Nice submission! Some things were a bit awkward, like "3" and "three" both being on there, and text not lining up until after you type most of the words... but the art, music, and overall feel of the game were great! My fingers hurt a little after this one haha. Good work
This is great. Not much else I can say about it. Typing games certainly aren't my thing but the feel behind the game and the music and art was fantastic.
I'm a sucker for typing games. This is really neat. Love the artwork. The music is also nice to vibe out to. Also love the Animal Crossing-esque audio when the player character speaks.
such a nice game, it's really polished. I love the camera movement, it makes you feel liek you're in the crowd
@t-c Yeah, I get the little inconsistencies, writing dialogue was the last part of my jam, and little things like the font I was using not having end-quotes or the letter *Q* caused a few of those problems. Otherwise, thanks for playing my game and taking the time to write a little note about it! I really do appreciate it! :D
@jaydubbyasee Aww, thanks! The animal crossing audio was actually sourced from a site that aims to make it sound just like that! I was shocked to see there was a place for something like that, but it was used for "It Was All For The Tuna" last jam, and I decided it'd be a perfect fit here!

@stellarnightmare, @castitatis, I'm glad you both enjoyed it, I spent a good bit of my time making sure the edges were sufficiently sandpapered -- I'm happy my polishing shines through!
Just played the game, the mechanic worked pretty well but was sometimes a bit unclear as it would type in a different line to the target word :( jokes were great tho :D
@osh-studio Yeah, it wasn't as much as a priority to me as it should've been to fix that, whoops (). Oh hey, you're the first guy to mention the jokes! Jokes were actually the last thing I did, so I'm glad they turned out good enough, even if I stole some for the endless mode! :zipper_mouth:
(of all the things, I didn't expect *jokes* to be the hardest, but alas, I just had to go with a linear dialogue tree after 30 minutes of doubting my comedy skills)

I want the "Wow, keep it up!" guy to pop up on my computer while I'm coding  Great game, it's so polished, definitely one of my favorites so far this jam.

See... You found a game style I'm actually good at... typing for no reason. It too me halfway through round one (even doing the tutorial) to realize that I could press backspace and fix my typos. Once I figured that out, it was all smooth sailing from there.
This was a really solid entry!
I appreciate that you actually wrote stand-up comedy for this game - all while having a full game around it! I enjoyed that it wasn't just a "raw speed" typing game, but rather a timing game, which I liked. (After all, timing is a part of the delivery, and...delivery is everything!)
If there's one thing to add - a simple laugh track after the punchline (or setting up maybe like 4-5 laugh track samples that are randomly chosen after punchlines?) might add even more to the comedy club vibes.
But generally, I had fun - thank you for making this game!
@hanadulcet Hey, that's a great idea, I've gotta do that (xD)! I'm glad you enjoyed it, I tried my best -- comedy was difficult for me to get, and I really still count the text as placeholder dialogue, but I'm happy it worked nicely! >:3
Hope you have a great day, thanks a ton for trying out my game!
@mrtroy Haha, I'm scared of how difficult it would be without the backspace, that's hilarious! Really happy you enjoyed it, I try my best!
@oter Someday I'll find a way to send that guy out into the world, you'll see! Glad you liked it, polish is really important for me and my games, so I'm happy all my effort shines through! :3
I LOVED this game, i wanna play in the future again. "Delivering the jokes" idea is really amazing. Congrats
@notdepressedeveloper Aww, thank you very much, man! I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it, thanks for playing!

Really fun game. I was surprised at how much effort I put into trying to type fast enough to make the voice sound "normal". Also loved the art
@asieke The *"intended"* way to play my game of course, hehehehe

Fun idea. I wish the lines were actually funny! (sorry :D) (Maybe the endless mode has more to offer?)
One thing I would improve is: although the word wrap makes sense for the line itself, it is a bit distracting when the wrapping of the target is different from the wrapping of what you have typed so far. Most of the time my letters exactly cover the target, but sometimes they are at the line above.
@aurel300 Nahhh, you don't need to apologize, I feel the same way about them ()! I can do *fine* at writing funny dialogue, but unfortunately it doesn't transfer over to comedy, especially when I give myself under an hour to write it. Endless mode is funnier, but that's literally cause I didn't write the jokes, haha ()! Line wrap is one of the things I have left to fix; I grew to not mind it much but I think it's a big enough problem to put some effort into, if I ever continue work on the game!
Excellent work! It's a super creative and clever take on the theme. I also liked the art and thought the sound effects were really cool.
@stephen-kyranakis Thank you very much, kind sir!
Nice graphics and the idea is quite interesting. Thanks for making a different kind of delivery game!

I really like the pixel art style of this game. It makes me feel like I'm at a live comedy show. The music in this game is also great. The game is full of humor, which makes me happy for a long time. Thank you so much for making such a great game!
@yuriscat Aww, thank you so much, I'm flattered (:3)! Really glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing!! Humor is something I'm still *really* unsure about (it was written in under an hour and limited at that for ease of typing), but comments like this boost my confidence in it ()! Music was AI generated, but art was worked on with blood sweat and tears, glad it shines through!
@ardorugus No problem, someone had to do it, hehehehe :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: (family members were the ones who actually came up with the idea of a comedy show, so I'm really happy I decided to try it out)
Heya!
I really enjoyed this take on the theme, and the premise is amazing. I thought the graphics and little touches like the moving camera and parallax with the audience, their callouts etc were all top notch. The music choice was a nice background, too. I even really liked the idea of typing out the lines (though the line-wrapping created some hitches here and there).
I was a bit disappointed that the gameplay just came down to typing out the text as fast / correctly as possible, and was expecting a bit more of a rhythm element when "timing" was mentioned. I can't help but feel like there was a more punchy, fun experience just around the corner if the stand-up set had been a series of shorter jokes like one-liners or similar, with points awarded for things like waiting a beat before hitting enter to leave a pause in the delivery etc. The lack of structured jokes did bring down the experience for me, as the longer conversational style set felt like it dragged a bit.
All in all though, from a systems and presentation perspective, this was very well put together and you should be super proud of what you were able to make in such a short span of time.
Thanks for sharing!

@sephowepho I'm glad to see someone using new technology to create games. I have to say again that your pixel art is really great. I really hope to see the complete work in the future! Have a nice day!(UWU)

Cool little game, really liked the idea! The game looked and sounded great overall. I felt like the tutorial was too long as well. I almost would have preferred just a simple tutorial telling me what I needed to do then maybe throw a few things up. The way you have it could work, but needs a little refinement. For a game where you're telling jokes I didn't feel like it was as funny as maybe it should have been? That's just a personal preference, but if you were able to lean into the humor a bit more heavily in both the jokes, but maybe also things like playing jokes on the player or doing different things, etc. that could have helped a little bit.
Good job!
Great game. It will go well as a simulator for fast blind printing. But it was a little difficult for me, since English is not my native language, and I type all the texts with two fingers with my eyes on the keyboard))

The art and style of this game slaps. I love the concept of a joke-throwing typing game. Everything was so polished, that the only negative things I can say are nitpicks. I suppose the biggest thing for me is that I wish there was a hard mode. Maybe I've just spent too long on computers, but my 130 wpm typing speed crushes the game's scoring system, and I think in a demographic of programmers there's probably a lot of people like me. I was also annoyed that the text you typed didn't always match with the guide until you wrote the whole thing. Either way though, this game was a ton of fun, and I think it was great. Awesome job :)

This was so well done! I like how you used the animalese to sound out the words that were being typed, (I think!).
;) Saw the shout out to It Was All For the Tuna and other really memorable games
honestly unique and fun to play with the touch of your own humor and writing, nice job!
