Hahaha, oh my god this is hilarious. Well done!

very smooth game-play, i like it! excellent audio and humor!

the webGL version runs way too fast for me - everything in the game is sped up drastically.

fun game and really good music. the length was good considering the multiple endings and i replayed it multiple times to get the best one

Great idea and very fun! Such great writing and the sound fit the mood very well. I loved the theme of greed and it paying off, and if I had one gripe it was the the hit boxes on the hazards were a bit too big and things got a little rough here and there. Short but sweet!

Really enjoyed the dialogue that would come up before you made a choice. Great job on this, a lot of character in such a little game.

Forgot to add a link to my source code (it's my first ld), but here it is if anyone is interested (link removed)

That's it. I'm not rating any more games, this is the winner. No point everyone - this is the winner.

I love the Jet Set Willy graphics and the amazing theme tune. I will now go to hatless exile a happy man.

jaime-paz-lopes 2018-04-23 16:05

platforming was really hard, i died a lot hahahah but the texts keep me going

frodewin 2018-04-23 20:38

Awesome idea, I especially was overwhelmed by the first part jumping onto the button. The latter part however was mainly me dying, I would have wished for another checkpoint inbetween. After all I used to "save" in choose your own adventure books a lot ;-)

So hilarious, one of the best game of LD41 i played since now. Really really great job

travis-w-hendrix 2018-04-24 20:55

Love the concept! This game does a great job of combining two genres in an unexpected and entertaining way. Art and audio are also great. A bit difficult for my platforming chops, but fun regardless!

brendan-toy 2018-04-24 22:48

wow what a game! had me laughing out loud! really enjoyed this one! very creative, loved the narration loved the dilemmas... and man that exile ending is harsh :P brilliant work.

ramiad 2018-04-25 02:28

I am horrible at platformer so I didn't get too far but really loved everything about this, especially the dialogue/vo. It was funny and quirky time.

Confrontend by witty dialogue and clever gameplay, the player had no choice but to use the powers of rating, that his mother had bestowed upon him at birth, and gave 5 starts.

diego-escalante 2018-04-27 07:05

Web version is SUPER sped up, which made the platforming extremely difficult. But the Windows version was fine, glad I switched because the narration was hilarious. I legitimately laughed. Well done!

nicmagnier 2018-04-27 11:40

Very interesting and it surprisingly works quite well to mix choose your own adventure and platforming. I really like the look of the characters (even though their collision could be a bit more forgiving)

Nicely done!

benbusby 2018-04-27 17:48

@diego-escalante thank you so much for playing! Would you mind telling me the browser and/or browser version you're using? I tested the web build on chrome/firefox/safari and they all seemed to be running at normal speed.

diego-escalante 2018-04-28 00:43

@benbusby I just tried the latest version following your link on itch.io on both Chrome (Version 65.0.3325.181 64-bit) and on FireFox (Version 59.0.2 64-bit) and both have the game speed higher than than of the Windows version.

My hunch is that this is due to a framerate issue? Maybe my framerate is higher on Web than on Windows, and the character (and other moving things) update positions every frame, without taking into account the time *between* frames. Not sure though!

Still, I want to reiterate that I enjoyed the game very much! Don't mean to nitpick.

sam-machell 2018-04-28 17:19

really funny game and really interesting interpretation of the theme! i really like the interplay between action and slowing down to contemplate! cool stuff

benbusby 2018-04-29 22:04

@diego-escalante thanks for the info! I didn't think you were nitpicking, just wanted to make sure it wasn't something weird on my end. I appreciate it!

nilstastic 2018-05-03 19:14

Nice game and interesting take on the theme. I found the game really hard to master but I liked the dialog, humor and audio. Good job!

oxygenium 2018-05-11 22:34

Funny cool interesting game! I'm waiting to update for new levels :D! Maybe even you can create version on android/ios devices and earn some money :D!
