LD24 — Evolution

Tower of Babble by shockedfrog 2012-08-28T02:13:00

The graphics and music aren't too bad - but the relation to the theme is a bit of a str3tch - get it? ;)

Evo Smash by Elemental Zeal Games Studios 2012-08-28T01:39:00

Took me ages to figure out that you can scroll the screen left and right.

Ameeba's by Vurb 2012-08-28T04:16:00

Looked like an interesting concept. Unfortunately, the collision detection bugs with the mushrooms make the game impossible to progress past the first room. The mouse control isn't very good in my opinion either.

Goo by Cipher 2012-08-28T02:09:00

When I saw the screenshot, I didn't think this would be very good. But it's actually a really fun game.

Out of the Sea by Uberi 2012-08-28T04:04:00

I'm getting the same problem that other people are getting. I'm on Windows Seven x64.

Evolution by Mathias Olsson 2012-08-28T17:11:00

Couldn't move at all on Windows Seven 64-bit.

rEVOLution by TwilightFlandre 2012-08-28T02:52:00

Roguelike - love it. Although I can't see much relation to the theme.

Mutate by JPatrick 2012-08-28T03:47:00

I liked this game because it's like one of the old platformers that you would get on a website in Flash, but it has the nice evolution twist which rewards the player as they continue to play.

kinetic dream by mdkess 2012-08-28T01:54:00

Really fun to play. I actually forgot I was playing a Ludum Dare game while playing this.

Dr. Helix by SecondDimension 2012-08-28T17:43:00

Game was kind of fun. I like the concept, but it seemed a bit too repetitive (or not enough going on, music-wise, etc) to me. Interpretation of the theme is good.

EVOLVES! by onehappygiant 2012-08-28T02:36:00

As some of the other comments have said, it needs a how-to or manual or something. Gameplay isn't too bad, I ended up playing a few times.

UN-Natural Selection by Haddy22 2012-08-28T06:01:00

Interesting game. A bit repetitive, but it's not too bad. Fun, nonetheless.

The Lost Laboratory by Kayelgee 2012-08-28T17:20:00

Interesting concept. It got a bit repetitive after a few minutes, but I'd like to see it taken further - i.e. more stuff beyond the radiation chamber. Audio is a bit broken though (Windows Seven 64-bit); it crackles a lot of the time.

Robo[R]Evolution by NateNaterson 2012-08-28T17:32:00

Fun game to play, and it's actually not too repetitive (which I first thought it might be). Audio isn't intrusive and makes the game feel relaxing, and I do like the evolution side of it (evolving the player) which makes it more than just another tower defense game.

Inu No Ongaeshi by Shmarah 2012-08-28T02:29:00

Very interesting concept. Although, the story was quite long at points and hard to keep following.

FruitMon by 2Creative 2012-08-28T04:45:00

As Desi said, the game is a bit too repetitive. The change in difficulty is noticeable though, which is sort of a good thing. And I absolutely love the art! (and the music)

The Distressing Evolution Adventure of Dr. Cain by HappyFunRock 2012-08-28T17:58:00

I actually liked this more and more as I played, because of the increasingly obvious link to evolution. Not that much to do, but I like the concept a lot. Couldn't figure out what to do after Level 3. And the audio track was quite amusing.

Seed 1,801,360 by cambrian_era 2012-08-28T02:44:00

Interesting game - I like the openness of the world. Audio could use a bit more work, but the graphics are very nice.

Self.Recompile() by Kharza 2012-08-28T02:58:00

Tried the game and it seems to be an interesting concept - however, I couldn't figure out what to do. Could have used some instructions or a readme or something.

Evolution VS 1000 kittens by Citiral 2012-08-28T19:53:00

Really enjoyed playing this one. It reminded me a bit of Infinity Blade, with the generations and stuff. Very good game overall.

Super Genome: Hyper Evolution Turbo Edition by Raptor85 2012-08-28T03:23:00

Fun game, definitely related to the theme. I like the way the player changes based on what they kill. The art style is really interesting (I like it). Audio could do with being a bit more lively, but it's good enough that it makes me want to keep playing.

Might as well point out now that it's hard to play with a trackpad.

Evolvsion by sP0CkEr2 2012-08-28T04:28:00

I thought this game was really fun, and it reminded me a bit of Mario. The only thing I'm going to be picky about is that it would have been even more fun with in-level music, and not just title-screen music.

Lucid by Redream 2012-08-28T05:00:00

This is actually one of my favorite games. The art was great; the simplicity was great; the music was really minimalist and worked well with the theme of it. And I loved your interpretation of the theme.

Species by mappum 2012-08-28T05:10:00

Great game, but it was scary D:

TreeVolve by GetFun 2012-08-28T03:11:00

I like the game, the music and the graphics, and the relation to the theme is strong. I'm a bit disappointed, though, that once you lose your workers, you can't get them back (at least, I couldn't find any way to). The game also gets rather repetitive.

Advolvolution by Charlie Hadden 2012-08-28T01:40:00

Can't run in Firefox 14.0.1. Just displays a black screen and doesn't change.

Advolvolution by Charlie Hadden 2012-08-28T02:00:00

This is a nice little game. Took me a few seconds to figure out what was going on at first, but it's an interesting concept.
