This is a very nice 5 minute game! I liked how the babies would bounce off the doors and windows when you throw them! Also just so you know near the end of the game the scalpers completely stop moving and won't chase you making it really easy to just go on the side to avoid them instantly. Overall good game, keep up the good work!
Excellent job, Well done!!!
Just one suggestion, add using the right mouse button for the delivery.
good job!!!
This is a really funny game. The text being in white was hard to read/notice at the start so may want to use a more contrasting colour. I enjoyed it, well done :)

Nice simple game. Theme fit pretty well and the game look nice. Wished there was more enemy variety but very good job with the game.

great little game!
I felt the player can be punished for missing the houses entirely. Otherwise I just spammed baby throw button
Hilarious to see them bounce of the house tho haha
We had similar idea with stork, but we made completely different games :D I can see this as a simple mobile game if you added more content and levels :)
Awesome! Very fun little game. Loved the music, such a great tune, and the pixel art for our stork and babies was so fun and cute.
I did see the same bug others mentioned - but no matter, it is fun regardless. stork.png
Can I ask, you mention OpenStreetMap (with Blender) for the houses - I'm very interested in how so?
Overall, good work! I found it very charming!
Neat little game jam game. With a little more time you could expand and polish this to make it into an infinite runner. Great to hear you used this jam for learning new tools and I'm glad you had fun. That's what it's all about. I had fun playing your game. Congrats on completing your first solo jam! Your next one is going to be even better. Good job!
What a cute game! I'm very glad you had fun learning new things and making it, it's simple but works perfectly fine. The music is very catchy and I really love the pixel art of the bird, you did great!
@congeesetador Thank you! I definitely was going for a bit of a comedic effect with the physics haha. Thanks for the heads up on the 2 groups of enemies at the end, I was able to debug this before the end of the gamejam but might fix it in a later version.
I quickly built the enemy spawner using Targetpoints in unreal and a simple ai move to function; I'm wondering if there's a render range to this.
@ugly-robot Thanks! I can't take credit for the music, but I did like the upbeat style from joshuaempyre.
As far as Openstreetmap there is a plugin for blender - I picked a random place, rendered some roads/houses/buildings; intended to make it to develop multiple levels. Instead I just rendered a single house model and duplicated throughout my level. Here's the repo for the plugin https://github.com/vvoovv/blender-osm
@delauraen Oh cool! Very creative idea, good to know, and thanks for sharing! I will have to add that to my tool kit!
@whywhy you're absolutely right, I had to scope things down a bit as I ran into some technical challenges using unreal for the first time.
I plan on making a few different versions to learn more but here's some of my ideas that never made it to this build:
- Implement the story into the actual game, goal is to meet x amount of deliveries to 'Meet your bonus' so you can provide for your stork family. Once you reach the end of the level if you're below the expected deliveries it's a 'game over' otherwise you can continue to next level. Each level would have an increase in difficulty, either via housing placement /enemy placement / combination of both.
- Add a high score tracker
- I'd like to add a short intro cinematic, since I've never worked on one before, would have helped sell the comedic factor seeing the actual baby asset up close maybe haha.
- Add some polish to the baby deliveries, initially intended to have windows break(even added the fracture mesh but never implemented it), interactions with the families accepting deliveries(funny chat box responses), visual effects to indicate when you hit door/window so player has more feedback they got points.

You go Glen Coco! I love your enthusiasm!
haha would be so funny that you threw the baby so hard it bust opened the door!

Hi, nice first solo entry :)
I have few suggestions on the game design side that in my opinion would increase the engagement:
-- throwing a baby into a door or window grants you a score. But there is no baby limit nor penalty for just constantly throwing the baby. This let's you focus on avoiding enemies without ever worrying on hitting the door.
-- it really sucks you can't move faster/slower. Not having ability to avoid groups of enemies this way is very unnatural to this genre.
-- summing up the score given the game is not an endless runner seems at least strange. If the game has a clear ending (like yours) player should be prompted with some sort of challenge like "deliver 10 babies" rather than get the highest score.
-- finally, enemies randomly appearing right next to the character, disappearing when far away really takes away the ability to plan your route/path. This shouldn't be happening. Also the pattern they appear in is repetetive, I think they always form the same shape.
Hope you find this feedback useful and don't take it personally, you did a great job! Cheers!
@zbugba - Thank you, this feedback is really helpful, constructive and I very much appreciate it. There's so many good points here and I agree with your breakdown, you can see where I struggled to combine/implement features that didn't necessarily make sense as a whole. Next time around I'll definitely be applying this thought process as lessons learned.
Gave me a lot to think about, thanks again!

Throwing babies at doors and windows was simple but funny! I'd like to have gotten a little more feedback when hitting the targets. I also think this would do well as an endless runner. Our team considered doing a paperboy style baby delivery game so it's cool to see it realized! Nice first time solo work!

I was caught off guard when the game started immediately upon opening it, but as I played, I discovered that the baby would bounce back after being shot out, which immediately made me laugh. Well done, and I look forward to future updates!
