I like the art style. I played it for a while and I feel that the research costs are too high. I survived over 500 years and I wasn't able to buy most of them (maybe I did something wrong).

One UI/UX tip from me: Sliders would work better than input fields. Adjusting one value would proportionally change all the others.

One more thing - how did you make this starry skybox? I like it and I was wondering if there is a tool or generator for that.

@Owca for the skybox I created it in Paint.net. I made a clouds texture, edited the Contrast/saturation down. Then changed the grey to a slight blue. After that Used a t shaped template for the image and feathered the edges of the image to black so there was no visible seam. Then I added a bit of noise for the stars.

There is a nice generator you can use. I have used it in the past but since this was a compo. I decided to create my own skybox using this generator as a reference. https://tools.wwwtyro.net/space-3d/index.html This will give you unlimited star skyboxes.

When I was putting together the research it was nearing the end of time so I just threw some small-larger values in to make you have a goal all the way through. Never tested if you could actually get all of them.

Thank you for the tip of the UI sliders would have worked much better. Did not even think about using sliders there.

Woosh this is a hard one, I had a really hard time not loosing my entire population, I think it needs a few tweaks in terms of balancing. The idea is really cool, I think it can be expanded further. The artstyle is really good too!! Nice job!

This is a really well made end of the world simulator. The 3D planets are delightful with the swirling clouds and points of light on the night-time side of the earth and the moon spinning round. The effect of the sun getting ever closer until it looms massively in the sky is great :D

This project shows a lot of promise and I hope you continue to add to it. I only managed to get half of the tech tree done before the earth was destroyed and it would be cool if there was a hidden tech to either save or escape the planet.

Again very cool compo entry!
