NICE :D
Pretty good if you ask me
Really enjoyable movement system. Definitely an innovative solution.
It's tough when you lose team members you were counting on. Sorry to hear that. I don't understand the card game mechanic, rock paper scissors... but other than that, it's missing something to pace it out and let you know the AI has done something. Has potential if that aspect of the game were fleshed out a little more.
I like the movement system. I am terrible at card games though.
It seems to be a web build, no? The itch page is only linked as "The Game on Windows". Maybe also add the link under web, so people know they can play it in browser :)
The stealth movement system was really cool, I would love to see a similar system in a full game. I think I would have really enjoyed the card system, but I forgot what colors beat which other colors, and it wasn't obvious in-game. So some more in-game tips about the rules of the card game would have been very helpful. Also more visual information like numbers on the health bar, and debuffs (so you can see how long they're stunned for, etc..)
Otherwise very well done! Keep up the amazing work.
@niels @bubba Thank you Niels and Bubba ^^
@vilmantas Thanks! We wanted to make an escort quest that wasn't that much of a struggle and would still be interesting. Thank you for trying the game ^^
@bastian-bresson right! thank you I forgot to add the link for that. I first only built it for windows because of the deadline. Thank you for the heads up and for playing the game!
@ohfiddlediddle Thank you! We were planning for a bigger map, but to keep the game more polished we decided this would be good for now. We should have added more points of feedback into the game, but I like your feedback on showing the colors in the battle screen! That would definately help players.
@terristen @watswat5 Thank you for playing! Like I told fiddle above, the game definately needed more feedback/explenations, in the middle of the screen it shows what cards have been played but it should be more clear the card changes. Thank you for the feedback!
That is a nice game ! I believe it lacks feedback too much, espacially during the card game phase. I was never sure what was going on and I was just stunning and damaging my enemies as mush as possible, without taking care of the cards colors and it seemed to work :p The movement is great but it is boring having to move the player and the camera with different controls ^^
I didn't really understand the card game, but I was able to win twice. I really liked the movement mechanics. I've worked with Unity's drag and drop api before (if that's what you used) and it can be really frustrating sometimes, but I liked the idea that you can set the path and press play when you're ready. Good game!
The movement system was interesting, if it was polished it would make an interesting game - drawing and planning a path and then executing it at the perfect time. I liked the music!
I struggled with the card game, but I really liked the movement system! It's a fun game and I enjoyed the experience! Good job!
Nice graphics and unique ideia. if you could make the player look to his path, i think will be more interesting (visualy). But, really cool game.
Good Job!
This was a neat take on stealth movement! The drag point was a bit hard to find sometimes, but it worked pretty well otherwise.
Didn't understand the card game at all. The movement idea was super cool. I could see a full game being based on that mechanic. Definitely lends itself to a stealth sort of vibe.
I think you should have closed off the bottom. The first time I played I just wandered off into the nothingness.
Lots of stuff packed into this game. What's happening in the card game was hard to follow but somehow I won. The sneaking was nice
Didn't really understand the card game part. I liked the movement. Its cool to drag to move the character. Sucks that your team couldnt all make it. Good Job!
The stealth mechanic was quite cool. It did seem a little buggy when you accidentally dragged over an obstacle and would sort of need to start over. I also found the card game to be confusing. I think the cards needed the icons to be unique to the what the card was able to do, in addition to the color. Overall, well done!
Interesting take on the movement, I could see it working great on mobile!
Really like the draw-a-path movement setup! As others pointed out, the combat is a little confusing, but overall a cool entry.
~~Sorry. Different game. Will post my comments on this one in a moment.~~
Alright. That was rather interesting. The movement was something unexpected. Without the proper animations, I found it hard to tell if the enemy was throwing a card (since it always showed me the pineapple?). The cards could be made bigger since it's hard to read it when it's small. I would have thought the camera would follow the character and being able to move it I guess made it much easier. My heart did jump when one of them spotted me haha so the suspense is there. Needs some work but overall, nice entry.
Cool movement but card game did confuse me a bit. Maybe instead of colors that defeat each other just link it to elements or something a little more intuitive so you don't need to remember as much. A tutorial card game would really help me but I know it is LD.
Really really innovative ideas in this game, the movement mechanic was fund to play around with and the card based combat was really enjoyable although the enemy kept playing his pesky pineapple.
Lots in this for the amount of time you had during the jam, so great work! With some more polish it could be a super game to play!
can i somehow start movement with a key, not by press button on screen?
The game has a good Idea, but I felt some problems - Clicking on a button on the screen is okay, but probably should've added a keyboard key for doing it too, like Space. - The texts on the cards are REALLY hard to read (Even on fullscreen)
Besides that, the game is good to play
I really liked the drag mechanic, but it was very finicky and hard to get working correctly. Also, the ending wasn't too rewarding. I thought the combat was pretty strategic, which I liked! Well done :)
cool game, it's quite hard to see the texts unless I go fullscreen(still can't read the blue text), I'm not really sure why you should drag the character, the mechanic takes quite a time to get used to
Interesting game! I liked the card combat system, although the 2 turn cards appear too often in my opinion, making the game too easy.
I don't fully understand why the movement of the character is done dragging, but overall it's a pretty good game!
Well done, keep up the good work!
GJ
The movement mechanic was an interesting choice and it's a cool combo with the card battler! It was pretty fun to battle although the stun cards are OP. I think focusing only on one aspect for the next jam would leave you more time to polish everything. Other than that nice work!
With my level of English it was difficult to understand the maps. Unfortunately( the game looks good!
@saering Thank you for your feedback! I definately agree! For the next update I want to simplify the combat system in a way that we can make it bigger but more understandable. Maybe instead of saying "The player does this much damage I could just do +5 Damage?" About the camera feedback, I think we might change that so it follows the mouse a bit, which will make drawing better! (hopefully)
@blotosaur @phlip45 @tom-stephenson Thank you for your feedback! We really appreciate it ^^ On @phlip45's point, I am not sure how you were able to walk off just yet. On my builds there is a wall there so I will try and find out the magic there!
@natpat @ankou Thank you for your comments, we already have some ideas on how to improve on the movement. Some easy changes can do a lot on that part. And I fully agree with the music, we had an amazing audio designer ^^
Hey @colan! Thank you for trying out our game, I am pretty happy with how the art turned out, we wanted to fix the animations, but unfortunately didnt have enough time for that.
Thank you @mneubrand and @twistashio for playing and giving us some well needed feedback ^^
Thanks for the feedback @nicksmaddog, the idea of adding more symbols could be good! Due to the time limit we didnt have a chance to do that but it might be good for a future update!
Thanks @jayprog, we were planning on porting it to mobile after the jam! Glad others thought the same way!
Thank you @lectvs we were pretty happy with the movement concept ^^
Hey @demkimos @vernalbehemoth Thank you for the feedback! Yeah, we have 3 different enemies but I kinda forgot to set the types on the map, which keeps them on the default enemy type (the pineapple) so that would be my fault lmao. We should have made the cards bigger and will try to fix that later on ^^
@jetthesimon I really like your idea of having one tutorial enemy, this would really help I think, with the extra player feedback on the cards could make it so much better. Thank you very much for testing our game :)
Hey @xart2012 and @thelemba, we might add multiple movement options later on in the game, but for the jam we wanted to try some new movement ideas ^^ Thank you for trying the game!
@shunaky thats a pretty good tip! We haven't thought about adding shortcuts to some of our UI stuff, we will definately implement this later on! Thank you for your feedback ^^
@adonisdevs For the jam we haven't spent much time into the ending, but this will definately be on our list for later on!
Thank you for playing through our game @patsui! We'll definately be going back to a smaller concept next time, but for this jam we wanted a bit of an extra challenge and find a game we could improve on ^^
Hey @ggrusha, this is an interesting issue, would you be interested in more languages or would cards like "+5 damage" be better?
@elektroney thank you :)
I liked drawing a path and executing at the right time, but I often had trouble getting the game to draw the right line, and got caught a lot. I also had a bit of trouble understanding the card game, though like what a lot of people have said, some more UI with game tips and HP info would really help
I recommend to work on adding transitions between the stealth and combat sections. It was an interesting choice to move by drawing a path (props on getting that to work) and having battles be a card system. Unique, for sure, but they need a little more work to better blend in. Why not keep the card system outside of battle, like metal gear acid, and let me choose different actions to avoid battle via my deck and then the deck changes when I engage a battle? That might be an interesting idea
@flubz-5 thank you for playing our game! The movement can be kind of difficult at times, we found what caused this and this should be fixed. The card game still needs a bit more feedback, but we'll be working on that after the jam.
@prodigalson Transitions would definately be a nice adition, we will be looking into that after polishing the movement and combat but will definately be on our to do list! Trying to avoid battle could be pretty good too, we'd probably have to rework some stuff but we'll see how that will work ^^
Thank you for your feedback!
Really nice game dude!
Very cool! Great for 3 days. I didn't really understand the fights.
