Nice sprites and fun pitch ; really loved the "hit" sound effect! Couldn't manage to win, though :-/
There was absolutely nothing Zen about that experience, but fun idea. 😆 A bit too hard tho, didn't get past 20-25 flowers. Liked the snare and groove.
@lars-erik: "Zen" :P Thanks for playing
@inka-mcafee: Thanks, that's my first pixel art. I didn't have time to finish the art, so I focused on getting them to move :)
@ace17: There are multiple sounds playing at the same time when you hit someone, the dying sound effect was done by layering multiple recording of me and Chloé doing weird gurgling sounds and some white noise with an amplified attack. For the hit sound, I used a gun effect on the synthesizer coming with studio one and did multiple note with it, then I layered some of these + some white noise and a recorded clic of the tongue to add more attack.
i found it fun, but also kinda difficult.
@doritolord Yes, I tried to make it quite the challenge to get over 100 while making it to 70 / 80 should be a bit tricky. If you feel stuck, making some cash reserve before going over 70 flowers is a good strategy to reach 100 more easily.
Pretty fun, but it got too intense too fast for me :D
Hahahaaaaaaa. "Zen" isn't the adjective I'd go with, but sure, hahaa! This has the be the most intense gardening game I've played in a long while. Funny stuff, and the music was rockin'. Great work.
@alex457 Thanks for the feedback!
How many flowers were you able to get before it felt too intense (roughly)? Which kind of pacing would you have preferred for this kind of game ? Would you have liked a different way to kill the enemies ? Too much clicking or does it feel fun to click so much ?
Very intense! Fast paced gardening is new to me ahah Nice visuals, music and concept!
I would just wait a little time into the game before the zombies increased. The difficulty curve could've been more smooth.
I was able to win! Tried for a long time before I realized that right click killed the enemies. Went into the top right corner so most enemies popped up on the left or below. Cool game :)
What an intense experience! I really like the music, it help establish the rugged rock-and-roll atmosphere of this Mad Max-style gardening! Once I got close to 100 flowers I had a hard time clicking fast enough, though!
Overall this was pretty good. It was a little hard to play with a trackpad, but that's more a limitation of my computer than your game. I liked the enemy animations, and I laughed when I realized you outsmarted me- I was trying to cheat by killing a bunch of enemies to get a lot of money so I could do my whole garden at once, but you made a good call by limiting how much money you could have at once time. That created an interesting balance between planting the garden and killing the enemies. Nice work!
Nice, and really cool music. It would be nice if things ramped up a bit more slowly so you get used to the controls before thousands of hoodlums start storming the garden.
Pretty good concept for a game about managing crowds, while trying to build something. Although it gets pretty unforgiving, when you have over 70 flowers.
surprisingly fun; got to 79 flowers and suddenly I was swamped with hooligans and dropped down to 50-odd within a few seconds. Would be interesting if you could spend the money on new weapons / turrets instead of just flowers? You could risk losing your garden in the attempt of getting a better weapon.
@kevinworkman I tried cheating too in my play run so I fixed it before release ;)
@MartianSteve You are right, I think there are too many of them when you start. The number of ennemies is related to the size of your garden, I might need to reduce the size of the garden a bit when you start the game.
I added a garden at the start of the game to make the player understand that they need to extend it and to add the "Keep it alive" feeling to the garden maintenance. In the first gameplay draft, There was no garden when you started and people were getting confused about the game objective.
@amkingtrp Yes it would be great, I had a plan for some turrets / fences but I had to cut that out of the game to release in time ;)
Loved the music and sound effects! The game really starts off quick and does not let up xD It gets to a point where it really isn't "winnable" as the guys spawn much faster than you can kill them. Still nice game!
Hey, fun game! I like the idea, good job
