addition, though initially confusing. Some players may need additional clarity on gameplay, but the visuals and sound add a delightful layer to the experience.

joshanthony1990 2024-04-24 00:02

@battlecat I agree, previewing moves would have helped a lot, that's definitely something I'd look to add if this game gets expanded upon. Thanks for playing!

@spexxilove I'm curious, how many worms did you rack up? Also, did you play multiple rounds, or just one (it's randomized for each run)? I definitely agree that more challenging things are needed. Had ideas, ran out of time to implement them. :( Thanks for playing!

@mcgiants Agreed, it sucks if you just don't get good dice, so would look to improve that experience for sure. Thanks for playing!

@nathan123 Thank you for the compliments. :) And thanks for playing!

@iolis-lui I'm curious, what was broken? The design itself, or the program? Thanks for playing!

@hadik Agreed, the concept needs to be more intuitively communicated. Thanks for playing!

Love all the compliments on the visuals, music, and sounds, the people who did them were excellent. :)

A nice puzzle with a great vibe. I love the concept though I felt it was shoehorned into the theme (been there, no worries.) :cat: I had trouble determining which tiles matched the dice colors. Two factors: 1st - I think you could increase the size of all the graphical elements and lower the detail of the dirt texture around the play area, so it doesn't conflict and obscure the tile borders. 2nd - Going full-screen or changing the window size was disabled for some reason.

artonix 2024-04-24 20:43

it wouldn't be so difficult to understand, if I had noticed the small icons in rolls, that I read about in instructions. This game needs fullscreen or alternatives of that, the origin window is too small. The idea, gameplay and also music are good though.

tod-semple 2024-05-02 15:49

Nice dice game. It was really small on my screen and hard to read the dice and I couldn't find a was to size the window. It took a bit to figure out where I needed to move the dice. Maybe the dice area could have had a dashed outline or some effect to show that it was a drop target.

joshanthony1990 2024-05-03 23:13

@khaotom Thanks for playing! There actually is a thing called worm charming, which is what this game was based on, but I ran out of time to work more theme elements into the presentation. :(

@artonix Thanks for playing! Agreed, it should've been fullscreen. I just couldn't resolve the UI layout bugs in fullscreen in time. :(

@tod-semple Thanks for playing! Good thought with the drop shadow, agree that better communication on that interaction was needed.
