I enjoyed it a lot. Tbh, I think you got all the audio necessary. It was like playing an easy to access Hacknet or Uplink in mood. Enjoyed the vibe. GJ

@viralsun Hey, glad you enjoyed the game! :)

t-bo 2019-04-30 19:59

I love the mood, the story and the design of the puzzle game levels ! Thank you for this game !

shadowhaxz0r 2019-04-30 20:00

Nice game ! Getting some Uplink vibes! Nice writing and like the GUI, puzzles get quite interesting!

corgiram 2019-04-30 20:03

I really liked this game! The graphics and simulated desktop are really cool. Probably one of my favorites that I've played so far.

yvanor 2019-04-30 20:05

It was really pleasing to play, and the story was interesting !

Well done !

criobite 2019-04-30 20:11

@t-bo Thank you for checking it out! Glad you enjoyed it.

@shadowhaxz0r Thanks! It was definitely tricky to get all of that done in time.

@corgiram Hey, glad to hear that; thanks!

@yvanor Thank you! I was worried that the story was potentially too confusing, glad it came across well.

saering 2019-04-30 20:30

I found the puzzles pretty easy, to be honest haha but I'm used to this kind of games, I like them a lot and you did a great one! I also love the desktop, the chat system, the entry points thing, it is not something extraordinary, but it actually adds something very interesting to the game, and without that it would not have been the same. Plus, it is overall polished and has a great feeling! That's a great entry!

kostasvs 2019-04-30 23:16

Just finished the game, the puzzles were just as hard as they needed to be in my opinion, I had a hard time with the last ones! The game is very well made, the whole UI is very good-looking and user friendly. I really don't think the abscence of music deducted from the game, it's a normal thing for a computer interface.

criobite 2019-05-02 13:31

@saering Thank you very much! I tried to make sure the puzzles weren't too terribly difficult so that people who just want to experience the story could do so even if they're not very good at puzzle solving.

@kostasvs Glad you like it! I've had the idea of doing a game based in a fake OS for a while now, and I thought this would be a good chance to experiment with making something like that.

acearcher 2019-05-18 19:19

I'm kind of blown away, this is incredible! The puzzles were really fun, just challenging enough to keep me interested. You did an excellent job with the fake OS, very believable! I also really liked that none of the different placeable things had descriptions, so you had to figure them out yourself. As for improvements, obviously some music would go a long way towards the atmosphere, and I'd love to see it get longer with harder and harder puzzles. Also, it would be nice to be able to just click on the address instead of having to copy and paste it or type it in yourself. But really, those are minor issues and you did a fantastic job, especially on a short timeframe!

criobite 2019-05-18 19:26

@acearcher Thanks, I'm happy you enjoyed it! I'll definitely be doing more with this idea, making a more polished game with more puzzles that get a bit more difficult. And yeah, lots more atmosphere with sounds and music!

jk5000 2019-05-20 14:37

An super interesting and overall very well made puzzle game. The puzzles were a bit confusing, but they were lucky not too difficult to be solved. The story is interesting and it super well told. The use of the chat-system was interesting, but it would have worked better, if what I wrote had any influence on the story. Overall a really great LD game. Well done.

caramelcode 2019-05-20 15:31

Very innovative game play! You did a great job simulating a desktop environment. It was easy to forget that I wasn't using an actual desktop. I loved your take on the theme too!

halfmule 2019-05-20 15:46

Really cool, and quite polished for a LD game! The only thing I would add is a little dot symbolizing the top of the turnable arrows. This way I had to guess their orientation quite a bit :)

gurkenlabs 2019-05-20 16:24

I loved the scenario and the mini-game itself. In later levels I found it hard to distinguish the start node visually, so I just dragged all arrows into the empty nodes until the start node got more visible. Honestly, the lack of sound effects didn't make the game any worse, it even underlined the dystopian mood a little :P

Great job with this game, I'm looking forward to seeing the remaster.

dock-frankenstein 2019-05-20 17:09

It reminds me of my game from the last ld "just delete them", where you had to delete files in a folder, to delete objects inside the game.

jsec 2019-05-20 17:12

Superb game. Respect on technical part, i looked it up a little bit, and its really polished. Great job!

simone 2019-05-20 17:31

An LD game with an actual story :) Good Job!

johnnysix 2019-05-20 18:07

Wow amazing stuff. The UI is great, an the story enthralling. I don't want to give anything away so here's an earlier shot. Love the chat / windows interface.

Great puzzler - would be cool to see more!

Love it! I really enjoy the simulated PC, and appreciate the inclusion of the fake web browser. It comes together in a really immersive way.

It was occasionally challenging to read the later diagrams, when multiple lines were overlapping with other lines. Not quite sure what to do about that, but I ended up with a more 'guess-and-check' approach than I'd really appreciate.

Way to go creating the full story arc, something that feels like a start-to-finish game, in the time allotted.

SFX would have been fantastic.

@jk5000 @caramelcode @halfmule @gurkenlabs @franciszek-pyrc @jsec @simone @johnnysix @trevor-shoe

I appreciate hearing what you have to say about my entry! I definitely agree on the points of criticism such as how it would be better with choices that influence the story, improving legibility of the puzzles, having better puzzles in general, and of course, having sound effects and music. Those ideas will all generally be going into the "remaster" of the game, and of course I'll post about it on this site when I get that new version released!

Thanks again for playing and rating See:NoMore, and I hope all of your entries all did well!

Sorry about that! The site wasn't responding and I clicked the Publish button a multiple times; didn't realize it would just post a ton of duplicates! :grimacing:
