It's asking me to rotate to landscape mode. But I'm on a PC.

nedortgames 2012-08-27 02:09

Good, but not really origanal but I suppose all entries in this theme will be rather the same.
I would have liked if the sprite could be turned around

vicethal 2012-08-27 02:18

I was like "oh, another eat the bigger fish game". But no! I am the biggest fish! But wait! Mines?! gah! Dynamite?!?!

I was thoroughly amused. Thanks for supporting linux :)

perry 2012-08-27 02:28

rhill, it autoscales so it can support phones. If you're on PC, just change the size of your browser window so it's landscape. Sorry about that.

jijaweb 2012-08-27 06:55

Cool game. It was fun to play. Those damn dynamites!!!

jokerden 2012-08-27 12:49

Good pixel work. But I don't get where is health and what kind of food i can eat (i dead from big fish lol).

dakowta 2012-08-27 12:51

I wish I had an android phone. Was still as fun to play on the PC.

theomnis 2012-08-27 14:45

I LOLed when they started dropping dynamite on me.

pjchardt 2012-08-27 14:47

When using the mechanic where the avatar moves to the mouse position, maybe not require the player to hold the mouse button? I felt it just added complexity. Perhaps this is because on mobile devices it is touch input? Anyway, nice job!

dwallin 2012-08-27 15:28

I had trouble with mouse input, it seemed to register wrong (if I clicked anywhere not on the far left or right the shark would keep moving to the bottom right until it went offscreen. Other than the technical problems I would say you need more of an indicator of whether a fish is consumable or not (a random fish 1/10th your size being able to shrink you isn't what someone would normally assume when you are controlling a shark)

yetanother 2012-08-27 16:46

Nice graphics.

brassawiking 2012-08-27 17:05

Good solid work. Kudos for thinking about different devices!

kassoon 2012-08-28 03:28

Dynamite: A shark's only natural predator.

Oreganik 2012-08-29 03:56

I love the look and the game mechanics. Job well done for 48 hours. That said, some sort of goal -- beyond time alive -- would have been sweet. Or even variations in the sea floor...

perry 2012-08-29 12:32

@Oreganik

I completely agree, I didn't have the full 48 hours, I had ~20 hours of work over the weekend and would have loved to actually put some elbow grease on it, sadly I spent the majority of my time trying to get the game to scale up/down on web. It doesn't even do that properly, as @DWallin found.

gnx 2012-08-29 13:44

Pleasent looking art. Shark movement could use some easing and sense of physics.
Also there isn't a whole lot to do :)

csanyk 2012-09-01 16:29

It's not really evolution, though, is it?

adventureislands 2012-09-02 11:05

Eating some fishies when suddenly. Dynamite.

It was funny, but the game itself is very basic and I don't see what it has to do with the theme.

rhaasken 2012-09-05 00:08

Nice graphics. Sound would have helped though.

The controls were imprecise. If that was fixed, I think it would be a lot more fun. The dynamite was a nice touch. Pretty hard to avoid though.

harusame 2012-09-05 00:10

It's a pity there are no audio. The game it's quite cool and funy ^^ Not a big relationship with the theme.

Dynamite o_O XD

Good job.

tupperwarespoon 2012-09-16 05:56

I think it would have been better to have you just be another fish. Because although I was meant to eat things that were smaller than me, but leave bigger things alone, I was always bigger than anything on the screen, but some things still hurt me. Music was pretty good, but it didn't loop, so once it had played I was then just playing in silence.

hamster_mk_4 2012-09-17 03:27

The size changing game dynamic was brilliant, especially when there were challenges that made being a smaller size preferable.
