Love the retro look and feel. Very bleak outlook but that isn't a bad thing.

Love the retro look and feel. Very bleak outlook but that isn't a bad thing.
It reminds me the cover of from mars to sirius from Gojira, nice entry, thanks
The intro screen is really pretty!
I agree that the title card screen is very well done pixel art, nice job. The bleak mood is very fitting for 2020 and is well done. I would've liked more openness to exploring. Maybe instead of just telling me I can't go in a certain direction, use the environment to prevent travelling in certain directions.
Even without sound this has great atmosphere. Got both endings, and though none of them made me happy, I appreciate the grim message.
The transition effect between screen is awesome and the story is pretty cool with great atmosphere. Great entry.
Wow, not even a small thanks for all the fish. Selfish.
@thevideogamester Thank you, glad you appreciated the bleakness, I had worried it might come across as a bit overbearing and pretentious.
@mrschlag2 You saw straight through me! It was that album primarily that inspired this game.
@noahw Thank you! I spent more time on that part than the rest of the game's textures combined...
Really liked the art direction, it sets the mood aptly for the game. (I explored both endings)
Looked through source just because you said not to, muahaha. Seems organized enough! That whale graphic is pretty amazing.
I played it 3 or 4 times, but never found ending 1  A game with very serious undertones, that made me sad for a bit. That amazing whale graphic made up for it tho
@jharler Yeah, I would have loved to expand the forest area but I simply ran out of time. Thank you playing and for the feed back though.
@listonos Fun fact, the level transition effect was actually entirely unintentional - just a product of levels loading slowly when running in a web browser. Thank you for playing!
@wheybags ... I don't know what you mean by that but thank you for playing regardless!
@adisking1 Pixel art has never been my strong point so that means a lot - thank you!
@notsomecats I guess the code could be worse - I'm just such a perfectionist that implementing little hacks due to time limit really bothered me! Thank you for playing.
@netmute Wow, thank you for playing so many times! The first ending is actually deceptively simple - just travel across the bridge without talking to the man in the forest. Sorry for making you sad, but thank you for playing!

Nice work! I enjoyed the story a lot, and the art set for a very nice mood! Cool stuff. Great job.
Your writing is amazing! Nice job! i loved the Whale art too
The whale art is amazing and the narrative is really well done. I was immediately captivated by the story. Nice work!
I loved the atmosphere this game created. Dark and depressing, just what 2020 ordered! Nice job, I actually liked the silence apart from the footsteps, it gave it an cool eerie and somber mood. And of course as the others have said, the art was great. Nice job!
Good job with the world creation
This has a neat little story. I would want more endings but 2 is already more then I have in my game. My biggest complaint is no whale sounds. Would have added a lot I think. good game :)
The intro remembers me to "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" xD Nice entry!
Nice short game! idk why, but sometimes it reminded me to Lovecraft. A bit short imho, but nice concept anyways. Both endings where nice. I think the story is this game's strong point.
Great game, found all the endings. Well, two (of two). One little caveat: The transitions seem to be too slow and also include the world itself, not only the graphics. Going straight north almost got me stuck in the well.
I like the atmosphere, even with very simple pixel art, it's working. The story look interesting, the picture with the whale at the beginning is very nice. But otherwise I don't feel the theme, and it seems there's nothing to do except walking. I finished the game very easily.
Nice and very atmospheric game, liked the story and simple art.
Nice little game and I love the whale picture!
