LD48 — Deeper and deeper

Deeply Organic by DoctorTM 2021-04-28T23:10:37Z

Great game overall, I enjoyed the mish mash of genres. The audio was pretty good and synced up with everything that was happening on screen. I also really enjoyed the theme of the game. Going deeper and deeper into a patient is a funny take.

The section in the lungs was a little annoying to control because the character jumped so high that I felt like I was often overshooting the platforms I was aiming for. I feel like you were going for a doodle jump style section, so maybe if you made it so the player could go through the platforms from the bottom, it would feel easier to control. Also, the combat section was fun, but the player attacks felt really slow to come out. That would be fine on its own, but I noticed the swing sometimes misses enemies when they're right next to you, which can be frustrating because they can reach you before the swing comes out.

Overall, I really enjoyed the theme of this game. Good job!

Darkness in the clouds by Seskon 2021-04-29T00:16:32Z

I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the game. Your art style was really cute and looked great, especially when zoomed out during the flying cloud parts. You do a really good job of capturing an intense atmosphere as the player descends deeper and deeper.

The one thing is that the landing area for the second monolith isn't entirely obvious. You have to touch the tree root at an exact area. Since you fall through the tree if you don't hit that specific part, I thought the tree was part of the background and it took me several go arounds to land properly. Maybe if you created a specific graphical element like a red dot or a dock to make it obvious where you have to land.

Otherwise, it was a very fun game overall and I enjoyed its narrative aspects.

Dragonborn's Hoard - Mine! Mine! Mine! by fxydev 2021-04-28T01:13:27Z

Pretty cool game that reminded me of Stardew Valley's mining portion. The bats felt a bit fast in the sense that it's a little difficult to run away from them so you can turn around and shoot without being hit. Also, it would've been nice to have some sort of indicator of how much progress has been made (I didn't know how many levels I would have to explore and that made it feel a little slow). The mining felt nice and since the rocks break in one hit, it wasn't overly tedious.

Deep Drive by Ahmed Hamdi 2021-04-28T01:22:41Z

Interesting take on the deeper and deeper theme! One thing is I didn't really feel any boost from the nitro boost. Maybe if FOV zoomed out, it would give the car a sense of forward thrust.
