Didn't have a gamepad around so had to use mouse. Mouse controls are indeed very awkward. It would make more sense to have the mouse cursor visible, and have the direction point towards it and move while LMB is pressed.

Getting too weak in pollution at the top also just makes you stuck rather than dying/restarting game. The graphics are simple, but nice. Could be more interesting with terrain to swim though or enemy creatures.

This is obviously a pretty unfinished entry, but what you did manage make is pretty interesting. I like the visuals and the concept of the movement. In it's current state it's just not really playable.

an interesting idea, but too frustrating for me and there should be some restart button

rudenko 2021-04-28 04:57

@cyanilux @warrrkus @warrrkus Thank you for your comments, sorry for lack of restart button, i fixed this issue. About mouse controls im still not sure how to make it as cool as on gamepad. And yes, game has not have finish state till now, i fixed these and other minor issues. I really appreciate your feedback, thanks

Nice work! Very intuitive control! I think it would be great to add several additional mechanics when you dive to deeper and deeper. Good luck!

I tried to play the web version but it wouldn't load, so I downloaded the windows version and the game started but I couldn't figure out how to move. Mouse input wouldn't work so I used a gamepad and it let me "point" in a direction, but I couldn't move. My character would just float up until I got gameover.

Maybe i"m dumb, or maybe it's a glitch? What exactly are the controls?

saltfactory-studio 2021-04-30 04:51

I feel like it's a work in progress since it does get a bit repetitive and doesn't present much gameplay variation. I do like the overall presentation of the game, like the graphic and the audio, those feel very polished. I sure that if you had more time this would've been a great game. Nice work!

jitspoe 2021-04-30 07:49

Really innovating mechanic! Exceptionally difficult to use, well, though. Using the mouse to move is kind of like pressing W to move in a video game vs playing QWOP to move forward. Too easy with the mouse. Too difficult with the controller. :D I really like the idea, though. Just needs a way to adapt to it without being pursued by creatures that can swim perfectly.

@skleembof hey, there is some issues can be with web version on some machine's. I'm trying to figure. About movement, just click and move. But i have to disconnect gamepad on win version. On web you can just didn't press any button on gamepad, as soon as you press it detects is, while on native(windows) version, it detects on game starts.

rudenko 2021-04-30 11:26

@saltfactory-studio Yeah, as @katamary mention, it will be nice to have some new mechanics on game progressing. @jitspoe thank you for playing my game on a stream. That was great experience, and yeah, need to make game more friendly for gamepad people, haha. I as mention on stream, when you playing two days nonstop its hard to judge about difficulty. And playtest like this help alot

rudenko 2021-05-04 16:34

@skleembof i fixed issue with web version, i hope now all good :)

toppervideogames 2021-05-16 01:38

I really enjoyed this! I managed to reach the bottom using mouse, but it was still a fun experience to play through! I liked the moments of calm that could happen by staying still to not trigger enemies, and the frantic movement of evading them when they start to become too numerous. I actually felt sad for the enemies when they became so little they could do nothing but float up. It was a pretty strong moment to see something chasing me become so helpless. Excellent work, the simple style and audio added to the mood all around!

I love the atmosphere of this game!

alprog 2021-05-16 14:14

Nice one. I like style and mood of this game. It would be better if you add some progression.

jakubbala 2021-05-16 14:32

Amazing job on this game, really. The fact that it's all using your own engine too is very impressive. The control feel very good and the sound effects perfectly suit the game and emphasize it's features. One criticism I have though is that it doesn't seem to get harder, as I was kind of doing the same thing on repeat. However overall an amazing entry and you guys should be super proud! :)

james-macgill 2021-05-18 05:22

Love the mood and atmosphere. And that has to be the most unique input styles ever. It did indeed take me 8 plays to figure it out, I think it will take a few more to master.

Having a little more to eat early on before my first battle would have been nice - found the fights hard... perhaps once I have the input down a little better....

sfx on swimming add a nice touch too.

mololo 2021-05-18 06:07

Cool idea, I love the swimming animation and the gameplay is fun.

Maybe add some score to make the players want to play multiple times to get a higher score.

Overall a great game, good job.

joaog 2021-05-18 06:11

It's simple, but it is also challenging. I loved the audio and the beautiful simple graphics that perfectly match and complement the game’s vibe. I left the game open after winning and kept listening to the relaxing soundtrack while typing this comment. I really enjoyed that, Great job!

meep 2021-05-18 07:05

This was such a nice, aesthetic game :D The overall look of the game created such a calming mood, but had enough difficulty to keep you engaged. The movement/control is unique, and I hope to see it fleshed out into a more complete game post-jam. :)
