I just love it! :D
That art-style and sound combination is very cute, I love it. And controls seemed alright to me, so maybe you shouldn't be so harsh on yourself
Also, really love the fact that the "good ending" isn't that good for the family
Nice, and surprisingly high for me in the mood category, such an oppressive atmosphere with the sacrifices taken for granted and the wind outside 😦 Got all three endings!
I like the paper cutout graphics, and the shadows are a really nice touch. Mouth sounds are simple but fun and fit that homemade aesthetic.
Was quite difficult on the first playthrough (which got me the "everyone dies" ending) but I learnt the patterns of the enemies (or bosses, I guess I should say) and got good enough that I had to intentionally lose an ant to get the "some die" ending after first getting the "nobody dies" ending.
The slippery controls were good for the cow but quite annoying for the bushes so maybe it should've been more in the middle? 😅
Short but sweet and I think multiple endings were a good tradeoff versus working more on the controls (which were fine). Nice work!
@annie-owl Thanks for the feedback! (I think I was venting my frustration about having spent too much time on the controls that ought to have been pretty simple and still didn't work like I wanted.)
@ava-skoog What do you mean, isn't taking your siblings life for granted a universally high mood thing  Very glad you got through to all endings.
I'd so much love to play back your games, but I think my laziness at not getting out my old wacom and instead drawing everything with the mouse made my wrists really sad. And they still hurt :crying_cat_face: so I think I have to wait some more days before I can try out everyone's the games.
@local-minimum: Oof, hope your wrists feel better soon! Same here, actually. Mine were hurting already before LD. Played three games on the day I played yours, and I too concluded that I really have to rest them for a few days now ðŸ˜
Oh god the blueberries scared the hell out of me lol. Clever twists when coming up to every minigame. I had no idea what to expect after doing the first one.
One of the things that surprised me the most was the shadows actually! While I was harvesting eggs I couldn't help but stare at the back wall a bunch.
I suspect I won't see another game where you're making pancakes as ants so hey, bonus points for being unique!
Really good game. I enjoyed all of the boss fights and I think they were all varied enough to keep the game fun and unpredictable. The story was nice and I was surprised the first time I died that the game just continued with less characters. Making a branching story game in a weekend is a big task and you did a great job. I ended up killing 3 of the family but I was scared for a bit that the berries would wipe me out because it took me a while to figure out how to harvest them. Overall I thought the game had a lot of personality and it was a lot of fun playing through it.
Nice game, fun to play. i managed to get 2 endings. The controls were fine, a bit slippery but fine. I wasnt ready for this level of voice acting x)
Great entry
It's essential Shadow of the Colossus. I cannot see any difference. Both masterpieces!
But honestly, I really enjoyed the variety of challenges in each area. I think taking on multiple enemy types like that in a jam is awesome work.
This is an absolute gem! Especially the character sound effects and the silly banter, I played the game multiple times just to experience it all. Absolutely delightful.
The controls were somewhat uncomfortable - The movement was more slippery than I would have liked, and the hitboxes with the enemies (especially in the last two levels) didn't feel so clear.
I very much enjoyed playing the game! Thanks!
The paper cutout art style is very charming, along with the audio - it put me in a certain mindset the rest of the game absolutely flipped on it's head. Wasn't expecting it to be so.. surreal? Half the family has perished but the pancakes are glorious. I also echo what some other people have said, the controls were kinda slippery, but honestly I didn't mind too much. Also kudos for making unique dialogue based on how many people were left, that's a really nice touch.
I liked the paper drawing graphics haha. The gameplay is quite challenging and a little tricky at times (the berry picking phase was really tricky). The sound is fun. Overall it was a creative project. Good work!
This game has a super cool vibe to it. The graphics, sound and setting all give that sort of strangely creepy atmosphere and I love it. The controls weren't perfect but I think considering the rest of they definitely don't ruin it. I had a bit of a bug in the berry section on my first time where I was standing on the bush and suddenly got flung and died instantly but on my other attempts it was fine. Overall it's a neat combination of simple but fun minigames packaged up into a cute little story game. Well done!
Really enjoyed playing. We can all agree berries make the pancakes. Good narrative. Controls were a little tricky but nice that you had a few lives to get used to it
@peachtreeoath glad you liked the shadows, I really wanted them in, but it was hard to get the lighting to agree at all and on first exports things got really crazy and looked completely different than when in the editor so I was quite surprised the game seems to be working for everyone.
@starboihooch yeah the berries are kind of evil.
@boaz4 glad you liked it and played through to see all endings! I totally agree that the hit-boxes could have been much better, but doing the game in 3D with basically sprites on quads in unity I was a bit lazy and just added a bunch of box and sphere colliders to somewhat cover the areas that I though most natural... but thinking on it I should probably have shrunk them all a bit to give some more tolerance.
@sciman101 I was really happy I figured out a simple system for the game to react when members die, but I didn't make it smart enough that I could have it dynamic transitioning between objectives so the two oldest and the youngest got most of the dialogue... but since it was quite a short game, it perhaps wasn't enough to elaborate everyone's different personality.
@pegasys Glad you liked the game. Perhaps the bug you felt was a combination of that the family member doesn't heal up between levels and that if you stand on or right next to a bush when it shrugs (or rattles) then it does damage and flings you away?
And to everyone else, thanks a lot for all the great feedback
Most underlooked game on this jam so far. It have story and boss fights and neat graphics and cool sound. First 5 stars in humor btw.
I can't say it's `fun`, but it's certainly a big `mood`.
These animals are the stuff of nightmares. Very creative! I would have loved the controls to not be momentum-based, but I guess losing a few ants to inertia is part of the intent. Not bad!
I think the graphics really suit this game! The animals were interesting and their actions were unexpected. Overall, it was somewhat frustrating due to the controls. Everything felt like it was just slightly off, which made avoiding dangers a struggle. The egg gathering in particular. It seemed like every time the bar had just about been filled, the chicken monster ducked down and I took damage. I did really like the twist with berry gathering at the end, and it got a verbal "WTF" out of me lol. I think the game was funny, and the characters were relatable.
The concept of this game is truly innovative and it's clear that the developers put a lot of thought into it. The unique idea behind the game is what caught my attention, and it was great to see something fresh and original. The gameplay could use some improvement and the controls were a bit clunky, but the concept more than makes up for it. With some fine-tuning and further development, this game has the potential to be a great game!.
Oh man, these sound effect are gorgeous  Also the graphics style is super cool and very unique, this game really got charm. Also liked the death dialogs: Now its your turn! Unfortunately it seemed like the berrys were buggy by me, wasn|t able to harvest them for a while (later it worked but then it was too late) But still fantastic entry!
What a glorious game! I love the graphics and sound design, it definitely stands out with its unique identity. I had mostly no trouble adjusting to the controls but I lost lots of ants to the bird and bushes until I learned their pattern. All in all, a short & sweet experience!
I think this was fun AND a big mood! I died a few times, and just about died laughing from the dialogue from the remaining family members. The paper cutout style was really great too!
I dunno why but I am stuck at this screen, can't skip it with any key. I probably missing some point but couldn't figure out what. Can you help me? I would like to try your game :(

@hayricakir that's odd, maybe I missed some state there. How many fights in are you? Perhaps it works well if you restart it? (Though I understand that is a bit annoying)
I tried different browsers but still no luck unfortunately :( I could not pass this first screen
@hayricakir That's really weird because, mild spoiler, you should have more ants at home there in the beginning... When I try and start it on Firefox it starts up nicely and I get past the first scene without a problem... you don't happen get any console errors?
I get an error when I try to skip the last conversation:

@hayricakir thanks, then at least I know where to look should I find the motivation to add the last planned boss-fight and get the controllers like I would have wanted them. But for the few hours left I don't think I'll be able to find a fix. My only suggestion then would be to clear cache and see if that helps or play in a private tab or something like that.
Love the graphic style, sounds and the fact that failure "updates" the story, pretty buggy physics make the gameplay less enjoyable but in the end nice funny experience.
So after unsuccessful attempts to play on browser, I downloaded the source code and played inside the Unity :D Everything is so good; sound effects (especially chicken boss), dialogues, visuals, gameplay elements and bosses... I loved the game, even tho I lost 2 family members :( It is a very solid entry, good job!
@hayricakir thanks for going through so many trials to be able to play the game!
Art style has a lot of charm. Very interesting and solid entry.
