Well now I rather enjoyed that! Weird plot, funky graphics, jet packs, bones and gore, terrain destruction... sorry I didn't get to give you a rating, but CONGRATS!
Holy crap, that's hard... or I suck. =) Wish that I didn't have to sit through the story intro when I restart.
Rhythm macing game? Genius! I only wish it had ramped up faster so I realized that was the genre I was playing. At first I was like "why can't I move, and what is that godawful clicking sound?" Quite a bit of fun in the end.
Thanks to all of you for playing and giving me feedback!
For my Jam version, I made the intro how I wished it had been, tweaked a level, and added a new level. I wish I had been able to do a lot more levels, too. =(
Thanks for all of the feedback! Keep it coming. Tons for me to learn.
Draknek, I really like that idea of the guy and cat moving at different speeds. I also had an idea where the guy would hit beer or the kitten would hit catnip and then they would go in different directions rather than the same direction.
Thanks so much to everybody who took the time to rate my first Ludum Dare game! I'm so happy with pretty much 3's across the board. Very encouraging!
I really like this, nice work! I played all the way through. I was really pleased by what happened with the time warp. If I was going to nitpick I'd say your final level was a step backwards because it didn't use time warp or introduce a new mechanic or puzzle.
I like the level generation and being able to roam around. I seemed to have been forcefully evicted from the game with rank Thief on several occasions. I wanted to keep playing.
Ok, I think I was probably dying. I've got the controls figured out now! Pretty fun =) I think there was one situation where I was surrounded by 4 monsters and kept hitting space and my HP actually was going up. I thought that was odd!
More than anything, I kept wanting to find awesome new weapons/armor I hadn't seen before.
I like that bad things happen to them all no matter what... hah. Sometimes I didn't seem to have the item I needed to give away in my inventory.
Wish there was more to play! That last jumping challenge had me swearing like a sailor, in a good way. I too enjoy the contrasting music.
I was stuck on the loading screen until I RTFM and saw that I needed Chrome for WebGL. heh. I like the gravity wells and planetary gravity. It felt a bit at first like there were too many enemies and not enough boxes. My gun just didn't feel like it was doing anything to the enemies. I did enjoy cruising around in gravity wells in space!
I really like the music! Difficulty could have ramped up quicker in the beginning.
My mouse was just a weeee bit too sensitive when zoomed in. Sniping is hard! Quite humorous!
I really like the concept. It'd be way easier to play if you could touch the traps rather than having to learn the keyboard mapping. Holds up pretty well with just one map and a few trap types. I'd of course be excited to see random layouts and new traps. Hrmm... trap design mode?
I love this type of puzzler. (Thanks deepnight for reminding me RE: Sokoban) The music was very enjoyable. The extremely weird, highly irreverent, and possibly offensive story actually made me want to keep playing the puzzles to see what would happen in the story next. Well done, overall. I did an old school puzzler, too... but with items to pickup in a particular order rather than push into place. Now I'm wondering if it would have been better Sokoban style! Eh, whatever. :p Nice job.
Very moody and funny... the death sound scared the crap out of me every time. I like your graphics, though they are tiny, and I agree with some of the other feedback about contrast and difficulty in realizing spikes are spikes. Can you get past the no trespassing guy? Perhaps you could add depth to the game by providing different abilities/control for the different evolutions?
Also, cool to see another game written in JavaScript!
Pretty awesome dogfighting experience. Controls are difficult but not impossible. I managed two kills thanks to the high rate of fire. Would love a little radar and to hear enemy sound. Being able to see the bullets farther away would be good, too.
Holy crap, you made like a real game with a great progression of levels and depth of gameplay. The whole unicorn thing is hilarious.
Fun and funny, but perhaps a little too easy.
I always forget how fun typing games are. I'm impressed that you made something fun and with ramping difficulty for the compo. Did get boring after a few levels... needs some additional gameplay variation I think. Doesn't seem like you can get shot? I was expecting to get shot when I lost.
Holy crap this is awesome. Love the audio. Cute graphics. Love the gameplay. Not sure yet if I can actually maintain the diversity I need to survive many rounds... could be my poor planning, or you could need to tweak that. Also there seems to be an occasional bug where you don't see both monsters highlighted when selected. I appreciate very much that you didn't force there to be male monsters and female monsters... no reason to enforce gender stereotypes, and you did not. Nice work!!!
Very cool use of Conway's Game of Life! Fun!
Very cool, would love to see you spend some time balancing the game more. Perhaps introduce new abilities/enemies more slowly along with puzzles that test the new abilities you evolve.
I really love your pixel art style. Awesome. I'd like to see you give the player's creature new abilities as it evolves.
Ok, that was kind of awesome. I think you did great in 48 hours. With a little more time you could fix some of the annoyances in the levels and flesh out the differences/benefits of playing as the different evolutions.
Hey! You used Impact, too! :D Your music is nice. I tried to ride a velociraptor... I couldn't. heh. Impressed to see multiple weapons and enemy AI. Very Contra. Very challenging gameplay! The jumping is pretty unforgiving. I kept replaying to get farther!
Nice work!! You got much farther on graphics than I did, they are great. You've also introduced this frantic arcade element instead of going with a pure Pipe Dream clone like I did. How do you get a train to run on the tracks?!
Very cool. It is like a multi-sourced Pipe Dream in a way. I tried out every component I could find. No modifier for the yellow source? Seems like you get extra points for adding extra pipe (makes sense).
I would have liked more feedback from clicking the Finalize button. It wasn't obvious to me at first that anything happened. Took me a few tries to notice the score updating.
It would also be great to see the liquids flowing.
I enjoyed being able to just play with the different components until I ran out of cash. Much more casual than Pipe Dream where you are on a timer. That was nice to learn the new aspects of your game. For replay though, probably too casual and needs more challenge. As you said: more of an activity at the moment.
Wow, that was kind of hard! heh. The buggers don't want to leave. I like the subtle checker snow pattern.
Wow, that sky texture is so amazing. The graphics are beautiful.
That's really fun. The controls weren't obvious. Add some instructions to your entry post here! Once I got the hang of it, I really enjoyed the concept.
Thanks NuSan! My game doesn't have music though, so I wonder what you were hearing? DUN DUN DUNNNNNNN! heh
Niiiice. You went with paint-the-tracks instead of Pipe Dream style. I really like it. And you've got consistent sprites, audio, and LEVELS! Excellent! I'd actually play the crap out of this game. You should keep it going.
Missing goats though? heh
I would really like to see where this reverse-tower-defense idea could go. I'm very intrigued.
Gorgeous looking game with great sound! It would have felt more action-packed to me if it scrolled faster. I also felt like there needed to be more danger/threats to me as the player, and would like to experiment with being able to fly around. The bombing got a little repetitive.
