Thanks for making it exposed on web. Pretty crazy to see 3d browser games like this now. Great job! You should rate some other games to increase your games exposure on the main page's filter. :)

I think it's always hard to make a 3D game in a two day period, so I applaud the effort getting this to work. I really enjoyed playing as a cube and the colors were nice. I think if I were to improve this game, I would make the sword swing faster, and add some sound effects when you hit objects. Sometimes there is a bug where you get stuck on top of one of the "bad" cubes.

Man I missed the Unity footstep sound, its been a while since I heard that lol. I really liked the theming of the enemies around each cube. More feedback in general would have been nice. The first time I played I got killed by an enemy that was behind me and didn't notice since my health bar wasn't visible at the time.

I think you could work a bit on the attack, right now it doesn't feel like it's doing anything. But pretty cool map!

There is a variety in the environment here, so each felt like a challenges on its own. It would be nice to have an extra sound effect or two such as attack sound or indication that the cube has been switch. I got to the four cubes only to get teleported back down, so I'm not really sure if that's the conclusion of the game or not.

Hi, small tutorial in the beginning would nice. What is my target in the game?

emkani 2020-04-26 10:58

Idea is fine and the implementation works, would be great with a bit more feedback in terms of impacts especially.

It's a very simple game which I actually see having some potential. Here are some things I reccomend you trying to improve what you've already got, these are purely ideas that you might not have thunk of. (I know you probably didn't have time to do these but in case you wanted to expand on it) 1) Switch the models! Make the purple spinny cubes cystrals of somekind. The cube in your hand to a sword and the following cubes changed to little goblins and such. 2) Link the health bar to screen. 3) Add a main menu that explains the goal of the game. 4) Perhaps some light platformer elements to make certain purple cystrals more difficult to reach.

These are just suggestions to give you some stuff to think about.

A summary of my experience playing the game: *Step-Step, Step-Step* Darn Cubes!

Good on you for doing web 3D especially for the LD, I would have been to scared to do that.

In the comment above were already really good suggestions to improve this game. I want to add two: 1) It would be maybe easier to attack, if the sword swings in fron of you. An easy solution for this would be to use an Animation attached to the sword. 2) I would like to walk at the ground of the water. If you give the water object a new layer, you can switch off the collisions between the layer with the player and the water in the project settings at physics. But so far a solid start. The map with the diffrent zones is well made and the movement feels good - And of course the animated grass!

good game

I noticed by hitting 'e' I killed myself. What's up with that?

mrchippy 2020-05-01 18:54

That water sounded C R U N C H Y

I have a soft spot this kind of map/art style so I actually really like that. I can see what your going for and it was kind of cool seeing the different cube enemies behaving in different ways.

Great job in finishing the game! That's the hardest part!

After touching 4 cubes I was teleported into the air and there were 4 more cubes, but no enemies - not sure if that was supposed to be 2nd level or if it was game end. A simple canvas with "The end" would be enough :)

Cheers!

3D games are not easy, least of all in a jam setting, so kudos for taking it on! I was a bit unclear on the objective and confused by the floating green rectangle, but it probably would have come together with a bit more time. Nice work!
