Arena Run by ping78 2022-10-08T02:07:18Z

This is a great little FPS. I played a few times and managed to get 23 kills on my best run (it's been a while since I played an FPS!). I liked the random weapon switching, and it was fun switching from attacking to running away when you have no gun. I found the recoil on the minigun to be a bit strange with the way it moved down slowly when you stopped shooting; my favourite gun was definitely the shotgun. The enemies also felt a bit bullet-spongy as they took a lot of hits to go down sometimes. Some audio feedback when you get a kill would be nice, as well as a kill counter while you're playing. Great visuals and sound effects though, and I liked the level design and the enemy AI. Nice work!

SQUAARE by Ace17 2022-10-07T23:50:18Z

This is an ambitious game being multiplayer! I managed to get on the leader board with 44 points, but unfortunately the input lag made it quite frustrating to play (it was about 1 sec for me, possibly because I'm in Australia). Some client-side prediction is really needed to make it feel responsive. The reconfiguring maze is an interesting idea, though I only noticed the maze visibly change once during my playthrough, and most of the time it just shook and had no visible change. I like the retro feel of the menus and music, and the 3D graphics are clean although it is quite dark. I wasn't sure what the debug menu was for, but it was intriguing. Overall nice work! EDIT: Thanks for the Linux build :)

10 Second Pizza Delivery by hungryroy 2022-10-09T00:28:06Z

This is a nice little platformer. The second level was the hardest but I managed to get past it and got to the end with 5 bonus stars. The movement mechanics could use some tweaks to improve the game feel (jump buffering, coyote time, ability to jump away from a wall), but it's playable and I like that it introduces new mechanics along the way, has a good number of levels, and a clear ending. The art is simple but it works, and it's cool that it has sound effects and music too. Nice work!

Factory Manager Hero by mstrp 2022-10-08T12:25:55Z

I enjoyed the humour in this. The learning curve is indeed steep; I strongly second Diego's suggestions, they would help a lot. Also I would suggest using capital letters instead of smalls on the boxes. But I loved the manager's comments and it was an interesting style of game with solid visuals. Nice work!

CARAVAN by p-r 2022-10-08T00:22:48Z

This is an interesting concept. The 10 sec timer made it feel very slow, and once the number of demons grew large it became inevitable that they would reach the caravan, but I like the overall idea of placing boulders to block them in. Maybe the player could be given one block to place per demon? The movement of the demons also felt very random and even when they had a clear path it seemed that they would take a long time to reach the caravan. The graphics are simple but clean, and the music is very chill. Nice work!

FatPinball by Ryu 2022-10-04T11:18:17Z

This is a cute little pinball game. I thought I did well by getting a score of 68152 by spamming the paddles, but then as I was filling in the ratings I noticed that I'd left a new game running and all the balls got stuck and it had racked up 1.7M points :). It's a little difficult sometimes to judge where the balls are on the paddles on the sides due to the perspective, but overall it felt very responsive. The brown balls also sometimes don't fit between the paddles which is kind of funny. I'd not heard of Bevy but it looks interesting (I still haven't found a reason to try Rust yet). Good to hear I wasn't the only one that wasted their entire Saturday! (I spent mine learning LMMS). It's impressive that you built this with a new engine. Nice work!

Flying Out Of Time by realryanrogers 2022-10-04T11:35:17Z

The excellent sound effects make this really satisfying to play when you can hit the enemies, and I managed to escape after a couple of playthroughs. Unfortunately the complexity of working out where the enemies are, where you're aiming, and leading the enemy motion, makes it very difficult to target accurately. It's definitely a unique perspective though, and the graphics are solid. Nice work!

Bug Out by wavertron 2022-10-08T01:06:25Z

This is super cool. I really wanted to try it without the lag from the web build, but I'm on Linux and got an error when I tried running from source. It's still fun though; the shooting feels great and I love the little animations and gibs. The graphics are solid, though it does mix different pixel resolutions. The instant death felt a bit too harsh, though it did increase the tension. The grappling hook mostly worked well, but I didn't like that it immediately cancelled when pressing left/right while ascending. The level-changing mechanic works well and I love that it gives you a map. Some music would be nice to give it more atmosphere, but the sound effects are great, especially the death sounds. Great work!

Teck Tronix by Kilian BAPTENDIER 2022-10-04T09:26:05Z

This is a really nicely polished card game. Unfortunately I had some problems working out how to play (disclaimer: I rarely play card games). The 10 second timer didn't give me enough time to read the cards, and it wasn't clear whether I was supposed to be thinking about which cards to play or simply what order to play them in. In the end I found that simply spamming all of the cards was an effective strategy and I beat all the opponents :). A guided tutorial would be useful to introduce the game without immediately dropping you into the 10sec loop. That said, the pixel art is really nice, the controls felt smooth, and the music works well. Nice work!

ADHDroids by snakemuho 2022-10-09T01:36:46Z

This is an interesting resource gathering game. I got up to a green robot, but it became very tedious after that waiting for the other characters' turns (which I didn't need) and then desperately trying to collect grass in 10 secs before waiting again. I also kept getting lost, and had some robots randomly die, so I didn't end up finishing it unfortunately. But it's an interesting concept and I like the art and music. Nice work!

Trick or Retreat 3.10 by Lone_Wolf 2022-10-05T11:13:45Z

This is a great little text game and story. It brings back memories of choose-your-own-adventure books from long ago. I like the music and text effects, and the lock picking minigame was a pleasant surprise. It was fun going back and exploring all of the different text paths; by the end I wished there were a few more or it was a bit longer. I made a point-and-click adventure game recently and it was a lot of fun writing it, I hope this one was for you too. I appreciate that the individual text prompts aren't too long and keep the pace up. Great work!

10 Seconds Til Spawn by CodSalmon 2022-10-05T09:00:04Z

This is a nice little shooter. The difficulty curve felt just right; I failed by 24 seconds on my first run and then finished it on my second. It wasn't clear what impact the 10 second lifespan had except for effectively "teleporting" you back to the base; I guess it might be possible to take advantage of that, but I didn't really think about it while playing. I misclicked on the upgrade menu multiple times when it popped up without warning, but the upgrades themselves were interesting and felt well balanced. I thought it was interesting that the aim has some spray to it, reducing accuracy at long range. I liked the music and the simple pixel art style too. Nice work!

What is that sound? (Repeating every 10th second) by airwaffle 2022-10-08T05:31:25Z

This is a neat little text game. I played through twice and experimented with what I typed on the second run. It seems to handle the "correct" inputs quite well, but I didn't find much outside of the main story path and it seems to have just one ending and ignores your inputs at the end (I know that natural language parsing is very hard, I was just interested to see what it could do). The story is intriguing though, and I like the visuals and the sound effects. Nice work!

J-Menuing by nyxkn 2022-10-05T09:35:02Z

This is an interesting game. I managed to get to stage 10, but got stomped after that. At first I thought the kill order and attack types were random and you had to work them out through trial and error; I didn't consider that there were clues to them until I read the help page. The controls felt good, though I didn't understand why the order of attacks in the menu kept changing. The music is great and the visuals are clean. Nice work!

Chrono Extractors by tengusheath 2022-10-04T10:38:18Z

I really like the style of this and it's very well made. I did find it difficult to survive and couldn't see any way to get past ~20 buildings and reach the score in the trailer, even after I had many attempts (is the trailer's score actually attainable?). The 10 second timers made it feel a little slow at times, but it's fun once you get going (and before you get swamped). I was thinking it might be nice to have a kind of wall unit that you can use to funnel the enemies through a choke-point, adding to the strategy a bit. The pixel art is very nice and I love the sounds the buildings make when you place them. Good controls and UI too. Great work!

Disco Roller by owca 2022-10-04T10:59:58Z

This has an excellent vibe! The gradual increase in difficulty felt good and I had one lucky run where I got 1156 points. The movement was very responsive, but I think the jumping could use a bit of coyote time to avoid frustration when you press it just slightly too late and fall in a hole. I agree with the other commenter about the health mechanic being unclear, but it was nice to have some leeway when touching the wrong colors at least. The jumping sound was a bit scuffed for me, but the music and graphics are excellent. Great work!

The World Ends Ten Times by SomeCodingGuy 2022-10-08T00:10:05Z

This is a nice little platformer. I didn't fully understand what was happening between generations, but I managed to get to the end a few times and got a score over 3000. Not being able to see the ground when you bounce high into the air was a bit frustrating and made it very luck-based. The controls were pretty good though; it just needs a bit of coyote time to improve the feel. The graphics mix a few different styles, but I like the robot and the level tiles, especially the springboard animation. Nice work!

Michael Finnegan Begins Again by madeofst 2022-10-05T09:21:45Z

This is a great little puzzle game. The level design is excellent and really makes the theme work. I found the visuals a little difficult to interpret at first (I wasn't sure what the shoes or the switches were), but once I worked it out it was a fun process to solve the puzzle. The movement with the shoes was a little difficult to control, but it also felt like you were really running, which was nice. The bass in the music scuffed out a bit for me, but it still has a great vibe to it. The story is funny too :). Nice work!

Chinese restaurant kitchen by LinkTail 2022-10-05T11:45:42Z

This is a funny little game. I thought the ignition sound was hilarious, it sounds like a jet engine :). It was difficult to work out how to play, but eventually I got it and earned 1700 money. It definitely needs to give some feedback to the player on what to do and what can be clicked on etc. The controls also felt quite unresponsive and it seemed that I had to spam clicks to make it work. But it's a fun little idea and the sound effects are great. Nice work!

Prism Protector by Shiiro 10psi 2022-10-08T05:11:13Z

This is an interesting puzzle game. I'm not completely sure I understood it, but I got a score of 5440 on my best attempt. The fact that you can only move pieces if they will form a group feels very limiting because all I could do was look for ways to make groups, rather than thinking about a higher strategy based on the colors or positions of the lasers. Maybe there is a strategy that I missed. In any case it's very unique and fleshed out, and it has a good vibe to it. Nice work!

Tower Boy by Chuckiee 2022-10-08T01:48:30Z

This is a nice concept. I like the 3-phase gameplay, though it is a bit slow when there is nothing to buy and you don't want to move but you still have to wait 20 secs. I managed to survive until around level 4 a couple of times and then got swarmed. The level progression/coins feels a bit too slow too, I think giving the player more coins to spend would make it more fun. I also didn't feel the need to move anywhere but the center of the screen, not sure if there's a better strategy. I like the art and music aesthetic and the controls worked well. Nice work!

Short-Lived Survival by SoshJam 2022-10-05T10:30:46Z

This is a fantastic game. It took me a while to work it out because at first I was confused by the inventory/upgrades/crafting and what the consequences of death were, but once I understood everything it was really fun. I managed to get to the amethyst sword but had to stop there because I'd already played for ages :). It does become quite grindy and a bit tedious at that point, as simply trying to reach the material you need often leaves you with only 1-2 seconds after getting past all of the stuff in the way. Really great design though and lots of progression to play through and interesting new depths to reach. The graphics and music are solid, and the controls worked well mostly, though I found the inventory a bit frustrating at times (a quick way to pull out stars and keys would be handy), and not having proper fullscreen made it harder to see and caused a lot of misclicks. I definitely enjoyed playing though. Great work!

Countdown by rowen 2022-10-09T00:58:14Z

This is a really interesting puzzle game. I struggled at first but eventually got it after 13 tries. The red herrings (I assume, unless I just didn't understand them; e.g., the batteries with numbers, and the ticks and crosses) really threw me off. UPDATE: I just tried it again and now there are new puzzles? Not sure how that works. Some of the wire colors clues were pretty difficult too. The overall puzzle design is great though, especially the way it changes slightly each time. It's a very interesting way to use the theme too, and solid graphics. Nice work!

Drift Warrior by David Forrester 2022-10-05T11:29:51Z

This is super cool. I managed to get a few treasures; it's very difficult, but the gameplay feels good. Being able to see the trajectories is great, and the enemies provide a fun way to fill the downtime. I think it would be nice if there were multiple treasures at once and you could choose which one to go to. Some sound would also obviously be nice. But I definitely enjoyed playing. Nice work!

10HEAD by zimonitrome 2022-10-03T09:02:00Z

What a great little tetris-like! It took me a bit to get used to it, but eventually I got on a roll and got a score of 2950. The pink and red are very difficult to distinguish, and I had a block get stuck inside another block once, but overall the controls felt pretty good and I love the way they jiggle when they push on each other. I found that I didn't really use the grab mechanic, but maybe there's a strategy I missed. I also noticed that you can remove 4 blocks instead of 5 if you put them in a square; not sure if that's intentional or not. Some sound effects would be nice to round it out, but I liked the music and the graphics are cute. Nice work!
