LD41 — Combine 2 Incompatible Genres

SurviFarm by arzi 2018-04-25T18:31:49Z

This is really impressive for a LDJ game! The only thing I would add to the above comments is that it'd be nice to have a safe area in the beginning to play around with farming, crafting, building etc.

Overall, feels like a very complete and well-executed game. Congrats!

Retroviral by saiodin 2018-04-25T22:06:03Z

Wow, this is a really fun, full-featured game! Fun concept, gameplay is perfectly smooth, and the graphics are wonderfully stylized. Music and SFX were great too, although it's a bit strange how the music pans around depending on which direction the player is facing.

Really impressive, especially for a LDJ game. Nice work!

@stderr @nardandas and @hello-coder thanks for the heads-up about the missing .dll! We just updated the windows build and it should be working now.

@gdort, you might be happy to know that we just added a WebGL version.

Conquer a chef's heart by JanWe 2018-04-24T18:25:07Z

Probably my favorite LDJ game so far in terms of pure fun! Game feels very complete, and I love how you play from the opposite perspective in the second level.

Eggplant Kindergarten by LiquidBrain 2018-04-25T21:20:21Z

Really nice work! The game ran super smoothly, I knew exactly how to play because of the intuitive interface and the voice introduction, and it has a unique and fun art style. The charming music adds a lot too, although the loops end rather abruptly at times.

Arithmetris by MagmaFortress 2018-04-25T06:32:28Z

Great idea, and also a very challenging game! I agree with the ideas in the above comments, and I also think having more minus/negative signs in the mix would open up more possible ways to solve the equations.

I was especially excited to find this game because I worked on a tetris+text-adventure hybrid. We encountered some of the same issues with difficulty when using letters blocks to form words.

Life and Death by AVAVT 2018-04-24T20:38:55Z

I enjoyed playing this even though I don't have anyone else to play with at the moment. Such a cool concept! Can't wait to try it with someone else.

The Waiting Room by Rayne 2018-04-24T17:48:13Z

Interesting idea! I like that waiting is literally the main mechanic in this game. The audio is a nice touch that helps to set the mood.

Soul Sword by Raiyumi 2018-04-24T21:11:35Z

It took me a minute to figure about what this game is about (reading the directions helped), but I really enjoyed it once I did! Interesting concept, smooth gameplay, and the art is wonderful.

I'd be neat if people still bought your goods while you were in the dungeon, but still an excellent LDJ entry.

Rhythm Overdrive by Diblow 2018-04-24T19:34:35Z

Very polished, complete feeling game! Great graphics, great gameplay, great concept.

Numbness by Velocity7 2018-04-24T17:30:59Z

Very cool! It's love you're actually playing an FPS and platformer simultaneously.

Erglow by benbusby 2018-04-24T20:55:07Z

Love the concept! This game does a great job of combining two genres in an unexpected and entertaining way. Art and audio are also great. A bit difficult for my platforming chops, but fun regardless!

RoguePets by Lodugh 2018-04-24T17:56:10Z

Awesome idea for a game, and well-executed too! My only complaint is that it's pretty difficult right off the bat.

DUCK! - LD41 Jam Game by WarticWare 2018-04-24T20:11:40Z

Challenging, but fun and satisfying once you get the hang of it. The music starts over every time you respawn, which is a bit grating since you die so often. Regardless, fun game!

Stardust by Linkwin 2018-04-24T19:17:24Z

Really fun, innovative design! I love the way you move between planets in this - I can't think of another game where I've seen a mechanic like it. Art is great too, it sets the mood for the game.

FishX Brawl by Lars Olav Otten 2018-04-24T19:53:39Z

Haha, I love this! You catch fish and then hit your friends with the fish. Nothing else needs to be said.

- Arc Boss - Sternum vs The DDDmension Faries by ElusiveMilestone 2018-04-25T20:59:57Z

Really nice graphics and gameplay. It would be nice if there was a very short cooldown on the sword attack, I found myself spamming it and watching lines of enemies helplessly run into my blade of doom. Overall great job!

Gone Vroom by Jon Remedios 2018-04-24T19:09:19Z

Amazing! I was grinning like an idiot the whole time :)
