Hi dude I saw your game, and I wanted to know if it was possible for us to talk (Twitter: @itplay_ | Discord: DSGN#4322) I loved the idea and the gameplay, and want to work with you on this game, to create a full game with your idea and what you did for the jam. Send me a private message, my DM are open everywhere

Has a nice mood especially with this music. Feels like being there by myself!

You've did a lot of great job with this game.

wardetta 2019-04-29 18:31

Nice concept loved the thrill and the idea , well made!

andreadbx 2019-04-29 20:38

Nice concept, the sprites are very well done and in a very good art style, the environment in my opinion doesn't match well, the perspective on the walls is kinda weird, with doors having the right perspective and walls not, i suggest at least to change the sprites on the wall to make them a bit different from the floor, overall nice entry, i would have liked to play it more, it ended quickly :D

cem-adiloglu 2019-04-30 05:42

thank you all for your comments :) i actually implemented a procedural dungeon that can last longer but then disabled it as i did not have time to debug any problems and wanted to have a short game experience for the game jam so people wont get bored and jump to another game :D

saering 2019-04-30 09:39

Nice entry! I like the mechanic, but I think it is a bit too easy to fool the game since you can just rotate your mouse fast enough to stop every monster and run through the level :p Maybe add more feedbacks, accentuate the stress, the fear of the monsters (I know it's not a horror game though), but overall this is really neat ! Great job

quagga 2019-04-30 09:53

Nice game! )

cem-adiloglu 2019-04-30 09:54

thanks :) well the worst thing about solo developing without testers is you can't be sure about the difficulty :) I didn't want it to be too difficult so people get frustrated. but it might end up easy at the end :)

sillyman987 2019-04-30 10:11

Good, except I popped out in places when I wasn't leaving.

rolly 2019-04-30 10:25

Brilliant concept! You opt-out from audio and graphics, but good job on finding the ones that fit your game perfectly.

My only frustration comes from the doors because the transitions happen as soon as you are in front of the door, and it didn't feel right. Sometimes I only wanted to follow the wall, and got surprised of appearing in another room and take unecesseary damage.

Great game!

cem-adiloglu 2019-04-30 11:02

you are 100% right. I should have fixed the doors and I knew how to do that, and then forgot about that :)

draedrus 2019-04-30 11:13

Nice job ! Cool idea and simple :) I like it !

marcosshiuuri 2019-04-30 11:21

I think I like everything in this game. The graphics are cool, the music is not bad and it is simple to play. I had fun while playing it..

Well, congratulations on this game for Ludum Dare o/

vertuga32 2019-04-30 11:57

Cool idea with light and monsters. Nice graphics.

Levels confusing, a lot of monsters. I lost and died 10 times)

florian-klein 2019-04-30 14:11

I love the cosmonaut, and the light control. Flash lights are the best.

mimusangel 2019-04-30 14:15

I like this mechanic! Weeping Angel! (doctor who)

liauj 2019-04-30 14:29

Very charming game, using light the way you did made for some interesting map navigation (although I often found myself bumping into the monsters anyway, whoops!)

You could try easing up on the amount of monsters and slowly introduce more as the player progresses, so they know what to expect after a few minutes in easy rooms. Nice jam entry!

melaniee 2019-04-30 14:32

Very cool game! It's impressive that you managed to do so much all by yourself! The concept, the music and the art are really cool! It's fun to play, I like how the monsters just seem to teleport you leave them out of light for a second. I just didn't really understand where the theme "your life is currency" has been implemented. Otherwise, really, good job for this game!

green-rail 2019-04-30 15:01

Great entry! First time I realized they moved when in the dark, it was legit scary. Although navigation through many identical rooms is a real pain.

svdvorak 2019-04-30 15:25

What a cute little astronaut guy. It's a shame that he kept dying on me! :) Pretty hard to keep track of everyone though it helps a lot that you can move them when aiming the flashlight on them. I loved the little intro you did too, very smart to have one explaining how it works!

cem-adiloglu 2019-05-01 11:19

@melaniee The theme implementation is that you charge your flash light with your health. might not be the best but thats what i habe thought :)

t-bo 2019-05-02 09:00

Nice work on light and great concept ! I really like the cosmonaut. Good job !

sangemdoko 2019-05-02 09:11

Interesting game. Did you think about about adding a button to stop/start using the flash light?

cem-adiloglu 2019-05-02 09:41

@sangemdoko thanks. I did actually. I also planned to have multiple procedural dungeon levels with using the power rods as recharging stations. but then I decided to remove them as it would bore ludum dare players (as many people wants to try multiple games instead of investing that time on a single game)

but I'm considering to activate those for future implementation

sbeif 2019-05-02 09:42

This is really nice! Can I ask you how you implemented the light reflections on the monsters? It's really cool and I'm not sure how to do it in 2D. Is it a custom shader?

cem-adiloglu 2019-05-02 09:57

@sbeif thanks. it is easy actually. you need to use normal maps just like 3d objects. then you assign a material to the sprite with regular texture and normal map texture. you can create 2d sprite normal maps using several software. I used this one: https://www.codeandweb.com/spriteilluminator

jestemstefan 2019-05-02 12:23

Nice game! Flashlight/light mechanics are really cool!

My only complain is that I very often jump to another room while still being far from doors. Very annoying...

supernapie 2019-05-02 18:00

Nice stealth game! Liked the choice of music too...

douglima 2019-05-02 23:19

The music is great. I liked the mechanics. The shader work is impressive too. Very nice!

vlad-shish 2019-05-04 20:29

Cool idea :) I got a lot of fun playing on this game.

amerigo-gazaway 2019-05-05 06:41

Great work! Cool gameplay mechanics and eerie vibe. It's creepy how the monsters keep appearing on the map, really keeps you on your toes. I saw you opted out for audio...if you're ever in need of such a thing feel free to get in touch. Some more examples of my work here: http://amerigogazaway.com/licensing/

snowschu 2019-05-21 19:13

I found this pretty cute and clever. It gave me a real Doctor Who vibe (Weeping Angels). Swinging the light around to find and avoid the monsters is pretty cool.

Graphics look pretty solid and the music was nice. If you're interested in continuing on with it, I would work on the dialog a bit and some UX (going through the doors, for example. Super sudden in their effect and a little disorienting). As a plus, the mini map in the lower left was a nice addition.

However, main issue was that you only provided an browser version of the game. Sadly my computer doesn't handle browser games very well and as a result doesn't really show your game off your game very well. If you're able to in future game jams, providing an executable along with a browser version goes a long way. <3

Thanks for submitting your game, as well. Here’s the [link to the stream](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/427854891?t=39m53s). Your game should start around [39:53].
