I love that you went beyond the common meaning of the theme ! (And I always like a pun) The gameplay is simple yet effective and the artstyle is charming ! Very good job overall !
my only complaint was not understanding what items did until after I bought them because sometimes Id replace an old weapon with a worse new one and die really quickly to the new larger hoard of enemies
I was hoping someone would make this pun! I liked being able to enter the shop at any time, and discovering the effects of each item was fun. Hit messaging could be a little better, as I didn't initially realize I was doing any damage. I like the hand drawn art feel too!
Really liked this entry. A lot of different items, simple but effective gameplay. the only weird thing for me was that upgrading an item felt almost always like increasing the difficulty curve. But other than that good job!
Fun little game! It took me a second to figure out what I was doing. I'm not sure if it was a bug or not but the movement went kinda nuts after I select an item at times. Simple & Fun great entry.
Like any top-down game it has it's own charm, actually I would prefer more art like that and slightly more fun around it (like crazy weapon, crazy monsters etc), but anyway given the time constraint & the COMPO type of the game - good entry, keep rock, bro! :handshake:
I liked the art style - it had a lot of personality. I'm also glad it had audio though variety would be good - there are tools like bfxr etc that are worth looking at for next time? Took me a little while to figure out what to do at the start (i.e. to click on the gems).
I liked how he made a track on the ice! Very fun little game!

Thanks for the good words! @glaikunt the concept was about unstable charmed items. So items are generated with random charms, and one charm is "drunk" where vertical and horizontal axis are swapped :) you can see charms on the card in right bottom corner after purchase. Didn't have time to work on ui better ^^' @benk yeah it wa exactly bfxr) js version of it. Tried to find tool that generates random music, but didn't succeed :( @erlioniel thx! In the concept orc with his shop was supposed to fly on a masochist-carpet-plane after the wave end. And duck in the items was supposed to shoot blowing eggs.
at the beginning I was wondering, is the title the only thing about the theme? and then I upgrade some different weapons I find out that everything is so unstable :laughing: good work!
Fun game, really reminds me of the good old flash days. I got pretty lucky in my second run though, double projectile, shotgun, double damage... The enemies never got close again :smiling_imp:
Nice idea and artwork. I found the movement a bit weird, sometimes I press W and I go sideways. Maybe a suggestion would be this: When pressing W go to where the mouse points (and ASD keys do the same for right, left, and backwards). I'm not sure if this would be confusing, but it can be tried.
Other than this I really liked the game, good job :smile:

I really appreciate how weird some of the power ups are. Its refreshing to play a game like this with negative power ups.
Nice take on the theme and good implementation. The powerups were a great way to take simple gameplay and turn it into something more fun. I think better descriptions of what was going on would have been helpful, but it's a Ludum Dare, so that's just a minor gripe. Great work!

What a nice shooter game! I like the randomness of weapons. The shoot sound is a bit too repetitive, but besides that well done.
