Had some good fun, done it in 2m50 ! Let's go for the speedruns guys ! Good concept and graphics, loving the contrast between the death mood and the nice and cute atmosphere, really making it cozy of some sort. Only little point for me would that some jumps were a bit too pixel perfect for me, maybe the metrics of the jump are a bit too tied to the grid. But otherwise a solid entry, keep it up guys

osh-studio 2022-10-03 12:27

Press space to die haha, love that. Art was great alongside the vibe, really loved the parallax background and the simple game mechanic done well. Very polished and a great use of the theme! Love me a good platformer too :)

thatanonoword 2022-10-03 12:28

This game is super cool! Using death as a resource is an interesting mechanic, and it balances dying for bounces and keeping deaths minimal. Ten seconds is quite a long timer, since the area of platforming between never reached 10 seconds for me. Anyways, great game!

kromeboy 2022-10-03 12:30

It took me a while to figure out the main mechanic but its a fun game. Completed and enjoyed

harry-alissavakis 2022-10-03 12:32

Finished in 3'! Fun little game, very nice work on the animations and the overall level design, I felt that a lot of work went into it working properly!

mikoziq 2022-10-03 12:39

Okay! I've managed to beat the game in around 3:40 (minutes ofc haha)

Pros:

- I adore the color scheme used, very pleasant to the eye - Good level design with a nice mechanic of jumping - Also liked diffent tiles for levels (dungeon vs forest) - Nice transitions between puzzles - The chivarly-style music fits this game in a way I was not expecting it - The ending caught me by surprise  :musical_note:

Cons:

- Wish there was more variety of puzzles except jump / spikes - Speaking of spikes, I found their trigger points to be a touch too sensitive, but It may just be me - I had to get a brief idea of understanding every 10 seconds here, so I kinda consider putting it there

#### A great job nonetheless and congrats on the first Jam Game! :muscle:

_ I strive to leave a detailed feedback which takes time... if you liked it, please consider giving a feedback back  _

Really fun game! It made me want to play it again to make a new record. Love the nice and cute graphics. Great job!

shiny-elster 2022-10-03 14:36

Cute game and fun mechanics! Love the idea that you have to die to get further

olddog 2022-10-03 15:13

game idea is so nice ,and music and graphic is so good, but jump feeling are strength, some time I can jump hight enough, but some times I cant,,,,,ps I stuck in the second spawner for a long time ,and can jump enough hight

confusedsoph 2022-10-03 15:19

I love the idea of generational growth you’ve got here. It’s an amazing game concept and well executed. Props to you.

dahut 2022-10-03 15:30

@olddog Hi, thanks for the comment ! Here's a hint to get unstuck : jumping on your _slime's_ corpses makes you jump higher :)

denvil 2022-10-03 17:28

Nice game. This review was made on top of slime corpses :). Quite good controls and graphics were good. Maybe add some kind of sound cue how much time you have left (the long section without any safe spots)

waffleworksgames 2022-10-03 19:28

Cute game and in my opinion the perfect length for a jam game! I love the mechanic of using your own corpses to jump higher, and the audio/visuals were really good as well. I see some speedrunning potential with this idea! I managed to get 1:05 on my 3rd attempt.

slush 2022-10-03 19:36

Played it to the end, super fun!

confusedsoph 2022-10-03 19:44

Best parts: The color scheme. Props to y'all for making it both gorgeous and colorblind friendly BTW. Realizing I could use my corpse to block the spikes. No idea if that's intentional, but PLEASE keep it.

confusedsoph 2022-10-03 19:49

Oh my god the end screen is adorable.

dahut 2022-10-03 20:15

@confusedsoph Yes, blocking the spikes with your corpses is absolutely intentional  !

Thank you very much for your comments !

savorytoast 2022-10-03 20:34

Completed it in 1m22s! Very crisp graphics. Ending was really unexpected, in a good way!

mcovert 2022-10-03 20:47

That slime's adorable! Solid entry, felt polished. Only real complaint was there was a section in the middle of 3-4 spawners that felt like it didn't require me to do anything except run right and occasionally jump, that I made with like... ~6 seconds left on the timer each time? Felt out of place with the rest of the puzzles around them.

flanne 2022-10-04 00:27

Nice art, and fairly polished. Cool animation at the end

lisyarus 2022-10-04 08:24

A really interesting & unique take on the theme, loved it! Sometimes it's not clear whether you're standing on the corpse or not, i.e. whether you'll get the jumping boost, - maybe a visual indicator would help. The music felt just a little bit off, I'd expect it to feature in some fantasy-themed game and not a slime game, but maybe it's just me. Anyways, great job!

My favorite entry so far! Great job and love the outro! If you check my (our) game from LD47, you can see some minor similarities.

Love this mechanic, art, music, and the theme fits perfectly. Well done!!

probe2 2022-10-04 12:48

Nice! I love the final.

gonzalol 2022-10-04 14:03

I don't know how to feel about the deaths of all those slimes. Pretty fun to play, congrats!

lex 2022-10-04 14:35

Excellent mood! Level design was great too, I loved it. Congrats!

thiefaine 2022-10-04 17:46

Super mechanic, the use of the corpses is cool, I'd have loved to have more of it !! :D the gameplay is neat & the final animation !!! GG everyone

asbjorn 2022-10-04 20:32

First try completion: 21 corpses in 3m57s

The corpse jump idea is fun, and the art is great. I like it :D

bakemonomori 2022-10-04 23:23

Oh my, the animations are soooo smooth, the colors are adorable, the palette is awesome and the game is very very fun! Finished in under 3 minutes and I have to stop myself to try beating my record!! Congratulations!

roroto-sic 2022-10-05 13:09

very fun to play ! the gameplay is good ! art/ sound are wonderfull, and the ending is amazing ! Capture d’écran 2022-10-05 150841.png

chingle 2022-10-05 15:34

Great idea and executed very well, I like the corpse mechanic and I think given more time you could do a lot with it. Definitely one of my favorite games this jam, wish this can become a full-fledged game someday

fabula-rasa 2022-10-05 15:34

Was I... kidnapped by aliens at the end ?

Very fun game. I loved the slime animation and the colors are great - a pleasure to look at. I left quite the trail of corpses at the very start, as the first thing I did was trying to jump a lot (with Space). And after accumulating quite a 'mound', I gazed to the left and saw the keybindings

Great work on the game. I have zero complaints!

goosegarden 2022-10-05 18:51

The concept is very original and poetic. Very good execution, graphics and music. Well done.

yword 2022-10-06 07:33

I just completed this game! Loved the ending! Really unique idea, with smooth control and nice mood too!

cinar 2022-10-06 15:12

webgl not aviable

spyranteros 2022-10-06 18:03

What a great game! Loved everything. I can see some speed running potential, it's very addictive

dahut 2022-10-06 18:31

@cinar Weird, the export was made in Godot with GLES2 specifically so it would use WebGL 1.0 (compatible with the most browsers). Did you have an error in particular ?

diego-escalante 2022-10-06 23:36

Cool concept! I had fun playing through it. I like how you all managed to work with the theme in such a way that it wasn't just about waiting for the time to just expire, since your previous slimes affect your current slime. There was a sense or permanence to it. The art style was also very lovely. I also appreciated how spikes were also affected by previous slimes. It would be interesting to see how this idea could be expanded on with previous slimes affecting a whole multitude of other things.

Nice work on this game!

This game is so well made! The music and the graphics, including the animations, are all perfect. It's amazing you've made the map so complete. The effect of falling leaves is amazing! The level design and the concept are very interesting as well. The usage of corpses are definitely somehing new, which brings a lot of potential in the game play. Congrats!
