Oh my gosh this is amazing!!! I love it so much!!! My favourite thing about it is the pixel art, because I know how hard it is to make something that looks good and everything in here looks amazing! Unfourtunatly I found a bug where if you're tiny and grow back to normal size next to a platform, you'll get stuck in the platform and not be able to get out... I am so surprised this was made in 3 days!!!

I love the art direction you chose! The game looks so polished! I will say though that the latency curse is maybe a little too harsh and makes the game very very hard. Other than that it was an enjoyable time!

tevasliutauras 2021-10-04 23:31

Good idea and execution! Got some strong Celeste vibes which is always a compliment. The player felt a bit too floaty for me but anyways a brilliant submission.

Amazing pixel art wow

tubadude99 2021-10-04 23:37

I like the concept, and the art is awesome. I love the music, it perfectly fits a fast-paced game in a magical library. However, the platforming is a little frustrating (for instance, how long you have to hold the jump button to get full jump), and using 1-2-3 was a little confusing at first (I'd rather just stand in front of the NPC I want to talk to and press one button). Additionally, it's a little thing but it'd be nice if when I accidentally hit the number of an NPC that wants a book, but I'm not holding a book, then it would do nothing instead of reading it as wrong. Aside from those things, it's pretty fun.

The idea of the game is astonishing. The movement and art are impressive and satisfying. However, the UX is clunky, because I struggle to understand what I have to do with clients. Moreover, I don't like that I have to press 1, 2, 3 to interact. In my opinion, you should have made only one button for interaction.

lucas-viana 2021-10-05 15:23

Thanks for the feedback @tricky-fat-cat ! Our team is already discussing a patch note to improve the UX!

yagovictor 2021-10-05 17:51

I found the game very fun, no words for the graphics

matthieu-riboulot 2021-10-05 21:48

Good game but the balancing is too harsh with some questionable choices in the mapping in my opinion. Events are fun and well designed. Is there an ending?

lucas-viana 2021-10-05 21:51

@matthieu-riboulot Thank you for the feedback! No, actually the game is an endless casual.

khelian 2021-10-05 21:57

Nice game, has a good ambiance, art and sound and cool design ideas. A bit too hard, kinda strange mapping (maybe it comes from my controller but ↓ for climbing the ladders is a bit weird).

The randomness and the lack for an ending kinda gives it an "aimless" feeling, but I'd overall say it's a solid entry!

potkirland 2021-10-06 00:07

good stuff.. art is awesome but controlling an invisible character was too difficult for me

bomdiajj 2021-10-06 00:11

@khelian thanks for the feedback! about the you ↓ from climbing, you probably got the "inverted controls" event

2021-10-06 03:14

i hate the ice event, but is a nice game

adamcyounis 2021-10-06 05:28

Hey there!

I quite liked the visual presentation of this game. The pixel art was really cute and well animated. I also thought the camera was really well-implemented for the most part. I had a little difficulty understanding what the game wanted from me at first. I really think that the game should explain itself, rather than having the rules explained outside. Once I got going though, I found the challenge to be pretty engaging. Adding the different modifiers was a nice touch, although I felt like they definitely needed to rotate more quickly, as the game definitely struggled to maintain my attention as time went on. More frequent switching of powers and perhaps more strategy / planning elements would have taken this game a bit further.

Overall, I think this was a pretty solid entry. Best of luck with future developments!

I love the art. I also like that each book case has different icon on top of the colour on them. That helps with accessibility. I did get a bug where the event of me getting smaller happened as I am in front of the blacksmith bookcase, then I got stuck inside the platform. Good job on the game!

reronin 2021-10-06 14:08

Beautiful pixel art! Took me a bit to figure out what exactly I was supposed to do. The 1-2-3 controls threw me off a few times at the start. Always got the reverse-controls curse tho, that one's annoying haha. Music is also very fitting!

pink-shard-games 2021-10-06 14:13

Cool game with an amazing art! I loved the event system, because it gave it such a great twist. I specially loved the one which causesd the screen to go dark so that you can only see if there's a candle around. And I think the one that makes you invisible is a bit frustrating. But I had a really good time! The jump was also really smooth. Good job!

xparker 2021-10-06 18:15

Love the design and audio, but I'm not a huge fan of platformers.

easy to understand what you have to do once you get the gang of it. no criticism come to mind.

neowhoru 2021-10-07 19:02

graphics were pretty great :) nice game

namnam 2021-10-07 23:39

Loved it, I really like the take on the theme, the universe is funny and there is a lot of surprise. It was a bit hard and I wish i had more time to explore and discover new maledictions.

minibobbo 2021-10-08 22:05

Really nice art and polish! At first the jump was too floaty and long for me, but after a short while I just embraced it and found that moving around the library was a lot of fun! The unstable curses made for some interesting changes and challenges which greatly helped the rather simplistic gameplay. Very nicely done!

One thing that I found a little awkward was using 1 - 3 to interact with the customers and the shelves. Wouldn't one key work for that? Since you are only interacting with one person at a time maybe spreading them out a little (just a single space between them?) and interacting with everything with a single use key would feel better.

Nice work!

EDIT - After a couple playthroughs I got the shrinking curse. That was fine, but when I went to the next curse (invisibility) I was brute forced repositioned into the floor and couldn't escape. I grabbed a screenshot, but of course, I'm invisible, so it doesn't really show you much  books.png

lucas-viana 2021-10-09 11:31

@minibobbo Thank for the deep feedback. Yes we are aware of the bug and are currently under development for a fix patch! Again, thank you very much!

sofimei 2021-10-13 03:42

Wow, I love the art and vibes of the game! Its a fun location (magic library) with interesting little details in a lot of places. I found the designs for the different book shelves really pretty, and the characters are cute and unique. Couldn’t help but wonder what some of these crazy books were that the readers were borrowing and returning XD some look very sinister. I could easily see this expanded with some more world building and levels that increase in complexity.

gr3yknigh1 2021-10-19 16:43

Great pixel art! Jump is silly in some cases but okay and time is too limited I barely can be in time to deliver item to customer But overall it is very cool game!

kiwi663 2021-10-20 16:30

Wow, fantastic pixel art and music. Well done!
