I've played this game today, loving the graphics and music! Sometimes while jumping, it bugs into a position, but it's solved when you jump a second time. Overall a very good game, would love to see a complete and adventurous story line! 8/10 ★★★★✰

I've tried it and it was actually good. I had problem with doors tho and the music were a bit boring but i like how the game is fast and the abilities are good. I wish it would be longer so i can enjoy.

A good game! I had a good time playing it! But it would be so much easier to play and I think it would get a better rating and more people would play it if you could play the game directly in the browser. With Unity you can simply change your game in the build settings to WEP-GL and upload it to e. g. itch. io or simmer. io.

Good fun and cute graphics. Only thing is that sucking blood slows down your run through the levels, which when you keep insta-dying somewhere near the end, can break the flow a bit. Enjoyed it thoguh.

Cons first, you could have done better with your color choices. The spikes with the same color than the floor? Nope. Almost opaque blood overlay that hides everything? Nope.

This apart, the level design is great, I like the arrow pointing down like "jump into the spikes dude :D". I'm always fond of designs including backtracing with upgrades allowing access to new parts of the map.

You did an amazing job, the cons could be corrected with like 5 extra minutes of dev, so I'll just overlook them. Great entry :)

Pro: - super cool Castlevania style soundtrack - really nice art - good controls - good level design - intuitive

Con: - Insta death can feel a bit unfair - yeah that's it :smile:

Definitely one of my favorites so far. Nice work!

@garys Thank you very much for your comment. It was my very first official game for jam. It was unplanned, rapid, and spaghetti-full game. When I first imagined the game, I wanted my player to suck and kill people by dashing into them. But while running out of time and having not designed a single level was kept me away from that idea. We'll try to improve this with some little updates. Thanks you!

@xahell Sorry for the colors. I tried using some palette to not screw up colors but I'm colorblind. It's hard for me to choose them. But I'll try my best to keep my colors well chosen :sweat_smile: Also I added those signboards when there is only 5 minutes left to submission. @syrapt0r Thank you. Music wasn't mine. I'm trying to be better at music but it's as you know it's hard at some point. We wanted to change insta death but man trying to fixing game killing bugs were more important :sweat_smile:

wow, I just rage-quitted your game facing the final boss. I have put so much effort into learning the levels by heart, getting the perfect jumps, dodging the rat, knowing the spikes' apparition pace and hitbox and I land against a boss which teleports himself behind me and throws fireballs at such speed that I can't dodge them, killing me in about half a sec. Aside from the impossible boss, it's a really good jam game ! A lot of effort was put into visual effects (Ludumkula's shadow, particle effect for blood, animations, background, layer on camera...) and the result is here : I had a 20 minutes long tryhard session on a simple but efficient platformer. Good job and give me more checkpoints pls

Thank you for your review @lucas-kauff You can dodge projectiles by dashing. It makes the boss fight really easy. We really worked hard for that dash. So use it :smile: 20 minutes! That's insane. I speed run it in 5 minutes :sweat_smile:

This game is really hard, and I rage quitted at the final boss stage because there is this attack where he fires a fireball too fast for me to jump over but will hit me if i just stand still, which I feel is a bit unfair. The main problem for me with this game is the boss because you need to react very quickly or else you are going to die. Other than that though, everything else was pretty fun! I really like the music and sfx, and the fact that I have to explore around the area to find blood so that I can unlock skills that let me progress makes me feel like I'm playing a metroidvania. Good job!

Control is solid, graphics and audio are nice.

It's kinda annoying that you have to first go through the level to suck up blood and then go back to beginning to unlock the thing that can let you progress to next level, then go through the level again. All these without making any mistake.

I really like the graphics and the music fits nicely! One thing to note: Please name your files.. The download file is just named "2" which might represent your build version or something, but when I have 30 downloaded games in a folder I have no idea what's "2" Also, the W key didn't work for jumping, up arrow worked fine though.

Guys - I'm sorry, but I am "Rage quit". Level 4 is just awful. you can’t normally jump over the second saw, the gap for climbing up to the second floor is too narrow, and in the end you have to jump without knowing where and I, of course, jumped right onto the stakes. The idea with a "One shot" was bad - it immediately comes to mind "mighty num. 9". The graphics are normal, the music too, the idea is cool, but the levels are just hard. There is also a bug on the third level, there is a second one behind one npc. And sometimes, before pumping, I could use the second jump. Good luck to you.

Overall game feels great. BGM, color palette, art style, level design and story blends well into a memorable experience. As for the mechanics, this game is hard though it is supposed to be hard as the story/setting suggest but Boss Fight can be a bit easier to complete the experience and enjoy it as a whole w/o rage quits. With all this, I really want more of this game as I'm sureit will flesh out as a great game with more time on devs' hands.
