Killer vibe with the robotic countdown, presidential text feed, and really solid graphics for the main display and HUD overlay. I found it quite challenging, so the best I could do was about 30% evacuated and a lot of upgrades unused. Wouldn't mind a few pointers, actually. I'd like to give it another go and try for the win. If I can't get my Kirby megaton punch style asteroid-splitting action on, I at least need to evacuate everybody. Super fun and really well done!

@bucketh3ad thanks for the feedback! It's not tutorialized well, but if you successfully hit the asteroid or launch an evac shuttle you get $50. First focus on buying the second gun, and then increasing gun reload speed and power. You'll eventually get to a point where you can increase the time to impact faster than it goes down (assuming you don't miss ). From there it's easy to get to 100% evacuated.

@benbennett Thanks for the tip! Beat it no sweat (well, got down to single seconds after I missed two shots in a row but that was on me) Absolutely worth it for my sweet, sweet victory.

Really good effort, found it difficult to time the guns and the line was really faint which didn't help. Probably thematic as I imaging it's pretty tricky to hit an asteroid from Earth. Loved the styling and interface.

Hit the theme pretty well. Though it seems like if you don't miss there is no need to leave earth XD

Noticed a little counter synergy in the upgrades. If you got the full reload time for the guni you didn't need to get more than two as the first one will be ready but the time you finish using the second. So the third and fourth go to waste. I didn't check the shuttles but since they take longer, they are probably fine.

A skip of the intro on repeated tries would have been nice.

The robot telling me there was 1 minute left got old fast but I guess that is on me for shooting it just after the 1 minute mark. Also the a less abrasive message noise would have been nice.

Other than that, I loved it. You really nailed that stressful vibe. Not something that has a lot of replicability for me but nice to experience.

You absolutely nailed the gravity of the situation. The text to speech really contributes to the creepy feel and the graphics are nice. It's a small thing but the erraticness of the time between text messages at the start makes it feel more realistic. However, I did encounter a bug that rendered all the important info invisible, I think it happened when I pressed fire again after I already hit the asteroid, after that the screen was constantly displaying the static and covered all the information such as money, time left and even the bar for the evac shuttle. Other than that one crucial bug, I think this is actually one of my favourite games this jam!

This concept was amazing! I love having a series of mini games where you can buy upgrades to get more chances to play them or make them more effective. It was very hard but in a way that feels fair. Also text messages from "Prez" were pretty great. Text to speech was really smart.

Neat little minigames, It took some practice to start getting the astroid shooting part. Great job on the presentation side, the art-style was cohesive and polished for a 48 hour game.

hehe really enjoy the take on the theme here

I like how we see so many variations on the "control panel games" this LD. I had to lose twice without archieving anything before i got the hang of things.

Very good implementation of the theme id say. And the minimalistic graphics were weirdly fitting. Also i like the ending - seems like a fair reward for saving everyone xD

studio-vykanic 2022-04-06 23:17

Well made! I made it to the end once I got the hang of shooting! Funny ending :).

cool game, the shooting is difficult though

wakobu 2022-04-09 08:33

Brilliant ! The game perfectly fits the theme. It is fun and stressful when you don't have many upgrades ^^

Congrats

I like it! I just wish there were a bit more time in order to give me more of a false sense of security =) I like the Text-to-Speech and pixelly graphics. It all works together really well. Nice job!

Fun little game, I like the small dialog and minigames that you have to do to get things done

Love the concept. Wish there was an upgrade that made the shooting more accurate, or gave it a wider beam and a way to make the ship launch area larger so it is easier to launch ships.

I like how frantic the game is! Especially in the first attempt when you are just learning the ropes and everything is new. The robot voice giving you the ETA also added to the pressure nicely. I feel like I mostly ignored the feed telling me when things were ready so maybe there's a better way to show you when things are off cooldown from the main screen. But that's a minor nitpick. I think this is a really neat submission. Awesome job!

Like the voice 1 minute to impact from there you got me.
