Saw one of your blog post and it looked interesting. I must say I was not disappointed. The concept, the graphics, the theme all really good. The AI seems to have a bit of an edge (hitting way more than I am) but elimination of opponents seems to be way to go.
Very nice AI! They destroyed me. Even so, I had a lot of fun playing and enjoyed the game.

This game is &^$@ing amazing. The audio and art are on point, game-play is wonderfully fun. Stupendous work even if it weren't made in a weekend.

Nicely made! The controls are intuitive, the gameplay is engaging, the art is amazing, there is definately depth and strategy to it. The animations are strong and the ui and feedback is clear and looks good. All of the elements work together really well too, I'm not noticing anything that distracts or takes away from the game.

@listonos, @supertibbles, @tompk7 thank you guys!
@solluxx, the whole game has been made during this 3-days jam including code, music (2 songs) and art by the team of three people. The only exception are sound effects, I was using freesound.org and Audacity. Thank you for the kind words.

Everything looks and feels awesome! Also checked out your Itch.io page before, but I'm leaving a comment here since this game really deserves it! Congrats once more!

I liked the graphics and the concept, although the ability that lets you kick the ball with 2 times the strength is pretty broken once i got it i easily scored 3 goals back to back without a hitch, maybe look into balancing the game a bit more, or the position of the characters after a goal is made, i mean, the one that scores the goal shouldn't get to kick off the ball again, and he he does, the enemy should at least have a unit that's in the path of the ball to stop the other player from scoring clean goals like that :P
My team was completely destroyed by the opponent, but I had a lot of fun while this is happening.
The graphics and the gameplay are awesome and the game seems to be very polished. One of the best I played in this event.
Please, take a look at my game too: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/confessional
The game is very fun to play, the art style is really well done. The only thing I think it needs is a K.O. win condition instead of having to score three goals total. Overall the game play is solid and looks great.
Wow, I had a great time playing this! I would buy this for sure. The music was repetitive, but honestly, I didn't mind, it really enhanced the "strategy" atmosphere. I genuinely chuckled seeing a few of the name gags. Overall, great job! I loved it!
This is amazing! I love the idea and execution as well... This one is one of my favourite games here.
Playing with a friend was really fun! Nice art and gameplay.
Absolutely great game. I take it HoMM III was an inspiration? Unit design and random map obstacles definitely remind me of something. Though honestly I doubt there is a single russian for whom it wasn't:) Anyway, just slap the KO condition or maybe a way to respawn players and you sure get my money on Steam.
@Synedraacus I love HoMM III! But you know, there are other turn based games they could be inspired by :D Really nice game. I can't believe you made it so quickly, especially with AI O_O Congratz!

Turn based soccer on a hex grid turned out to be quite interesting, who'd have guessed? Fantastic job on the design department, from the in game visuals to menus, it all looks quite cohesive. If I have to nitpick anything, it would likely be the music buts probably because I played it for too long >.>

I guess it's mix of more than two genres :)
Nice game and stylish art! Also AI is pretty good.
Really impressive for a 3 day event, I think the concept and presentation were both excellent.

Very cool game with a lot of character! The art style and feel of the game is amazing! Also, I love that you can kick the ball into the audience. Only criticism I have it that it is a little bit hard to tell which players yours are. Some form of team uniforms or markers that distinguish between the teams would be nice. Other than that, great work!
This game is addicting! Usually I play a game for a minute or so, but this one i could not step away. This took the theme and made something good. The graphics, music, and mechanics all tied together so well and obviously immersed me into the game. I loved that each player had health too! Great game!
my only criticism would be that once you've eliminated the entire enemy team you still have to make the goals which seems sort of pointless because there's no resistance. I think there should be two victory types, 3 points or elimination of the other team. But honestly, this is a way better game than I'd expect to come from a game jam, I'd say it's my favorite of the bunch

Great Job!! I had a lot of fun
This is so much fun. I kept setting the players and the ball on fire on purpose just cuz I could. Great job!
Amazing game and idea!

This game is very polished for a jam game. My only gripe was that I was not able to cancel an action once I started it although its probably in there and I just didn't figure it out. But I still had a lot of fun though.
This game is real classy. I suck at it.

This was a great game. I really liked the art and idea. The music became a little monotonous since strategy games tend to last so long, but not terribly so. Is it a bug that you can just kill everyone and score as many times as you want? 🤔

Wow, very slick package here. Nice concept of turn-based soccer on a hex grid with some inaccuracy in kicks, leading to a nice positional strategy game with a reasonable planning horizon but not so predictable you have to compute far ahead. Great concept for the theme!
The layer of nice art and sound with the mystical/demonic characters and special abilities is an impressive layer of additional scope over the top, wow! And all of it worked and was really clear - I jumped right in, never looked at the help, and won my first match 3-1.
I think I would have lost if the AI was a little more careful about not hitting its own teammates. It seemed to play for damage, and I played purely for scoring... maybe a mistake on my part, as once they were two men up it was tough for me. But once the field evened again I won handily, but being REALLY careful with my one fast guy left. Poor Gandalf went down immediately for my side, woops!
Everything here was on point. The only critique I can offer is that the pace is a bit slow. I like action games, and I do play a lot of turn-based roguelikes as well, but those are single-character tappa-tappa speedy turn-based games. This level of 5-man squad turn games feels a little onerous to me, but I can't tell if that's just inherent to the genre and merely a matter of taste. If it played twice as fast I definitely would have gone back for multiple matches.
Overall a very impressive entry across the board. Very nice work!

Yup, this is amazing. well polished, welll thought out, good idea, looking good, its all there! I am very impressed. The Ai was great too, thats usually the most lacking part, but they played well. I'll say while turnbased sport game is probably one of the most common use of the theme (it does fit the theme quite well) your game shows that perhaaps it doesn't (and i mean that as a compliment!) units even have abilities, good going!
Glorious execution!

Thank you everyone for the kind words! It's really nice to hear that you've liked the game.
Unfortunately, we couldn't make some of the features in time, including KO win condition, better messaging of some features and faster game pacing; we all believe that it would not be fair to put them in now.
Some of the non-obvious features we heard about include: - changing AI/Human controls by clicking on upper portraits in select mode - canceling the ball kick (click on the hero).
If you notice something else that was not obvious or missing, please let us know. We also appreciate your thoughts on the balance and game pacing!
That graphics is insane, awesome job! My gf and I played this and had a great time. We spent more time hitting each other than scoring haha. She just brutally murdered my guys. 10/10 would play again.
Wow, very interesting entry! Hell turn-based combat football inspires a lot! Game mechanics pretty hard to figure out and takes 5-7 restars for me. Lovely made game mechanics with different characters with unique abilities and ROLES (it feels). Sometimes looks that CPU cheats...
Probably the best game of this Ludum Dare I played so far, great job! I managed to win 3-0 without losing any character! It would have been nice to have options to change the music volume though.

Would have preferred for units to move about thirty times faster, but very good game overall.
I don't like soccer games... This isn't one :) Great atmosphere. I would recommend taking it further
Really loved this, fantastic work all around! Played multiple times versus the AI and versus my team members and enjoyed every minute of it. The only critique I can come up with is about balance - I think the tentacle arm guy who can pitch the ball any direction is OP.

Whoa, really cool! As a fan of Bloodbowl I really appreciate this :) Very well made too, impressive for a Ludum Dare game.
Not sure if I missed something, but it would be nice if you could tackle or attack opponents. Now many characters are often too far from the ball and have little to do.

This is incredible! Graphics, gameplay, music, design and don't even get me started with the AI, like how do you even put it together in so little time?
The only thing that slightly bothered me is how slow characters walk. But still this is the best game I've played so far.
I had a blast playing this one! I'd be really surprised if it didn't score highly. Excellent work guys!
Wow, this was awesome. Really good work!
wish i knew how you created suck smart ai in so short time - great work - thanks for making this game

Wow, this was really sophisticated! I won 3-0 on the second game, after losing 0-3 on the first game. I liked the different characters and their abilities, and I loved the music. Nice job!

This is honestly the most complete game I've seen in a Ludum Dare, and reminds me a lot of Blood Bowl. Music wasn't too repetitive, pixel style was spot on and the gameplay was excellent: both easy to learn and with enough depth to keep things interesting. 5/5 will play again soon :)

Welp, apparently, the goal of the game (pun intended) is to score 3 goals, and not to kill entire opponent team ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (I don't read descriptions, sorry). I think that some tutorial would help a lot to figure out what's happening and what should you do.
what a great game :D I killed all enemies first before I started scoring goals lol

It was a hard time before I understood how to look at abilites tooltips. (It will be nice to have a much smaller timer before poping - up them). The no difference between some characters on a timeline, so it mess planning a bit, but it's OK for LD game. But I like the art and the game overall (and put you high scores).
This is really fun! I'm impressed with how finished your game is in so little time, ad your team ain't even that huge - very good job, I really enjoyed that :-D
Perfect art and very well done. Very fun game. Congratulations!!
I left my rating of your game, if you can leave your feedback in our game, Witch's Escape.
I hope you continue with the project.

This reminds me of Football Tactics on Steam, except your team is getting massacred by demons and everything is on fire. I love the graphics, I love the AI, the gameplay is well-polished and has plenty of features. I dunno if it's just me, but there's no music or sound effects? I think it must be a glitch, as you mentioned music a couple of times. I'll refrain from leaving an Audio rating, just to be on the safe side.
I loved playing this, though. It's a highly impressive game for just 72 hours of work. Excellent job!

Nice graphics, good game! I included it in my Ludum Dare 41 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8gETlUarz7Y
