It didnt work in my browser. I use Chrome on macOS.

It's quite hard to extinguishes trees. Maybe it could have help if it was possible to look down or up. The concept is cool, and I like the drawing.

@wujood I can reproduce that problem with Chromium on Linux. Looks like I can't solve the HTML5 build quickly so I take it down again for now. Sorry!

graphics are cool but i don't understand what is the main goal

Pretty fun! I loved the main menu. It really set the stage very nicely, and I found the arrows pointing to trees and satellites to be a nice touch.

I found the gameplay to be very boring, the rest was good. I would recommend to change it so that the character shoots where the player's mouse is, that way it allows for extinguishing while moving, which would add a little bit of skill and make it more engaging.

Mac version executed. Though with some graphic glitches (sometimes all the objects would disappear from part of the screen) The gameplay process if fun, but the extinguisher hitbox is sometimes off (spraying on the fires directly to no effect) The playing space is... big. So no matter how you play there will be unattended trees burning in other places. Having visibility of the whole field and a bit of a forewarnign where the sattelites are about to hit could have made the game more... strategic. Currently the only reason to move is if you lost all the trees in the area and nothing to protect here.

* good job completing a game in 72 hours * it wasn't clear what the end goal was / score was.. * it would help to have some instructions in game and a clear goal.

Hello, Godot developer!

Tried your game, found it an interesting idea!

Some notes: - world seemed huge, long travel distances, didn't know really know if it was all forest or if I'd find population centers. - trees a bit hard to extinguish; more directional control/spraying would have been nice and intuitive. - pretty cool menu - I saved a lot of people, but I never saw anyone. Thousands saved for a few trees seems like a bit of mathematical rounding error. ;) - Arrows were helpful, wouldn't have had a clue where to go otherwise. - Arrow keys were a bit cumbersome, but I discovered some controller support, so that was a big help!

Conceptually, a great idea. I might have limited the world size and really nailed the spraying mechanic. Some signs of these other lives might have been nice (cars along the road, smashed houses, random animals grazing (then running when they're too close to fire)--stuff like that. So happy to see Godot games--thanks for sharing yours with me. I hope you continue to work on this. Have a great jam! :)

Liked the game, love to see more Godot entries in the jam, hehe. Almost saved 40K lives in a first run, this make me feel stronger for the rest of the day, thanks!

It feels strangely uplifting to play a game that tells you that you saved thousands of lives after you perish. I didn't quite feel the sense of urgency in putting out fires as I expected, though, but I'm not entirely sure how one would fix that. All I can say is that I tried a run where I let everything burn, and apparently still saved almost 20,000 people. Aside from that, I enjoyed looking at the hand-drawn style of the art in this game.

Finally, it would be a good idea to have some form of instructions somewhere. Ideally within the game itself, but at least somewhere on this page at the minimum.

33.6 kilostrangers were saved. However, the game gave me a depressing feeling of not being able to save all the trees around, whereever I ran it was close to pointless because the fire is spreading way fast in the forest. But, you know, this is a good thing about the game. Thank you for the experience. =)

As for the technical questions, the game is pretty solid. I didn't notice any bug or misbehaviour. Sound would be nice, and there always is a room for polish. =)

I was confused about the story. What was all that debris falling from the sky and starting fires? I liked the art and animation quite a bit, but I agree with other commenters that the field is really big. It was frustrating not to be able to get to the fires before the trees were lost.

Neat game. I included it in my compilation video series of the Ludum Dare 42 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :) https://youtu.be/sgI7Z7NA6tk
