This might be the stupidest game I've ever played. It was hilarious. The entire premise is stupid, you have to say stupid things out loud with a stupid voice and not absolutely die laughing at what you are saying, and then you have to listen to yourself back. I usually hate listening to my voice but this was just too funny. The number of jokes in this is just too good too. Bosnian Ape Society, breaking the 4th wall, breaking breaking the 4th wall, and Mr McGuffin ... hahahaha
My only gripe is it doesn't conform with the theme too much. You're asked to go deep, but not deeper *and deeper*...
I got a 72.68 btw!
This was a genius idea me and my friend had a blast playing this! Really good job! Easily my favorite from this!
@pixelportalz Hey, I'm sorry about that. I guess I misunderstood that the thing Unity exports isn't plug and play with Linux. I'll work on exporting it correctly right now.
I hope you give it a chance when I get it sorted out!
EDIT: There is a live Linux version now, though I can't test it. Also, because I'm using the Microphone API, I don't think I can port it to WebGL or MacOS without a bunch of extra tinkering. Sorry if that keeps anyone out!
This game is hilarious. Would love to know what exactly the rating means, I assume something to do with the deepness of your voice. This is probably the funniest thing I have played in a long time. It does feel a little rushed in some places, but overall great. Love the black mouth just vaguely moving in time to your voice.

@secretjuice please, please, please do a mac export too! My desktop PC (linux, windows) does not have a mic, I only have one on my macbook. I tried the game without it on windows and it looks a really fun which I really'd like to real try out :D please do the export, unity supports it! ;)
@mudlee Right now there's no Mac build because in order to use the Microphone API in Unity you have to find certain permissions somewhere to let the user authorize it. Right now I don't know how to make that work. Since you're expressing interest though, I'll look into it a bit harder. Thanks for getting excited for it!

Wow. This game is hilarious, stupid and stupidly funny all at once! This is by FAR the most creative interpretation of the theme I saw today and will probably stay for the rest of the rating period. (Just one small addition I would LOVE to see (without any undertone, whatsoever; just an idea): Try fetching a list of actual news from an API (I'm sure something like this exists) and have them displayed!) Very funny game nevertheless.
This game is hilarious. It was really fun to play. :thumbsup:

This is wonderful. Congrats for the first 5 on Innovation I've given across two LD events. It's so hard to go through those textboxes while trying to be serious.
This is a small nitpick, but I think the mouth would look better if it had no frame interpolation and had no texture filtering. It also should have a metric for scores to give players a general estimate of what to expect for a decent score, good score, great score, etc.
That's really the best I can do as far as criticism goes. Thanks for making the most out-of-left-entry I've seen yet.
@mudlee Good news! I theoretically have a macOS build live on itch.io now! The link to it might not show on the LD page but it is indeed live on itch. As I don't have a mac idk whether it works, but let me know if you see any issues. Thanks for your interest in the project!
This is a very fun idea executed well. Great work. Some rough edges (especially concerning Text sizing and placement), but incredibly fun.
@secretjuice Something is still not OK. The zip contains windows related files and stuff like that. Ideally it must be only one .app file which I can run, but looks like it does not run somewhy :(
@mudlee Oh no! I'm sorry about that mishap there. I just uploaded a possibly fixed version. Like I've said, I'm unable to test it internally so I can't be 100% sure it works. Hopefully it pans out better now!
@secretjuice unfortunately I get the same error. Maybe because I use a new M1 mac.
Anyways, I cloned out your project and tried to build it for myself. The problem is (ant the reason why I HATE Unity) that even though I used the exact same version of Unity for opening the project, the scenes are just empty. It's so frustrating that I have to code, but cannot make it work.
And you know what, before I go sleep, I'm gonna install this version of Unity on my windows too and try to build it there for my mac. Let's see if it works.
Update: OK, I gave up. I'm really sorry but somewhy it still doesn't work :( For Mac users: yes, I tried to open it with Rosetta, but still nothing good.
At least I gave you feedback that either Unity or OSX is a shit. Or both :)

Hilarious take on the idea of going "deeper and deeper". Prompt text was a bit small for me... and I could cheese it with just mumbling super low but it was still great!
This game was really hilarious to play! Although hearing my own voice was really cringy haha The concept was really creative and the execution was nicely done as well, fantastic work!

Funny, when working on the jam, somebody suggested having a game where the voice lines just keep getting deeper and deeper until they're indecipherable. This isn't quite that, but close!
Has anybody tested what score you get if you just rip a long fart into the microphone? :D
@jitspoe Thanks for playing it on stream, I enjoyed seeing it! I can't say I've seen a fart ripped into it, but I would say a lot of test runs involved pretty much shoving the mic into my mouth, and that produces pretty decent scores lol
Played the mac version, it is working. This game made me laugh --which is always a plus. This game is like no other I've seen or played during LD48, so congrats on the uniqueness and creativity. Not sure how the ratings are calculated, didn't seem to do better with a lower voices or a goofy high one. Really fun to goof around with though.

By far the most creative take on the topic of the entire jam. Trying to get the most deep voice as possible. A very unique way to control game by using your microphone. Art is minimal but sufficient to serve its purpose. My main criticism is that there should be 2 or 3 better funny takes at the end. It was quite clear you were out of funny ideas, but the funny ones you had were great.
I was really nervous playing this one on stream having to read and all xD and then at the end it plays my voice back to me omgosh I never even hear a recording of myself it felt like a direct attack on me haha
I really had fun though! it's such a unique take on the theme, it really stands out with the mechanic, but is also supported well with the sounds, humor, and even the graphics adds to it. The black circle for the mouth is hilarious and I wouldn't have it any other way >:)

Now this is just the kind of goofiness that is right up our alley. :smile: Such a nice simple premise squeezed for every drop of humor it's worth. I love how you encourage players to get extra goofy with it by rewarding points based on how "deep" they go. Really awesome work here. :ok_hand:
THIS WAS HILARIOUS! I had so much fun playing this game getting my voice as deep as possible. I feel like theres some creative endeavor here where you can make more gamplay around the fluctuations of the players voice. Absolutely incredible voice acting by the guy who replaces CHAD, super creative game play, I'm very impressed! Congrats!

And my god, what a gem your game is. I was going into it thinking I'd really hate it, since I'm not too comfortable with my voice, but damn! This was hilarious, it was entertaining, and I loved every second of it!
I got a score of 70.something. What is a good score? Would it be higher, if I didn't end two of the promts with "what the f**k"? :smile:
Anyway, I really had a blast. I have bookmarked this game to train deep voice with it :smile: Let me know what score should I strive towards :smile:

When I first tried the game I was eating pasta, needless to say I ended up choking on them while laughing and trying to impersonate a lumberjack at the same time. Worked really well with a good mic.
Incredibly inventive and hilarious game! Tell this "Secret_Juice" intern he should get better at coming up with prompts in time by the way, I don't think these would work in the journalistic world :smirk:
