Fancy! I like the visuals, and way you handled the theme. I'd recommend making the level openings shorter, it was quite frustrating to have to spend 5 seconds looking at the level I failed instead of playing it.

Nice game, love the background effect!
@fishergoodwin you are absolutely right about the openings. That particular fix was on my "wishlist" after my wife had recommended it to me. I never got to it! >_<
Thanks for playing!
I really like the way you did the theme! The visuals were also very nice! It was hard to which was interesting and fun!
"Goes Buck Wild" is pretty hard =) Love the mechanic of "breaking leg"
Love the music, art is simple but appealing, fun platformer well done!
I like the gameplay, even if I think it's quite hard. What makes it fun to play are the short levels (at least the ones which I could play are short)
One thing that I don't like that much, is the wait time before I can play a level.
Thanks, @cubicode ! Just so you know, by default the "Skip Levels" option is turned on. Just press 'N' to go to the next level and 'B' to go the previous level. So if you get stuck on one, but still want to see what's next, you can just skip it
@walkalope : Now I remember that I have read this in the options...
Controls felt a little unresponsive and I'm not the biggest fan of the physics engine, but if we ignore these things, you got a fun little platformer here with nice visual style and a interesting game concept. Good job.
That's actually a great platformer, I like the fact that every level has a name, it gives the whole thing some atmosphere, some seriousness. To my opinion the most important thing to fix is, well, the jump. It is not impossible to play but for a game based on jumping I think it needs more work.
I know that time was pretty limited, and I know that having a great jump mechanic is maybe one of the hardest thing in games, but the air control seems very limited, it looked almost impossible to change direction in air, and it didn't feel very responsive.
Very good idea to add buttons to skip levels! Also, I liked the art and the character especially, it's great that it is rounded and jumps in a square based world, great way to spot it correcly !
Nice entry overall :)
Heya, I played this live today. You can find the video here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/418104572?t=01h30m05s
Really enjoyed the game, nice backgrounds and good level design ^-^

I've made updates to the game on a separate upload (not to be rated) based your feedback. Changes include:
1. The player now has air-control 2. The movement-smoothing has been reduced 3. The wait time before the level start has been reduced 4. The player now retains momentum upon leaving a moving platform 5. Removed all pressure plate puzzles - replaced them with new puzzles using a "leg-refill" mechanic
Thanks so much for playing and for providing feedback. If you want to see how the game feels now, check it out here: https://walker-p.itch.io/break-a-leg
Fun game, I can se you've already updated a bunch of stuff on the post-dare, would say if there's an option to button push past the intro completely if you've died on a level would be great. Even if the wait is shorter, it's vexing to sit through the title again.
Music is nice, great stuff for 48h. More blood would be a bonus, post-dare :D

When I did the first double jump I was so surprised! Its a coll mechanic, great job!
Well done! "Goes Buck Wild" and "Grows" are truly hard. A bit too close to being impossible in my opinion. But otherwise a great platformer. I really love the background; so simple but still effective.
Awesome! I LOVE plain, empty-eye characters! (small nod to our game! ;) but the play here is fantastic! Really got into the flow of it. Good job!
(Jam version) The character is a little too rigid in his movements (no control area) and the level puts a little too much time to start.
The concept is simple but works well. I love the background, it is really basic but efficient.
(Post-Jam version) the controler has become much more enjoyable and levels start are faster, his has been a good surprise and contributes to a good game experiance: D
Good work.
