Wow! Amazing retro style
Liked the style and controlling the herd wasn't impossible but hard enough to be entertaining. Idea was pretty interesting, keep it up
I couldn't find the executable after downloading, really wanna rate this but i have no idea where people are running this from.
@thefruckets It's a playdate game, so you'll either need the device or simulator. The simulator comes with the SDK which you can download here: https://play.date/dev/
I wish it required less steps to install - looks really cool, nicely done
I got initially interested just because I thought you had to control the dog with only the fake GB-style buttons on the screen - that wouldve been a laugh!
@inre-dan I know, it's a bit of a sad limitation. Thanks for looking!
The retro style is amazing! I love your cute pixelated dog!
Love the art style
So awesome! I'm a sucker for the PlayDate, I'm also a sucker for anything dog-related (I also just love herding dogs lol, I own a Sheltie). Great work! I love it! I'd love to see this game evolve even further, too!

@kristirose88 dog lovers unite! Thanks so much for checking it out!
Couldn’t find my play date but it’s good
Fun mechanics, had a good time playing!
Your game was really nice to play. Talking about art.. There are no words.. It's beautiful!
I would have loved to test this game, I never heard about Playdate and took the time to download the simulator but no idea why I can't run the game (it closes as soon as I click on it, it's in a "sideloaded" section, I took the time to put the files in the disk => games file of the Playdate). It seems fun and pretty though, I hope I'll be able to try it someday. Could you please write a little tutorial next time?
'Couldn't find pdz file main.pdz' - I made the effort to install the Playdate Simulator but can't get your game running. If you could explain how to get that going in more detail, I'm sure you'll get more people playing the game (I know I'm keen to!)
This is great! I sideloaded it on my playdate and it's going to stay installed. Love the premise, art, and simple but intuitive gameplay! I'd also love to see this developed further.
Hey @samuel-hollywood-summers & @bork-bork what operating systems are yall running? What's kind of unfortunate is the playdate sim runs compiled code natively, and I think the version here was built on a mac. I can try to make some builds that will allow you to test!
Ah, good to know. I have a Mac, so I can test on that rather than my PC, or if you add a PC version of the build that would also work. Thanks for the reply.
retro? sign me up. animations are fluid, controls are pleasant, the game is overall lovely!
Luckily I have installed the simulator before.I love the cozy vibe! really good entry!
Really wanted to play this on my Playdate, but wildly couldn't get it to run in simulator based on the same error trying out on Windows and Intel Macbooks too... but I finally did the sideload via the Playdate website and that worked out!
Really cute idea, definitely a little early and it was a bit confusing that you could walk into the holes in the ground and end your game immediately. The sprites for your herd dog and the sheep work really well in all their monochromatic dithered glory on the Playdate.
