Brilliant idea, could have done with more animation, or just more graphics going on really. But a good idea, you should follow up and continue to develop.
Foon → Ludum Dare Explorer → LD51 → Chinese restaurant kitchen

The idea is original and interesting. Found it too hard to play, since I would have had to memorize the intro texts, which I didn't. :sweat_smile:
Not that fun to play. Wish you would have simplified everything. "Want spices? Click on spices. Want to put broccoli in the pan? Click on broccoli then click on pan." Something in this way.
Good idea but the execution is a little off, the instructions were hard to understand and it took me a good few failed attempts to understand what was going on. Improving the visuals/adding animations would make the game much clearer and easier to play. Solid foundations and I like the authentic stove audio.
Instruction unclear. Kitchen is burnt XD
I think I see where this is going. The stove turning on sound scared me every time. I like the idea but it could use some simplification on the instructions. I burned the kitchen down a few times.
@thegamearchitect Thanks for playing, I'm considering finishing it.
@grilladroid You're right :joy:, I didn't notice this because I played it lots of times.
@luka-roli Got it. :wink:
@dollcoded Thank you, I'll notice it next time.
@lustdante :joy:
@lady That sound scared me at first, but then it becomes a part of this game. :joy: Thanks for playing.
Interesting theme and presenting! I enjoy the process. And have more humorous animations/ sounds to make it more stand out.
I played the html version on the Ludum Dare site, and couldn't really get it to work. Sometimes something would appear in the wok, but it wasn't consistently working. I tried a few times and just ended up burning down the kitchen. I like the idea of using the "10 seconds" theme to force you to work quickly, I just couldn't do it.
This is a funny little game. I thought the ignition sound was hilarious, it sounds like a jet engine :). It was difficult to work out how to play, but eventually I got it and earned 1700 money. It definitely needs to give some feedback to the player on what to do and what can be clicked on etc. The controls also felt quite unresponsive and it seemed that I had to spam clicks to make it work. But it's a fun little idea and the sound effects are great. Nice work!
Really had a hard time telling what I was supposed to be doing. I think as a player I need more feedback from the game. Kitchen definitely burned pretty good though.
No matter what I do I always burn down the kitchen, just like in real life.
Fun idea. Some more feedback in the game would be nice, a little animation would go a long way.
This was a bit weird - the first time it seemed to react to clicking oil, spices and other... but the second time around nothing happened.... well except for burning down the kitchen :cookie:
Simple but interesting
Nice game. Took me a few goes to work out the required sequence. The controls were a bit fiddly. Where you had to click was sometimes quite specific and not always clear/intuitive.
Nice idea. The info dump at the start was a bit challenging, might have wanted to ease the player into it. Probably needed more animation or other visual feedback, as I had to retry a few times because I had no idea what was going on. That sound at the start is surprisingly loud.
I only managed to earn 50 money. I had multiple attempts, but always ended in fire. This game could use some polishment and easier constructions. Also the sound was way too loud.
Was very challenging to put all the ingredients together in time. The tutorial did a good job of explaining the order of the steps I had to execute but I still had trouble keeping the place from burning down.
I like the idea of this game. However, like many others pointed out, the instructions was too hard to follow. Next time I recommend incorporate a tutorial where you guide the player through the gameplay instead of using pure text.
Interesting idea, but seems a bit too tricky. Selecting ingredients also seemed a bit laggy. Great job for a jam game though!
