LD39 — Running out of Power

Robo Nanny by kalyrical 2017-08-01T21:15:40Z

Not bad. Simple. Took me a few tires to understand what I needed to do. After that, no issues (crashes, bugs, etc). The text above the head was a little difficult to read. **Overall, enjoyed it! **

LD44 — Your life is currency

AVida by ghust1995 2019-05-21T19:08:27Z

Very interesting. I would probably also put this in the Visual Novel category as well, since it's pretty much only story heh.

The poem was lovely, however, I felt that it could have had a stronger impact if there was a bit more for the character to do, than just talk to the well. There was talk of a coin, so maybe the player could have tossed in the coins themselves.

Rude Bear Reassembled by alexrose 2019-05-10T07:46:48Z

This was a blast to play. Bit of a difficulty spike but not in a bad way. I loved the economy system and just how that played in to the strategy of the game. The art and music were fantastic too.

Pretty cool. The visuals were definitely interesting. Music was great. <3

Life in the Fast Vein by Dorblin7z7 2019-05-10T07:41:12Z

This was a great racing game. I liked how you really simplified the controls and handling. Using your blood as the fuel was cute. The Bloodletting is actually kind of clever, IMO. It keeps the game fun for the player by not making them start over each time heh.

The art was pretty great, too. One thing I appreciated was the addition of the shadows under the floating blood objects. It made it less frustrating when trying to aim for them as I drove. Specially with a game like this. A small details like that go a long way.

Cat Outta Hell by tifu 2019-05-05T22:28:42Z

Super cute. I love the idea of getting a cat out of hell lol. I'm not super great at platformers but it felt alright. The music was great. We had talked about how the music kind of layers on itself with each power up. That was pretty clever. Great job!

You life is just currency! by alexhonor 2019-05-21T19:19:31Z

This was pretty funny. It's kind of meta, since the player IRL is kind of giving their life up to play the game. The dialog prompts were funny. I think I would have liked them to have stayed up longer or let the player remove the window once they're done reading. I felt like I had missed some funny moments.

Choice of Life by victorcrafty 2019-05-10T07:49:14Z

Pretty clever. It took me a bit to get use to but I really liked the idea that you had to sacrifice your senses (and some choice organs) to fight. The art was really on point. Very distinct.

Mint Sprint by kaiclavier 2019-05-03T16:31:43Z

Puzzles were really enjoyable. I loved the 'move the bus' style of puzzle solving. I also thought it was clever to use drum sounds for the coin sfx. Great job!

Zap Signal by christina-antoinette-neofotistou 2019-05-10T07:52:34Z

LOL this game was great! Great idea to use the microphone as the mechanic. The art was spot on as well. Really clean. Only problems I had was the game lagged a bit over time. Can't wait to check out of the other games you've made.

DEADline by SecretPocketCat 2019-05-05T22:39:53Z

So it was a bit rough for me lol. I had a difficult time going from typing to jumping. But I love the concept. There aren't very many games out there that use this mechanic now days (Last game I played that was similar was Typing of the Dead). There's definitely something fun here. I would love to see how you further develop this out, if you decide to continue with it. Great job! <3

The Joy of Creationism with God Ross by AndideBob 2019-05-05T22:37:15Z

Interesting! It reminded me of Mountain a bit. I didn't really feel like it went with the theme too well, as there weren't really any parameters that limited me in my creation of this world. I enjoyed the music however. Very relaxing. <3

Bloodbarn by Honest Dan 2019-05-05T22:42:01Z

Love the concept. Very cute. I've gotta thing for farming sim games so this was right up my alley. It was a little hard to tell when I was hitting enemies but I think that comes with time as well. Some type of feedback that I'm hitting the enemies is diffidently something to look into.

NEOLITE by Extrone 2019-05-10T07:54:10Z

This was pretty fun! Once I got the hang of the controls (shooting was a bit difficult to figure out) and upgrading, I felt pretty OP, but in a good way. Visually, it was really pretty.

I also want to thank you for the settings you put in. Not many game jam games get the time to put those in. I have a lower end, old computer, so those were a real game saver for me. Much appreciation.

The 7 Cents Deal by Probe31 2019-05-21T19:45:12Z

This was super cute. Loved the art and aesthetic, overall.

It's been a bit since I ran a register so it took me a few tries to get in a rhythm of making change lol. At first, I felt it was a bit too fast. I think I would still agree with that thought after getting use to the mechanics. If you were to continue on I think adding a type of speed progression (slow then moving up to fast) or possibly 'add more time' when you succeed, would be nice.

I think as an added challenge, maybe switch up the prices a bit more often. I ended up getting the same change 3x in a row. I did like, however, the idea that some change was omitted from being used from time to time.

I streamed this as well (found it via a suggestion from another game I downloaded lol). Here is the [link to the stream](https://www.twitch.tv/videos/427854891?t=01h41m). Your game should start around [01:41:00].

Battery Life by Attala 2019-05-03T16:27:15Z

Fun and clever. I loved how the UI was integrated with the character design rather than needing a separate menu and how the battery terminals sparked when there was energy leftover. I also enjoyed the added tension the enemies. Congrats on your first game. <3

Darkling by jordantanner 2019-05-21T19:04:50Z

Thanks for including the windows executable version! This was a super improvement for me. Thank you <3

This was actually much more fun than I was expecting. While there wasnt a lot of strategy in how I killed the spiders, it was oddly not super stressful as they spawned and ran towards me lol.

There were a couple points where I was confused by where the spiders were spawning (which was everywhere lol) and also the orbs. While there were instructions, I would have liked some more of the UI to have reflected the orb's effects (the red ones took me too long to figure out their purpose lol).

Overall, it felt great and was fun. Can't wait to see if you take this further.

Snek Farm by t3nshi 2019-05-21T19:23:52Z

Really cute. The pixel art was pretty on point. I liked the use of the mechanics of 'snake'. Really fun to try to grow the crops without running into myself lol

I mentioned it when I streamed this but it would have been super great to include a downloadable downloadable file. Browser is great for most people but some games don't run the best (this depends on the individual's device though). That being said, I'm glad it was in javascript. It ran really smooth.

MoneyBag by Lexyvil 2019-05-03T16:35:20Z

Very cute. The art and animation was adorable. I'm not very good at platformers so I did struggle a bit. Overall I was amused. Good job!

Arrow of Light by sylvie 2019-05-05T22:31:30Z

Really cute game. I liked all the little bits of world building you put in there. I thought I found the use of flowers as health interesting. If this was further developed, I think as a player, I would like it if I had the option to pick up flowers rather than just walk over them (even though I knew they regenerate when I re-enter the screen). The arrow shooting was frustrating yet satisfying lol. Great job!

Behind Your Light by Cem Adiloglu 2019-05-21T19:13:59Z

I found this pretty cute and clever. It gave me a real Doctor Who vibe (Weeping Angels). Swinging the light around to find and avoid the monsters is pretty cool.

Graphics look pretty solid and the music was nice. If you're interested in continuing on with it, I would work on the dialog a bit and some UX (going through the doors, for example. Super sudden in their effect and a little disorienting). As a plus, the mini map in the lower left was a nice addition.

However, main issue was that you only provided an browser version of the game. Sadly my computer doesn't handle browser games very well and as a result doesn't really show your game off your game very well. If you're able to in future game jams, providing an executable along with a browser version goes a long way. <3

Collecting Really Nice Cats! by cheesepencil 2019-05-05T22:46:27Z

LOL! This game was so goofy. SFX/VO was great. I had some goofy bug where the game would just end and say "You Win" before I had enough cats collected. Overall, pretty funny. <3

Trash Planet Explorer by Bauke Regnerus 2019-05-05T22:25:45Z

Wow this game looked really great! The shield damage and slow down effect was really neat. Took me a min to notice but though it was clever. I was super bummed to see that you weren't able to finish it. Please continue on, I'd love to see more of what this world might be. <3

Finite Earth by mihoci10 2019-05-05T22:44:03Z

Not bad! Music was catchy, although I would suggest putting some type of fade between tracks (or even a fade at the end of the track if it was just the one). One thing I would have liked was that the shop's contents was just on the main screen instead of having to click to a shop menu, just from a UX standpoint. I think this game has some potential and would be super cool to see this developed further. Good job!
