congrats on finishing LD :)

I liked the simple graphics in this one but it was a bit difficult to understand the hitbox of the player.

It was also a bit difficult to find the different stabilisers since the map was pretty big.

I really like the music and sound effects! The audio and the dark forest together create a nice mood. Maybe you could fade-out the music at the end of the track, so the looping gets a bit smoother?

The levels/gameplay is quite nice and challenging. I succeded in the first couple levels, but then failed multiple times on one of the harder ones and gave up.

dodidouda 2022-04-05 10:14

The mood was nice and unique! good job!

lantto 2022-04-05 11:21

Very unique style. The mood and graphics remind me of Inscryption, in a good way. Regarding finding stabilisers you can use echolocate (Q) for them to send sonars. Will definitely play more!

I loved this game so much, amazing job. I loved everything about it. The music with the dialog were just spot on. Gave me undertale vibes. Keep it up & I hope you're doing ok!

A super unique game. Really enjoyed this one. I was a little confused as to what to do at the start, but the game soon taught me. Awesome LD entry :raised_hands:

Excellent music, ambience, and dialogue!

amkingtrp 2022-04-06 18:06

Really enjoyed this one. Great graphical style, with dynamic music and quite compelling gameplay. Is it actually possible to beat the bullet hell at the end?

tygrak 2022-04-07 16:49

@amkingtrp yes and no :)

yellowkamel 2022-04-07 18:48

I really loved this. It has a very unique handwriting, that screams that it could have only been made by one specific person, that person being you. Really unique experience!

nardandas 2022-04-07 22:39

Absolutely great game. Got 1:11 on the eschaton! I really really enjoyed the wild atmosphere!

guillem-serra 2022-04-09 07:40

I loved the characters sprites, it's like an evolution of Space Invaders :) The atmosphere you created is pretty unique.

milq 2022-04-09 18:54

I love your art and how you make the games! You have a unique style and this one fulfills it along with the rest! The game is interesting and has me hooked in that mood. A great game, awesome, really!

this was a special experience for me: the characters in this game have already fully accepted the apocalypse. this makes everything so strangely relaxing. i was also surprised that you have the choice to end the game immediately and not delay the inevitable any further. at the same time, you get the option to just stay in the void forever, which would mean not playing the game at all. The calm graphics and the fantastic soundtrack finish the whole thing off perfectly. this was surely one of the most creative games i've come across this jam so far!

caudatecoder 2022-04-10 09:09

Unexpectedly great experience!

The characters are charming, each with their own personality. The theme explored very well with a lot of thought-provoking dialogue. Visuals are simple but pleasing. Music is just great

Gameplay wise: really great job on the difficulty progression with gradual escalation to face the inevitable. Well done!

Thanks for coming to my stream! Here's a recording in case you'd like to refer to it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WudvDztkwdg

Great game, really enjoyed it! Kinda gave me some undertale vibes with the stabilizer minigame sort of being similar to the combat minigame from there. Loved all the worldbuilding and characters you managed to fit into a small game like this! And the music matches the mood of the game so well, tremendous work!

extar 2022-04-10 18:12

I love the visual style of this and the mixture of sprites and voxel graphics, really unique. The gameplay was pretty simple but was fun. I think the difficulty of the stabiliser battles could be increased without harming things though I understand how it's always safer to make a jam game 'too easy' rather than 'too hard'. I loved the fact that each of the strange characters you meet have their own personalities. :)

Very cool came!

I love the (almost) black and white with voxel and pixel, it works well and is a superb compo idea for efficiency. The cryptic mood is great, the gameplay is clear and simple, and the dialogs help a lot to understand the rules and set the mood. Some moving distance between PoI were a bit long, it was cool to have a higher moving speed but still.

Thanks for the game and great job!

Very interesting, you caught me off guard with the design. After the first battle I thought it would be rote and repetitive, but in the following battles you quickly showed that there was in fact, going to be a lot of intention in the stage/battle design. Some of the patterns I saw in the game were quite clever and fun to navigate through.

The bullet hell dodging wasn't the only cool thing. You clearly put a lot of effort into the worldbuilding and it shows. There's a pretty clear line between the peaceful running around and the intense battles so it's interesting to jump between that a lot.

Like others said, some of the extra running around hurt, though it turns out I ran around way more than I should've only because it took me a little bit to figure out how the echolocation worked. Probably wouldn't have been as bad if I picked up on that earlier.

Definitely a very impressive effort for a compo game, I doubt I could pull something like that off that fast. Great job :)

diego-escalante 2022-04-14 05:11

This really awesome! I super enjoyed it. It almost felt like 3D Undertale, especially with the characters and all the dodging. The visuals are simple but they really work. Additionally, the sounds really add to the mood. Especially when the Eschaton is arriving and everything is all purple. The way the calm music blends with the high-action music is also top notch too! The story felt deep and meaningful. Both existential and peaceful somehow.

I almost wish _I_ was the one who made this game! You should be really proud of this one!

lmb 2022-04-14 23:12

When I started playing, first thing I thought was "this game will get my _Needless Use of 3D Award_", but quickly I felt like the graphics worked quite well, so no award for you :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: Maybe only significant problem graphics-wise is (as someone already said), it's a bit hard to see the hitbox. Otherwise, the visuals are very nice, simple and atmospheric. Loved the Space Invaders-like characters! :space_invader:

Audio is gorgeous, writing is cool, the "echolocation" feature was quite handy and even the bullet hell mechanics were nice enough for me (not a fan of the genre).

All-in-all, a very solid compo game, certainly one of the top I have played this far on LD50. Kudos!

fifut 2022-04-16 13:26

When I started playing, I was not really exited. But with LD game : never stay on your first feeling. Once again it's true. Very nice game! The music is relaxing. The game is a floating experience.

sibi 2022-04-16 13:42

Unique art style and a banger of a soundtrack! The ingame tutorialization was just perfect and the world truly added to the feeling of inevitability.

nyxkn 2022-04-19 12:31

What a brilliant entry! Incredibly immersive. A really really good interpretation of the theme. Bullet hell gameplay was simple but quite fun. I really liked the strong emphasis on how pointless it all was, even how you could refuse to delay the inevitable! Loved the story and characters. Beautiful experience really.

My only nitpick is that dialog scrolling was very slow. I've made this mistake in the past as well, and even though it might seem a good fit for the mood, my conclusion is that it's never a good idea to annoy your readers with inescapable slowness and limitation. A little too fast is always better than a little too slow.

Either way, solid 5/5 entry. Great job!

morricore 2022-04-21 19:02

Impressive blend of visual style and sound, with simplistic gameplay. Hoped for secret ending, but I guess there is only one secret edning - closing game before final boss.
