Yeah, I agree. I wasn't intending it as an idle game, but thats just kind of where it ended. I wanted to add more dynamic-ness with people joining and leaving the tribe, and a goal based system (e.g. get to tech X within a set amount of time), but ran out of time.

Love the ending! And those are great sprites, next time you'll be set to make something visually stunning for sure!
Nice graphics and animations! My main criticism would be that the color on the statues is a bit too small, and it makes it look like a different color from the crystals. After the first few misses I figured it out though :-)
Great concept, the lack of feedback on moving forward is a little jarring (it took me like 4 minutes to figure out I was actually moving). It does a really great job of capturing the feel of those old handhelds though.
Yeah, I was intentionally aiming for something that would lean towards making you lose. Given enough time I think making it a co-op game would be fun, and for those to be entertaining you really have to have a good chance of losing. So all the largest rolls are negatives; I want it to be a struggle. Of course currently you can win really easily by never allocating your interns and just hitting next turn a bunch. I thought about adding a penalty for idle interns to stop this, but didn't really have time.

Love the mechanics, cool idea, felt a bit lost about what was happening and where i should be looking at first, but got into it after a few turns!
Actually hilarious ending there, did a good job of keeping me engaged with a very simple mechanic.
